  1. WBAC values it at £5840, which compared to the £9220 asking price seems crazy!!! Do Evans halshaw move on their prices at all? Parker's guide says that a franchised dealer should charge £9645 for it and £8585 from an independent dealer. I suppose that isn't too far off then.
  2. Have you had any issues? The elegance spec is the one for me, my first Yeti was an elegance and you do notice the difference in the SE of the facelift models. What MPG do you tend to get from your current one? I had the 140 as my first Yeti, but it has the emissions fix and that seemed to reduce it a bit.
  3. I've seen a possible replacement for my dud Yeti. A 2013 4x4 140HP Elegance model. It has done 63,000 miles though. Is this too high to pay £9000 for? I dearly miss my original Yeti and this petrol DSG Yeti (although faulty) is just not the same. I am considering Octavia's, Yeti's, PHEV's, etc... We run a Kia Sorento that has 128k miles on and is fairly unproblematic, so my gut feeling is that 63k miles isn't too high. But what do you think? Also, there are many garages advertising that they can remove the emissions fix, can it be 100% removed? This particular Yeti has a FSSH, so I'm assuming it'll have been 'fixed' Thanks again
  4. My fuel light comes on after 300-305 miles in the Yeti, the most i've had from a tank is 350, but it was running on fumes. I'm going to ask to test drive a diesel octavia dsg, a diesel 4x4 dsg Yeti and also a PHEV as they are both the same price pretty much. I think we have established now that my Yeti is not performing as it should. I tend to stick in neutral when going to work as it is mostly downhill, so that balances out the hills on the way home. On a run i'll see a maximum of 38mpg on the Maxidot readout. Never over 40mpg unless rolling in neutral.
  5. I am also considering an Outlander PHEV as I can charge at work, but not at home. The EV range should cover my trip to work and back.
  6. The skoda garage I purchased the car from hs just serviced it, I once again asked them to check the gearbox issues I was having and they informed me that it is operating 100% correctly. If I purchased a car from them and they gave me a lower part ex price because the car is faulty, then they have a lot of explaining to do. If DSG performed as I expected it to, then I'd love another DSG car. Is it worth me test driving another DSG petrol and diesel car? My commute to and from work is country lanes, all downhill one way and all steeply uphill the other way. My car rarely ever sees towns or cities. I stick to dual carriageways, country lanes and back roads. This has all stemmed from the 32mpg that my 1.2DSG Yeti is getting me (it is not driven at all hard) and how badly the gearbox seems to be acting.
  7. Looking to change my DSG Yeti as I cannot get on with the gearbox. Have been looking at octavia estates and the diesels seem to be £1-2k cheaper than the petrol versions currently. I do roughly 20 miles a day, some days that can go up to 40 and at the weekends we tend to do about 40 a day. Would this be enough for a dpf in the diesel? The cost saving of the car and the fuel is very tempting. Also, I have seen a lot of high spec 1.6 TDIs with 70k-80k miles on for around £8000, does this seem like a good deal? Cheers
  8. Seems like a bargain to me. For an Octavia Estate in my area, 10k would get you one with 75k+ miles on it.
  9. True. Can I confirm that this is clutch slippage and is not supposed to happen?
  10. Over the past 2 weeks or so (that I've noticed) my Yeti 1.2 DSG has been playing up. When it changes from 1st to 2nd, it free revs for 600rpm at least before it engages 2nd gear. Is this normal? Or is this the start of major issues? I am still under warranty until July. Thanks
  11. My MPG fluctuates a lot. Yesterday I drove around in a lot of start stop traffic and also empty roads with a 40mph speed limit for an hour and a half and I ended up averaging 30mpg. It read 38 at one point, but also 27 at one point.
  12. It is worth noting my MPG is low because my daily commute is very hilly coming home, which is brutal on my fuel. I averaged 40.1 mpg overall today with mixed town/dual carriageway driving over about 60 miles.
