  1. Just a thought - do you have Lane Assist active on your car?
  2. My thoughts are that the battery voltages look fine, SkodaKing. I wouldn't waste time / money on replacing that just yet, at least until you've excluded other options. You don't say how old the battery is. Most will last for at least 4 years, while some appear immortal!
  3. Hi JustMarcel. You've had a lot of advice about the oil you need, but there is a more fundamental warning in the owners manual. If ANY red warning light comes up on the dashboard, it is important to turn off the ignition as soon as possible. Immediately is best. In the case of the oil warning light coming on, "stop the vehicle, switch off the engine, and check the engine oil level, top up if necessary." Running the engine with little or no oil can cause irrepairable damage. Stay lucky!
  4. We had a power cut last night, and so I was unable to charge up my phone. Battery capacity was down to 5%, and the car flashed up a message "Ken's A14 battery is almost empty". The symbol had turned red, and A14 is my phone. It's nice to know that my car is looking out for my phone!
  5. Hi Cardo, I think you may have found the answer. My phone is indeed Bluetoothed to the car, and I had been unable to charge it up the night before. Thanks for putting my mind at rest; I feared that it was a sign that the car battery was going flat, during a 300+ miles journey. Possibly something relating to the key fob battery. Ken
  6. As far as I know it is the original, numskull.
  7. Just above the satnav screen, and to the right of the clock, there is a green emblem, similar to a mobile phone signal strength indicator. I have tried uploading a photo but, right now, technology is defeating me. Just recently, during a 300+ mile journey, I started losing "bars" and the symbol eventually turned red. The following morning, the symbol was green again and all of the "bars" had returned. I'm sorry that this is all rather vague, but I'm hoping that someone might be able to tell me what might have happened. TIA, Ken
  8. SimonDonny, you have a 2012 Superb (mk2) but have posted to a mk3 group. You'll be more likely to get the help you need in the mk2 group. Good luck in finding the answer!
  9. I'm not sure about the tailgate buttons, but replacing key fob batteries is a quick / low cost approach.
  10. I've not experienced this particular problem, but it might be worth replacing the key fob battery.
  11. IIRC there is a "lever", under the steering column, which allows all of the adjustments (probably the one you are trying to use). I don't think there any electric controls for the steering column mechanism, so all I can suggest is to release the lever, and tŕy jiggling the steering column to free it up. Good luck, and please let the group know how you get on. Ken
  12. The Boss had a similar problem with her Fabia key. I replaced the battery, but this made no difference. The car was still under warranty, so she took it back to the dealer. They put in a 3rd battery (which worked), but said that the cheap Chinese battery which I put in wasn't up to the job.
  13. Its probably worth checking the wiring loom where it enters the drivers door. This is a problem often reported here on Briskoda, and I suggest you search for solutions already provided here. Good luck - I hope you find an answer!
  14. I had a similar battery problem with my Superb 2. After 4 days without use, the battery was comletely drained. I put my battery on almost permanent trickle charge! The independent diagnosis was a faulty Body Control Module, with an estimate of £300 to repair. As I'd need to replace tyres too, I put the Old Girl in pex for the current Superb 3 L&K. I can't say that your BCM is faulty, but it might be worth looking into. Please report the final outcome back to the group, and good luck in finding a solution!
  15. Thanks, Warrior193, and apologies to X27 - I stand corrected. I must try to read the manual more, but my eyes keep glazing over! 🤔
  16. "The coolant temp, assuming this is the small analogue dial on the left of the instrument cluster sticks at 90 no matter the temperature." - I think you'll find that this is the oil temperature gauge. In any case, it's a company-maintained car and you should get back to the garage and have them check everything over. Good luck, and please let the group know the outcome. There could be others here who experience similar problems some time. Ken
  17. Thanks for your help, Stonekeeper - that's more like the Columbus I have. The "product" number on the back cover is different, but the text and pics look the same and will definitely do the job! Best wishes.
  18. Thanks for this, Stonekeeper, but it looks very much like the Columbus from a Superb 2, with the CD player mounted above the screen. My Superb 3 (L&K) has it mounted in the glove box, and also has 2 SD card slots. Ken
  19. I'm looking for a PDF copy of the Columbus Infotainment booklet (3v0012720fb). I have a hard copy which I keep in the car, but would like a soft copy for reference when I'm sitting at my desk. It's sometimes easier to search for "nuggets" of information dotted around the manual. I've looked (unsuccesfully, so far) on Skoda's website and here on Briskoda, hence this plea for help. I'd be grateful for any pointers to legit sources. Many thanks!
  20. Hi Davet30. If you consider yourself capable of DIY, I strongly recommend checking YouTube for possible solutions. This will give you an idea of the skills and materials needed, and whether or not you could be capable of executing an acceptable repair. Would DIY be up to the same standard as a professional job - probably not. Would anyone else be able to detect the repair - thats for you to decide after checking YouTube. Good luck, and please let the group know how everything ends up.
  21. I'm looking around for a Superb with a Euro 6 engine. At the moment, I thinking about an L&K model.
  22. Can anyone confirm if it is possible to export saved address data from Columbus sat nav, perhaps to an SD card? I plan to buy another Superb, but want to avoid the need to re-enter each address individually! Many thanks, KenM
  23. I'm in almost an identical situation to OP. Clearly more towns and cities are going down the ULEZ route (or something similar, e.g. Oxford). Glasgow has an outright ban on diesels which are not Euro 6, and they will fine drivers of non-compliant vehicles. I've concluded that my best option is to put my 13 plate Skoda Superb (Elegance) in part exchange for a Euro 6 vehicle. This not my preferred option, but this appears to be the "direction of travel" (no pun intended!). I've shortlisted a few Skoda Superbs and am tempted by Laurin & Klement, although they are a smidgeon above my budget. It's only coming out of the kid's inheritance, though. 😉 Good luck with whatever you choose.
