  1. This is the one only function I will dearly miss on my Kuga when the S3 arrives, and to anyone considering this option don't, just do it you will never ever regret it and worth every penny Gizmo is charging. Just fortunate for those who live down the road and a little less fortunate for those not so close, and can honestly say if you cant get it done local at a reasonable price its still worth an overnight stay or better still make a weekend of it there's plenty to do and see around the surrounding area's As with everything parental supervision is everything but if its anything to go by with the Kuga you will have no concerns, its like going through an IMO car wash in olden days you think the dryer is going to hit you and just before you close your eyes it doesn't lol
  2. I feel sorry for you especially having a Motability car and giving it the care of your own car (few and far between) these days imo Its not worth making yourself bad for just in form Motability re any issues you have that don't get fixed better to write with recorded delivery and in can never come back to/on you at the end of 3 years. It takes somebody that has cared for their car for years to neglect a car, its the principle regardless of whos car it is. At the end of the day once informing Motability of the issues and they still don't give a **** you can hold your head up high knowing you have done everything in your power. the main thing Keep your health and just think "if you cant beat them join them"
  3. Not having much luck are you mate in the way of unnecessary stress/hassle, So basically the other dealer made a fraudulent claim on something they did not fit maybe another phone call to Motability/Skoda U.K stating the word fraudulent or better still in writing. Did you just not go back to the other dealer to have it fitted when you changed dealers ? even so if you did and the other dealer has it in stock it they can transfer a warranty claim to a new dealer.
  4. https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/ as said before customer service has the edge on the others from past experience with my Saab and others on here
  5. https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/box-details.php?id=15 all info on there what it does, other manufacturers do them but these have A1 customer service
  6. next they will be saying all windows are triple glazed
  7. MY18 starts from week 22 May 29th all the changes are in this topic, the latter pages are more accurate to those changes as the Skoda's My18 configurator came about so that's available to look at on Skoda website depending on model you want
  8. Thanks all for your replies As said the Passat in sports mode felt loads better than the same engine in the Superb, so will try sports mode first just for comparison then probably opt for the peddle box from dtuk anyway, also thinking of the tuning box with car having 3yrs warranty
  9. agree but I wiouldnt want to buy a car that'is not driven under optimal conditions and not been serviced for 20k, which regardless of the service regime would not see this millage in car driven this way, unless of course the dealer does not understand the manufacturers brands recommendats that they are selling
  10. depends a high millage car run in optimal conditions on a variable service can be a good buy a low millage car that's never being run at optimal conditions can result in more engine wear due to the ngine not having time fully lubricate all the internals regardless of service regimes likewise a locally driven car with the odd long run set on a variable could get its oil changed after 8k intervals catch 22 when buying used lol
  11. Agree but would have put it slightly different it will measure the oil quality and will indicate a service up to 20k when the oil has lost its lubricating properties, it also measures the number of starts the car makes in determining the oil quality. Lets say someone is on variable and does a lot of local driving the car can generate a service from any point (ive seen this as low as 8k) if this is the case the car will receive a oil change and fluid check/top up if necessary only not items you would see in a major service such as filter changes etc. The fixed and variable services are completely different and cannot be confused with each other. IMO variable servicing was set up for the fleet/lease industry doing long mainly motorway type journeys where the car is run in optimum conditions and anybody that cares about the car or intend to keep it long term should go fixed annual servicing (10k or x miles which ever is sooner) Motability cars should be set to fixed as most owners carry out local journeys with a lot of start stopping and ive never known Motability to decline a oil change service regardless whether the car is set to fixed or variable
  12. I'm not going to go into the if and buts re kwik fit but as per the oil service I didn't expect Motability to be the problem and assume it must be a Skoda communication breakdown somewhere along the lines as my parents have never had an issue with their Motability cars non of which were Skoda btw As I see it it was unnecessary stress for rainmaker all for nothing in the end as its getting sorted know off topic the garage I work in does the various servicing maintenance for various manufacturers in the emergency services and cover manufacturers warranty. these vehicles are issued 5years warranty as part of the deal from the manufacturer, if we stepped out of line such as in rainmakers case and something went wrong the warranty would become null and void and up to us to foot the bill. if we listened to the dealers and something went wrong the first thing the manufacturer would say is you should have asked us not the dealer so its your fault leaving us hung and dry with zero support.
  13. thought it was and I was missing out on something here lol as its an option in the U.K. ive ordered the SEL so same as your Style In the U.K trim levels are S, SE, SE Business SE L Executive and L&K. The Sport line I haven't added in to the list
  14. if I am correct rainmakers car does not drive under optimal driving conditions as he does a lot of local start/stop driving, so his vehicle should be set to fixed every 12m or 10k whichever comes first. Which in that case cant remember rainmakers mileage but its due for a service regardless with it being 13mnths old and due to his driving style
  15. With today’s advanced long-life engine oils, time and distance are no longer fair indicators of when a service is required. Under optimal driving conditions a car may not need any attention for up to two years or 30,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first). Or, on the other hand, if a car has frequent cold starts and many short trips, it may benefit from a service after only 12 months or 15,000 kilometres. How it works Your ŠKODA has inbuilt sensors which monitor engine oil quality. When the oil degrades to a point where it will soon affect engine performance, the sensor activates the message on your dashboard informing you that your car needs a service. Every new ŠKODA has the Variable Service Interval setting activated. If you would prefer, your vehicle can be serviced under the traditional time and distance regime (every 12 months or 15,000 kms), your dealer will discuss both options and can set it to how you like before delivery. http://www.skoda.co.nz/why-us/variable-service
  16. tbh I think it is disgusting over the price of a oil change its not what you would expect
  17. This, I would also send to mobility if indeed they are the problem which they could not be, as I said previous my parents never had an issue with the motability car when it went in for oil change at 8k
  18. Totally agree Hypothetically lets say it was on fixed servicing it would be due a service after 12months or x amount of miles whichever came first got to be a misunderstanding somewhere
  19. Yes id keep nagging them mate they will soon get sick of it and pass it on to a senior, who no doubt are in the same room, I bet your message as not even been passed on tbh...How about putting it in writing to them
  20. is the Style equal to the SE L or L&K in the U.K the only reason I'm asking is its showing tri zone and sure its still an option in The U.K on the SEL