  13. I agree with the space in the back seats, it really is quite tight. Boot space is probably fine for most people because of how easy it is to stack upwards in it. Driver room is decent. Mpg for me is poor in my 1.2 DSG (32 average on short trips. But it will go to about 40-45 on a run)
  14. I'm going to wait until my approved used warranty expires first. Well, all I have been told is that there is no mechanical problems with the car at all and that it is performing exactly as the software wants it to. Maybe in the final 8 months of my warranty an issue will become more apparent, but at least I have between now and then for that to happen before I go ahead with the DSG remap and possibly the stage 1 ECU remap.
  15. The link you put does not work? If a brand new 1.2 dsg Yeti acts the same as mine and another one I've tried also did it, why does that mean there is a fault with it? Yes I was concerned by it, but the I've had 2 master technicians assure me that it is not faulty and that it is just a lower sounding engine note that is more resonant on certain road surfaces because of the low revs. If I get the car remapped at all, the company I've been in contact with (Avon Tuning) have said they do a full health check of the vehicle to make sure it is suitable to be remapped.
  16. I have been assured by 2 dealers that my car is fault free and also, a work colleague has just got a 2017 dsg Yeti 1.2 and theirs does the same thing that mine does. This leads me to believe that it is normal.
  17. A DSG remap will adjust the shift points to where I would like them, so in my situation, it would make the driveability of the car a lot better. I agree that the stage 1 ECU map may not do much, but it is still an option.
  18. Ahh. I'm probably going to get a stage 1 ECU map and a DSG map. Both of those will completely change the car. At the moment the software is awful
  19. The vibration you describe when you rest your foot on the clutch gently was probably always there, it has been on every TDI I've driven. Your best bet is to get the opinion of a trusted local mechanic. I expect your DMF has started to go, but get it checked.
  20. When you say improved daily driving, do you mean so that the gearbox selects a more appropriate gear? I don't know about you, but my DSG car selects 1-2 gears too high and labours a lot. I am looking at getting a DSG remap to adjust the shift points. I believe that S mode on the gear stick would be unaffected by this as it just changed the regular D mode. I may be wrong though, so anyone feel free to correct me!!
  21. My 140hp 2L TDI Yeti did something like that, the garage put a new clutch and DMF in it and it still did it. I couldn't live with it, so I rejected the car. But it felt like putting your foot through gravel when you pressed the clutch in to change gear, it got worse with load. There was also a heavy vibration when the pedal was fully pressed in. On a side note, every VAG diesel car I've driven has had some sort of vibration in the clutch pedal when you press it in about an inch or two. A brand new Golf GT, a new Octavia too.
  22. My 2012 UP did it, but it wasn't particularly loud. My Yeti does it too. It isn't something to worry about!
  23. Worth noting, it doesn't seem as bad at all in manual mode. When I manually shift up to the gear at the same speed as it would in Drive, the vibration either isn't there or isn't as bad.
  24. So I've had a few issues with my 1.2L DSG Yeti 2014. So far, both dealers have told me they are normal/to be expected. The biggie for me now is that when driving at 25mph-40mph the car changes up to 5th/6th/7th and the engine vibrates/labours very audibly. It feels like the car is almost on the verge of stalling in a way. I've had my mechatronics reset and that didn't make any difference whatsoever. What could be causing this? I've tried videoing the sound, but it won't pick it up. Also, when the VW/Skoda techs drove it, I couldn't feel or hear the vibration... It is very annoying and making me want to get rid of the car in favour of a traditional slushbox auto. (Worth noting the Mecharonics were replaces 7k miles ago and also has had a HT lead cleaned due to corrosion) Any tips would be great.
  25. To add to that, my car is not getting any better fuel economy still and is also displaying exactly the same issues as before. I requested a call back on the customer feedback form, so the garage should ring me back so I can get them to take it for a drive with me in it. I'm getting pretty fed up with it to be honest. This is my second Yeti in 5 months and both have been faulty in some way.
