  1. All tyres delivered to Skoda are approved and do their job when it comes to safety, comfort etc.. The brands of tyres fitted is random (at least we can not specify them when we order the car in Norway) as long as they are approved when it comes to size, load rating, speed rating and so on..
  2. This is the first panorama roof equipped Yeti with a leaky roof I have heard of so far, and we have sold quite a few of them, so this is not a common fault... My car has the panorama roof as well, it rests outside in all weather, and hasn't let a drop into the cabin. I even leave it tilted when I expect rain, and enter a dry car the nexts time I go for a drive because the "rain close" function does it's job just great! All sunroofs that have a frame with drain "pipes" leak from the outside and into the frame.. They are designed that way. The drains that are situated in each corner is supposed to take care of the little water that creeps in between the outer seals and the glass panels. My guess is that the drain(s) in the rear of the frame the roof is installed in hasn't been fitted properly or is plugged.. When your dealer looks at this, make sure the noise insulation, carpets on the floor etc.. is either properly dried or changed. I would also ask if they could change the headliner to be sure to avoid water stains later. The mechanics ought to be happy to fit new parts instead of trying to fit a "soaked"/damaged headliner. I'm sure your Yeti will be good as new again
  3. Our demo car (140 TDI 4x4 Experience) is shod with the Dunlop tyres the OP has got on his car. They are noticably more noisy on Norwegian roads than the Pirelli's on my identical car. Almost wish my car had the Dunlops, it might drown out some of the unwanted creaks and rattles
  4. Congratulations  Looks good, and I'm glad you like it
  5. I have a full orchestra in my Yeti..., and to be honest I'm getting quite fed up with the car because of all the creaking and rattling. One of the most anoying noises sounds excactly like the one Octy888 describes on the left side of the trunk area. The one in my car is also a metallic creak that can be heard when the body twists, and going over "sleeping policemen". I still haven't been able to pinpoint where the noise is produced. I did remove all the trim in the luggage compartment, the door trim on the left rear door, but when going for a drive after having removed all of the plastic trim, all I heard was all the other anoying noises... Could not find anything loose or misplaced after removing the trim. Driving with the left rear door open makes the noise go away, but driving with the door open is hardly a solution I'm willing to live with The panorama roof makes A LOT of noise in the winter, but most of the noise from the roof has disapeared now that the weather is a bit hotter. The A-pillars creak when going around roundabouts. I have performed the "repair" with textile tape behind the clips that hold the outside A-pillar trim in place. The creaks got worse after having replaced the windscreen. The creak from the back is accompanied by plastic "vibrating rattles" from inside the dash. I replaced the instrument binacle this winter because of the silver trim surrounding the clocks squeaked and drove me mad when driving on uneven/icy winter roads. All of these noises can be replaced with rattling doorcards/ door trim by turning the sound system up......... :( I drove many Yeti's before I ordered mine, and all of them were very quiet, and seemed well built. Guess it's a bit hit and/or miss if you get a "good one" or a rattling lemon..
  6. My guess would be that the towel and plastic window on the intrument cluster produced static electricity, and that this caused the display to "blank out". It will probably be OK tomorrow  Hope it sorts itself out!

    MFD Questions

The phone button on the Bolero works as a mute button if you haven't specced the GSM II from the factory. I'm not sure, but you might be able to make the outside temp show in the radio's display?
  8. The iphone 3g I use works flawlessly with the Columbus/GSM II in my Yeti as well. Full functionality, and I can charge/listen to music from the phone via the MDI port Perfect set up
  9. Yes, you get an amplifier in the "sound system" package with the 12 speakers. It's under the drivers seat (on LHD cars) and it does a fairly good job of powering the speakers You also get lot's of different settings related to sound in the headunit. It's called DSP.
  10. There is a slightly visible grayish layer on the windscreen in the dark when you are driving slow enough to have to use the vipers, other than that it works perfectly when applied the way it should. I bought my kit from this webshop in Norway: My link
  11. Hei! A plastic spatula/lever (or a plast kile in Norwegian) of some sort ought to do the job just fine. Just lever off the plastic trim, and then you'll need a T20 torx bit or screwdriver to unscrew the four screws securing the Colombus unit to the dash.. Good luck with you handsfree system! Jon A
  12. I have treated all the windows including the glass roof on my car with a "windscreen sealer" / rain repellant called NanoLotus and it really works well even on the side windows. You can see a video of it here: I guess somthing like RainX would do the same job, but I doubt it lasts as long as the NanoLotus treatment.

