  1. yes agree with you on variable and fixed. agree its more of a Motability issue/misunderstanding in this case, just curious how rainmaker goes on when Motability call him back as I said earlier my parents never had this issue with their ford
  2. sorry miss read your question rushing getter little one ready for school lol
  3. hi tigermad there are 2 types of service a minor or major aka intermediate and full A minor/intermediate is when the oil is changed and other fluid levels checked and topped up as needed A major/full service is as above but with the rest of the car checked i.e brakes etc There are a a few things ive missed but this should give you the jist of things
  4. Vag group must be the only ones to own highly scientific test kit which are not cheap and doubt that they do actually own anything of the sort tbh. I am foreman in a workshop that maintains emergency service vehicles and we don't have such a kit. Obviously these vehicles have a high service regime of 3-4 times a year but if the oil service comes on in between the oil is changed no issues. fwiw I'm a Auto spark by trade. I think the other issue you mention is more down to Motability as the op has encountered so technically its not his car and is free to buy a fluffy dice if he so wishes although my parents who are on Motability have never had an issue with an oil service, who knows the real reason I don't know just asked the question
  5. Dealer told me so yours should be able to advise you..i think it means when your car is given a build date and when certain options can no longer be added as I went in to add traffic sign recognition as I wanted the multifunction camera so I could enable other options via VCDS that use it, and he checked on computer and said I can still add it as its not reached status 20 Someone with more knowledge in the brand will tell us different if that's not the case
  6. I can find this re fixed intervals that correspond to VW 10k miles http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/simply-fixed/default/ but nothing on variable although I came across this on variable servicing but no mention of up to 18k as vw or any mention at all on mileage http://www.heritageskoda.co.uk/service/regimes/
  7. LED exterior light package (LED rear lights high and LED registration plate illumination) for the SE-L and above
  8. Hell knows with them could of been something like this....
  9. just posted something similar in a new topic and looks as though its true, cant believe a manufacturer would make such a simple mistake or there I suppose I can
  10. After reading Rainmakers recent topic on servicing due to the car requiring a oil service and being refused by the dealer to carry it out whether or not its a Motability car he has or not is irrelevant imo, I went on the search and came across this posted on a Vaux site regarding a Skoda on Motability and wondered if there is any truth behind it....... Posted: 06 Dec 2016 at 7:11pm Right then, it's a software issue. The service indicators on Skodas are still triggering on 12,000 miles. However since 2015 and the use of fully synthetic oils and some engine tweaks the first service is not actually due until anywhere between 10-20,000 miles normally the latter with the second service at 20,001-40,000 miles. According to Paul (my mate who is a Skoda Dealer Principal) the technicians will have checked the oil's condition and will simply reset the service indicator if no intervention is needed. At the first actual service they will update the monitoring software to reflect 'Skoda LongLife' Rainmakers initial topic https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/432815-bloody-incompetent-dealers-again/
  11. Servicing Your car needs regular servicing to keep it running well. The cost of each service, and any maintenance repairs necessary due to general wear, are included as part of your worry-free package. Servicing will either be at set times during your lease agreement, or when your car has been driven a certain number of miles. What's included in your service Additional repairs Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) servicing What’s included in your service For all car servicing and maintenance, you should take your car to the dealer that has been assigned as your managing dealer. Services will usually include the following checks: Engine oil Windscreen washer fluid Engine cooling system Lights Tyre tread Tyre pressure - including the spare tyre The service for each type of car will be different. Other checks for brake pads or filters, for example, will be looked at if it is recommended by the manufacturer. For adaptations fitted at the start of your lease through the Motability Managed Adaptations Programme, your installer will notify you if any regular maintenance is required. If this is the case, it will be included as part of your worry-free package. If your dealer hasn’t contacted you when a service is due, give them a call. You may get a Good Condition Bonus at the end of your lease if your car has been well looked after. Waiting for your car The length of a service can vary so you may need to organise transport home to avoid a long wait at the dealership. If you’ve given the dealership three weeks’ notice from when you booked a service or repair, they will give you a standard courtesy car . If the courtesy car is not suitable for your needs we will try to make other arrangements. Keep a record Please make sure that your dealer completes and stamps your car’s service book after every service. Keep this safe and in good condition as it may be needed in future to prove the car has had regular servicing
  12. My parents have a Focus TDCI on Motability the service light came on at 8K as they only potter in it, they took it to the dealer who booked it in for a oil change and specified it along with cost on the service sheet obviously FOC to them.
  13. May be/not worth mentioning some 12 months later according to the brochure and configurator to get the rear lights as seen on the SE L and above on the SE (suspect the same on the SE business) although not an option on the S, you have to add the "LED package rear" option £150
  14. Designed probably for LHD vehicles imo so unfortunate for us with RHD vehicles
  15. Id be interested in this as well I know about 9.2 display and the knob on the DSG but whats this different trim about any pics please
  16. My dealer told me yesterday so maybe worth asking yours
  17. i know what you all mean with the new 9.2" finger print magnet screen, but I cant see me having anything other as mine has not even had status 20 yet. I will be on the hunt for something similar to what they use on mobiles these day to cut down/prevent it becoming a finger print magnet even if I have to cut it to size. Failing that theres always a microfiber cloth after every journey I test drove the Passat sport with the virtual dash before ordering the Superb and was not sure on it but suppose we will all have to accept it a few years down the line.......it would have been every boy racers dreams in the 70s and 80s lol
  18. Ordered mine SEL with couple of extras on 2nd May so hope my build week will be wk27
  19. Awaiting delivery of a S3 SEL based in Neath
  20. Which involves a simple VCDS intervention only if so well worth me buying VCDS unless I took a day out to come to you
  21. is there anything else VCDS can add with the camera in place apart from TSR which would have to be paid for to enable me to get the camera without extra modules etc
  22. Can you enable TSR function with VCDS on the SEL Exec or doesn't the SEL come with the multifunction camera as standard with certain options disabled. I would of thought it was there for the rain sensing wipers. As I only ordered my car last week it would be an easy option to add for £85 although this seems cheap if extra hardware was required in this case a rear view mirror with camera in thats whats got me thinking its just a simple turn on at the factory or by VCDS or am I missing something here?
