  1. I ordered on March 30th and was told week 28 for the build. Now it's week 26 and it's already built. The dealer said it would be ready to deliver end of July but I'll be on holiday, so will collect about 1st week of August. Can't wait!
  2. Happy me! My dealer just told me that my car (Superb Combi 220PS Style, black magic, beige leather, loads of goodies including panorama roof ordered 30th March) has already been assembled (the plan was week 28 - we are only week 26 now) and that by end of July it will be ready for delivery to me.
  3. I can't wait! Would you add photos to the photo thread, when you have received it?! I'm curious about all the MY2018 features! And I'm jealous! Хвала вам
  4. @bobgfish Then it may be 2.9% - but it's not AMAG, they are too expensive for me. Thanks for the reminder! All the best, Rob
  5. Very interesting. Mine ordered Week 13 (MY2017) should be made in Week 28 (MY2018) and should arrive in week 32 or thereabouts. The contract specified a price (not Swiss list price, significant discount) which I expect to see honoured. The financing company is apparently not yet defined, however although the promised interest rate APR was frozen at 3.9% I think. (Don't have it in front of me). Thanks for this, will keep my eyes peeled!
  6. @BillyJim - Many thanks - very helpful! I will unfortunately have to wait until my car arrives! It's going to be a MY2018 so anticipate a Version 2, I guess. All the best, Rob
  7. Ah yes, I've seen AutoInstruct have done some good videos on YouTube - I watched the OBDeleven one I think. Good point about the double-edged sword. At least one can unbolt the dogbone again if the responsiveness is perceived as intrusive. All the best, Rob
  8. Yes, designed to be kept there! I saw it on a Skoda advertising video. Simply Clever!
  9. @cyberkank, @BillyJim where did you source your dogbone inserts? Direct from 034 Motorsport? Car feeling more rigid, direct steering feeling with the road and smoother gearshifts sounds pretty good to me. Not bad for $42.- Sounds definitely like a must-have mod. Talking of "rigid" and "direct" - is there any room for a steering strut brace? Has anyone tried it?
  10. I support Prykey's assertion: "ET" stands for German "Einpresstiefe" ('insertion depth' or 'offset'). When we want to buy alloy wheels here in Switzerland, we not only have to get diameter and width as well as bolt pattern, we also are not allowed to choose an ET that would have the rims + tyres extending beyond the bodywork. That is a big "no-no" here. Added to that, the rolling circumference of the chosen tyre must be within a small percentage of the factory value otherwise your speedometer will read a false value which means your vehicle is not roadworthy! You have to take your car to the local vehicle test center to get it approved. It will be driven down a test road with a calibrated radar and large digital display. The tester drives at constant speedometer reading of 60 km/h and the digital radar display must not vary more than a few km/h. The tester also tries full lock (left and right, as far as the steering wheel will go) and is driven in circles to compress the suspension and deform the tyre. If the tyre does not touch the bodywork or wheel arch inside or out at any time, then this test was successful. When approved, the new rims and tyres are entered in the vehicle registration document ("grey card"). Try Googling "wheel rim offset et explanation". There are some nice illustrations of wheel offset, including photos on this site: https://shopdap.com/wheel-offset-explained/ I hope this was an interesting insight into Swiss roadworthiness testing!
  11. For your information - "FROM WEEK 23 TO WEEK 25 THE WHOLE VOLKSWAGEN GROUP IS CHANGING THE ORDERING SYSTEM OVER TO NEW SOFTWARE" ["Die ganze Volkswagen Gruppe stellt KW 23 bis 25 das ganze Bestellsystem auf eine neue Software um." -- original text] This is news from my dealer who was in contact with his Skoda representative and heard it from him. It could perhaps go a bit quiet with updates during this time... SwissRob 2017
  12. They tried to deliver it Friday but I wasn't home, only 5 days after ordering. Sent from Czech Republic ('Czechia') on Monday and collected Saturday from the post office in rural Switzerland. I just need the Black Magic 220PS "Style" Estate with all the goodies now to mount it on ...
  13. That's great news! I'm looking forward to receiving my Combi Style 220PS to fit it to! ATB Rob
  14. After all the doom and gloom in some of the posts regarding delivery times from Superskoda, I ordered the polished stainless V3 bumper protector on Sunday. I ordered early to be sure it would be here soon enough (my black Superb III Combi should be delivered about week 32). But Monday (week 23) I received an e-mail saying that it has already shipped! Fast service from Superskoda. It should be here latest week 25 (after going through customs etc.) and will give an update when it arrives.
