  1. There was a new pre-reg ‘18 plate 245 in autotrader for £23k about a week ago. Looked a great deal considering similar cars with 3-6k mileage are over available for £24k
  2. Is correct. Skoda have told all dealers to pass back to stock, any cancellations - they are under strict instructions not to hold and sell. Also see that Skoda are looking at building a new factory in Europe to address the delivery challenges. Saw an article over the weekend where Skoda admitted they had quite a few models with 8 month delivery timescales and they need to address. The agreed 12% pay increase in Czech Republic will see a third shift added at the factories plus Sunday working so will increase capacity by c80k cars at the main factory alone.
  3. On day 149 with another 7-8 weeks still to go before delivery. Will be close to 200 by time I get mine.
  4. Your licence should re removed immediately! Shame on you Never let the wife drive your pride and joy!
  5. If I didn’t let them do it it’d never be done - i’m A lazy arse! Plus I like the social aspect each week and walking round the showroom. They do over 200 cars every Saturday morning
  6. Does anyone really use the eco mode on their vrs? Just find mine very slow to respond and ‘laggy’ on the current diesel vRS so tend to use normal or sport settings only
  7. My local Skoda dealer offers s a free car wash every Saturday morning while you have a cuppa tea or coffee and some nibbles... go most weeks as I can’t be arsed to spend hours washing and waxing but am loving the pics from those who do
  8. Are you guys all aliens? Didn’t understood a word of what you said on this last page ....
  9. Fair play to the Simpsons guy - maybe he’d read the negative comments in here and thought he needed to act
  10. My build week just got brought forward from bw22 to bw18 (w/c 30 April) MY19 Octavias will also only start bw31 (see my separate thread re this) - not wk22 as per previous years, so anyone hoping to get extra options in wk22 will be disappointed
  11. My wk 22 build got changed to wk 18 today - was hoping i’d get a few more options thrown in if it had stayed at wk22 but bringing forward an order is always a positive
  12. Spoke to Skoda Uk Customer services about my 245 order and they confirmed MY19 will start from week 31 this year (not 22 as per previous years). Not sure if this applies just to the Octavia or all models but am guessing the latter. This means the factory will close in July and open 30 July (wk 31) with the MY19 cars.
  13. Shocking customer service... Simpson’s get a real mixed bag of feedback online so not surprised. Hope you get it sorted mate
  14. not familiar with VCDS. Is that something my local skoda dealer can do for me? And if so what’s the cost? Also is it something that takes 5 mins in case I don’t like the increased noise
  15. Cheers I had the pre FL mk2 but assume the engine /exhaust was the same as the FL. also got a mk3 preFL diesel vrs today. Is the sound generator in the 245 the same as my current car or will it be louder/different?
  16. Is that only the internal sound? Will be gutted if the external exhaust sound is quieter than my old mk2 petrol given it was only 200bph
  17. Am hoping it’s a lot louder and fruitier than my current 184 TDI engine. Please tell me it is....
  18. Have had my 184 VRS for 3 years and my average mpg is 46. Most of my driving is dual carriageway or mway and yes I do have a heavy foot , but I don’t race like an idiot or fly off from traffic lights trying to beat Corsas. If I ease off and stick to the 70mph limit then I get 50. The slower the better but have never had more than 52mpg in a full tank. But then again you don’t tend to buy a vrs to drive like a snail. Ps: I don’t use eco mode.
  19. In my case I asked for compensation as soon as it became clear that my original delivery date was going to be missed. Made a complaint and CSs agreed in writing to cover my additional motoring costs as a result of the delay. This was all agreed in January - 5 weeks before my original /promised delivery date. No waiting 18 weeks or other crap. My suggestion would be push as you’re the customer and the one being inconvenienced by the delay. If they’d told you of the delay at the time of signing up you would probably have gone elsewhere so skoda need to look after you (and in my case they are - so fair play to them) but you need to push
  20. Ties in with what I was told by Skoda that current production would run till end of June then factory close in July
  21. Sooo exited....Had a call from my local Skoda dealer today saying a 245 order had been cancelled and was available in 3 weeks - was I interested despite being a different colour to what I originally ordered. Said yes and he’s requested the car so hopefully find out tomorrow if i’ve managed to secure it. Would bring forward my current delivery by 8 weeks from end of June. Fingers & toes crossed!