    Snövit

    Congratulations!!! Looks great Now, ENJOY!!!!
  14. Thanks for another great write-up! I'm kind of envious of how easy it is to reach Germanys Autobahns/Nürburgring, The Alps, The rivieras etc. when living in DK... I know København is just a 7 hour drive from Oslo, but the 7 hour drive or the expensive ferry makes it more something to think about instead of just jumping in the car and just drive to where ever your heart desires My girlfriend and I went on a trip last summer staying 3 nights in Køben, and then of to Nürburgring for 3 nights, finishing off in Paris before heading home. We had a Fabia MK2 1,9TDI Sport at the time, and it was a great companion for the whole trip, coping great with everything from 190km/h autobahn touring to lapping "the green hell". I miss the sport seats in the Fabia.. They were good for a non-stop drive from Paris to Oslo (had to stop for dinner in Hamburg, and a few fuel/toilet stops) without a sore back. Not sure if I would have been that happy with the Yeti after a similar short summer adventure this summer?? I'm actually thinking about either ordering the parts I need for converting the front seats in the Yeti to the new sport seats, or downgrading to a new Fabia vRS.. :p
  15. The sun-blind on my Yeti has never closed during the night after disabling the "rain-close" function in the Maxi-Dot menu. I have never read about the feature that closes the blind depending on outside temperature, and I'm not even sure such a feature exists.. The "rain-close" feature closes windows, panoramic roof (only if tilted open) and sun blind if it detects rain OR after 12 hours. Try disabling the rain-close, and let us know what happens. Jon A
  16. I will give it a go  1: The metal dog/cargo guard is a pain to take inn and out of the car, it is not easy to retrofit because fitting it involves drilling holes in the headliner and fitting threaded rivets into metal structure of the roof. It can only be fitted in the position pictured in the accessories catalogue.. Not a great choice if you want flexibility. I have never seen the fabric roll up type, but my guess would be that you get the fixtures for fitting the net in both trunk and behind the front seats if you order the cargo net. The fixtures are not standard on a car ordered without the net. 2: I don't think double sun visors can be had on Yeti's in the UK? Correct me if I'm wrong :wonder: 3: You are correct about not being able to control anything but the volume if an ipod is connected via the AUX port. I have retrofitted MDI, but not in a Yeti. Works like a charm in the Superbs I have fitted them, and also in my Yeti which has it as a factory fitted option (I live in Norway) . It should be no problem to retrofit MDI in a Yeti. Hope this answers some of your questions  Jon A
  17. I can confirm that there is a repair solution to the faulty Xenon ECU's issued by Skoda Auto. All Skoda workshops should be able to access this information. I think there are two software versions that are faulty(SW 03 and 07 if I remember correctly??) Any danish Skoda shop should be able to fix Snehvides Xenon hick-up  Jon A
  18. I find the ride comfort and handling/the way it drives the Yeti's most impressive feature I believe that fitting tires with a taller profile would ruin some of the presicion and feel of the beautifully set up car. 65 section and above and still maintaining the standard circumference (spelling??) would probably force you to pick rims that won't fit over the brakes.. My Yeti has spent most of it's 6500km's on studded 225/50-17 Gislaved winter tires, and I'm really looking forward to fitting the summer rubber sometime after easter is over. The summer rubber will be the original Pirelli tires on Annapurna rims. Having a problem deciding if I should pick the black/silver or the silver/silver Annapurnas :p Take the Yeti out on another testdrive
  19. In most cases when PD diesel Octavias are filled with petrol, they start and the driver drives until the engine stops. Driver calls tow-truck, garage sucks out bad fuel, replaces fuel filter and flushes fuel lines, no harm done.. I work at a Skoda dealer, and I still haven't seen any problems that could be related to the filling of petrol earlier in the cars life. Have the tank drained, fuel lines flushed, new fuel filter, full tank of fresh diesel, and you are good to go The blue smoke is a result of bad combustion/misfiring because of the petrol/diesel mix.. Maybe you should consider one of theese in the future? : My link
  20. They make only 100 Yeti's each week for delivery worldwide with the panoramic roof, so if you ticked that option box, that might be the reason.. i got mine before they started to sell the Superb estate with the roof, so there was no extra wait at that time. Let's hope it's worth the wait when you take delivery of your new Yetis

    DLR's

Hi! The rear lights can be programmed to be on when the DRL's are on. We make the rear lights follow the DRL's on all new Skoda cars in Norway
  22. Great pictures! And a very nice colour  Enjoy your new car
  23. I have driven my 2,0 TDI around 6000km now with at least one cold start every day. This winter has been VERY cold, and we have had temps around -20 C frequently. I haven't heard any noises that isn't supposed to be there from the engine in my car. I have driven quite a few 2,0 Yetis at work as well, and never heard of this "known problem" . If the noise disapears when the clutch is stepped down, my guess would be gears in the gearbox making noise when they are not under load. Regards Jon A
  24. Hi Plumber! I'm all well, and so is my monster if I forget all the unwanted cabin noises it's producing Your question concerning the alarm is no, my car does not have the factory fitted alarm system That is probably why my two small "mood lights" is working even if I have the panoramic roof Regards Jon A
  25. I've got the creaky/panoramic roof on mine as well, and the two "diffuse lights" works great on my car  Would love to trade them for a creak free roof though
