  1. The Saab and some Vauxhalls had the F40 box which was miles better agree the M32 was not the best all round the F40 coped pretty well as long as you didn't abuse it. Not really any issues with the Kuga regards the Haldex or much else really as its 65 plate, just didn't like the car after the first week tbh and bugged me ever since with various niggles, that's why I'm chopping it in although have better price no p/x for it as selling private if buyer doesn't let me down and will be looking to do better deal on Skoda on a no px basis
  2. hi Thanks for welcome. the Saab is indeed based on the 1.9 JTD z19dth, fiat engine although it was the TTid twin turbo (actually a bi turbo) where as Vauxhall didn't adopt the bi turbo until approx 2012 in the insignia which was based on a 2.0l version before that it was just the 1.9 tid standard Fiat engine single turbo. The TTid had strengthened internals to cope with additional stresses/heat which was good to map. the common map was 210bhp but could be taken to just under 240bhp with a few noughties done i.e dpf removal, which also took it from the standard 400Nm over 460 Nm. They did suffer from the EGR and the location of the DPF although partly due to the high gearing in 6th which a lot of people cant wait to get in. Its a car that I cant part with tbh, shame same thing couldn't be said re the Kuga and looking forward to getting into a Skoda hoping to place an order next week sometime.
  3. what is fuel consumption like and does it have more than ample power through the range ? although I considering manual at this point figures shouldn't be to far off
  4. another question re the dvd drive ... is it possible to watch dvd's and can you disable so you got the option of watching dvds on the move ?
  5. Thanks the tech goodies on the Octy 3 L&K kinda swayed me a bit especially at the slighter lower price which would see a greater increase if I was to spec a couple of options on the S3 SEL But in real life how much would I actually take advantage of all this tech when the novelty wore off lol I must admit I slivered nicely into the S3 :-) but the Octy 3 being a similar size to the Saab 9-3 which the other half is use to driving hence why I would be considering the actual safety options above . the led + package was I think just me trying to take 30+ yrs of my life lol although kinda like it lol think ive enough pleasure with the saab and pug hence why I wouldn't like to be tempted with the 280 as it may sway me and just trying to stay practical and fuel conscious with what would become the main family car. AS for the kuga biggest mistake ive made for a long time imo
  6. excuse my ignorance does anybody know what the differences between MY17 and MY18 especially on the SEL apart from as I understand going to the 9.2" Columbus, are the diesel engines still the same especially the 150 variety or the 220 TSI am I correct in thinking the oil burner will become the 140 and the petrol 230, any changes the 190 oil burner. Lastly will the price decrease or rise for each MY18 model and the factory options price alter ?
  7. So correct me if I'm wrong according to the configurator if I order from this point on I will receive a MY18 ? Please note Our website and configurator reflects Model Year 17 specifications (including fuel efficiency and emissions performance) and pricing. These models are available from UK stock only. Model images shown are for illustration purposes only and may vary from UK specification. Factory orders from 28 April 2017 will reflect Model Year 18 specification and pricing. Please speak to your local ŠKODA retailer for more information.
  8. As the title suggests I'm looking at either the Superb 3 SEL or the Octy 3 L&K and would appreciate some advice/opinions of what you all think to be the better. It is worth noting the Octy 3 L&K is coming in just over £700 cheaper as the dealer has one in stock, The S3 would be a factory order. I'm thinking of the 150 Tid in either variety and has anybody got any real life fuel consumption figures on both is it adequate power wise ?. I would also be interested in maybe the 2.0 TSI 220 S3 depending on real life fuel consumption. I wouldn't really be interested in the S3 280 or Octy 3 VRS as its going to be a family plodder more than anything, and I have my Saab TTID which is mapped to 238bhp and a Pug 205 GTI totally race prepared 320bhp which is used mainly for track although is road legal if one must. Ok now down to a few options if I went the S3 route and would value your opinion if anybody has them as standard fit or optional extras 1, would you recommend the park assist or a rear camera and front sensors which would be more expensive than just adding park assist this one is from a woman's point of view lol 2, has anybody successfully added a rear camera and front sensors as a aftermarket thought and is the camera a cheaper option aftermarket than specing it as a factory option. 3, the LED package plus, although a gimmick kind of a classy touch lol What is the S3 like in the back seat wise as the Mrs will be in the back when on family outings with the kid as she is pondering whether a more upright back would be more comfortable i.e what the Kuga has more upright as she does get the odd twinge in her back. Thanks in advance and I'm sure there will be more questions lol after I test drive both cars next week although I'm blown away by both cars tbh
  9. Hi all, looking into getting my first Skoda either a Superb 3 SEL or Octy3 L&k and will post any queries shortly in the relevant section. I have a 65 plate Ford Kuga TDCI Tit X AWD 180 which will be going in exchange for a shiny new Skoda. I also have my beloved 08 plate Saab 9-3 TTid and continue being an active admin member on a Saab forum.