  15. Kez' comment got me Googling and I found a few who commented in other (old) forums that their Merc/BMW/Range Rover/Audi/... etc has it and that it seems to make a difference but they can't say how much... ATB, Rob
  16. Hi Superb170 I had a quick look at the Swiss configurator - WITH Sunset the acoustic option costs CHF 400.- (about GBP 315.-), WITHOUT Sunset, it costs CHF 150.- (about GBP 118.-) Sunset alone costs CHF 250.- (about GBP 197.-) so buying them together is not a saving. BTW these are the official Skoda.ch prices. What a dealer may choose to charge may vary. The descriptions of the options do not contain any information about the effectiveness of the noise reduction. It would be useful to know how many dB overall with what weighting characteristic eg. from the typical driver's position and under what conditions. Or a before/after comparison. Hope this was helpful. All the best, Rob
  17. Hi Muty If you look at the Swiss configurator (available in French, Italian, German here's a link to French, for example: http://cc-cloud.skoda-auto.com/CHE/CHE/fr-ch ) you will be able to see what is in MY18. Continue to the end of the configuration because some of the visualisations have not been updated. I hope this was helpful. (Changement est un mot français, non?) All the best, Rob
  18. Hi Kez Style is the trim level below L&K. Climatronic is available as an option on all trim levels here. I'm not familiar with the UK specs. Here the trim levels go Active - Steel 16" wheels, Onyx (black) only interior, no "packs" available, only Bolero or Amundsen, + Infotainment Online 3 Jahre + Care Connect (Remote Access (1 year) & Proactive Services) etc... Ambition - Zeus 17" alloy wheels, Onyx (black) only interior, High-Tech & High-Lux (Amundsen) packs available, many other options + Infotainment Online 3 Jahre + Care Connect (Remote Access (1 year) & Proactive Services) etc... Style - Stratos 17" alloy wheels, Onyx (black) & Beige interiors available, High Tech and Comfort (Columbus) packs available, many other options + Infotainment Online 3 Jahre + Care Connect (Remote Access (1 year) & Proactive Services) etc... L&K - All bells 'n whistles (goodies) + Added Infotainment Online 3 Jahre + Care Connect (Remote Access (1 year) & Proactive Services) etc... There is an option (new to me) called Acoustic Pack ("Akustikpaket") with noise-reducing front side windows with extended interior noise reduction measures ("Seitenscheiben vorn geräuschdämmend, erweiterte Innengeräuschdämmung"). Can be ordered with or without SunSet (darkened rear windows). Available on Ambition, Style and L&K (but not "Active"). Hope this was useful! All the best, Rob
  19. Hi all Swiss Superb configurator now implemented, new Columbus, new wheel selection, no torch in boot selectable, new Care Connect, slightly different combinations but often the required additions cost 0.00 Updated visualisations, after configuration. During config, the visualisations can still be the old ones. Also some interior thumbnail images "broken" until one moves to the next view. Hope this was useful. All the best to all, Rob
  20. The Swiss configurator is being updated now. An error message indicates an invalid/unavailable configuration would result and allows only "OK" acknowledgement and closes the configurator.
  21. "There's an app for that!" Bosch make it easy to find the right one: http://de.bosch-automotive.com/en/news_and_extras/wipers_app_7/wiper_app Here's Bosch' own fitting list as a .pdf: http://aa-boschap-de.resource.bosch.com/media/commonly_used_media/common_media/ap_common/parts/de_6/service_parts/wipers_service_parts/1987720304_klappliste_bosch_wischer_2016_2017.pdf Observation: some fitting lists don't mention the Super III, only the Superb II The small 3 in a circle refers to a comment which means "Long life thanks to wear-resistant wiper edge". I also find them to be the best on the market and use them on my (current) Ford Cougar V6 and my wife's Clio 16V.
  22. @fiki Mine - Order:week 13, Build:week 28 (promised) - in other words 15 weeks...
  23. Hi Kez - where do you see "Status 20"? How do you know this? Please put us out of our misery!
  24. Ooops! My mistake! I have only started looking at car brochures again early this year since I will be replacing my 18-year old Ford (<100 000km!) with a new Superb. My ex-wife wouldn't let me buy a new car - the last new one I had (BMW 525i E34) was in 1986! All the best, Rob
