  4. 2007 “56” Skoda Octavia Vrs 2.0tfsi 61,500 miles Tax: 01/02/14 MOT: 15/02/14 Service History: Full Skoda Service history as below: 16/10/08: 8225 @ DM Keith Limited, Huddersfield 24/09/09: 15569 @ Hobin Skoda, Manchester 28/09/10: 23205 @ Hobin Skoda, Manchester 26/07/11: 26608 @ Hobin Skoda, Manchester 25/01/12: 35960 @ Valley Services, Llandysul 20/08/12: 44595 @ Huw Lewis Tyres, Aberystwyth 22/01/13: 54118 @ Benfield Skoda, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Initially car was on a variable service management plan but after I took ownership (July 2011) I swapped to fixed service intervals. Race blue hatchback with these optional extras from new: Jumbo box: rear electric windows, dual zone climate control and centrally mounted temperature controlled arm rest/storage box. Rear parking sensors Maxidot I’ve owned the car since July 2011 and it has been the main means of transport for my partner and I. I must admit I did under estimate the mileage we’d cover when we bought it but even so, the mileage is still a lowly 61,400 miles (slight variation as still in use). As can be seen above the car was very low mileage from new. It had Lifeshine applied at new and again when I bought it in July 2011. I have continued to regularly keep the paintwork in good condition. The cambelt was changed prior to purchase in July 2011 @ 26,608 miles. Following advice from here I swapped to fixed service intervals in order to keep the engine in tip top condition. The engine oil level is checked regularly but it has never been excessive in consumption. Fuel consumption hovers around 30mpg, and I have logged a comprehensive number of miles on fuelly, which you can access via my signature. The car remains mechanically standard with only 6 modifications during my ownership: vRS decals on brake callipers Bolero headunit (including new Canbus unit) SuperSkoda honeycombe grille (I have the original) Stubby aerial from VW Polo Genuine SKODA rear mudflaps PastyBoy badges on the wheels. I went for the black/silver badge, much like the new one. Also included in the sale are the dog guard and boot protector which I have. Boot floor is in really good condition under the mat. I also have some Thule roofbars which can be included in sale if desired for the right price. The tyres are all Avon ZZ3s. 3 are new and were fitted on 11/06/13 @ 60,054 miles. I have had the console bushes replaced recently too on 24/07/13 @ 60,851 miles. All new brakes (discs and pads) since January. Tax has just been renewed too. This car really is good to go. Unfortunately the lacquer is peeling on the rear spoiler. I have purchased some high-quality carbon fibre wrap and it was my intention to wrap the spoiler. Willing to include this in the same. The bodywork is in a generally good condition but there are some marks to the front of the car from stone chips/flies/etc. There is a scuff on the rear bumper, a small scratch on the front bumper and also a scratch on the rear door where someone hit it in a car park. I genuinely believe this is a very good condition car and has come from a loving home. My partner and I are members of Briskoda (freedom) and also the Skoda Owners Club G.B., the car has featured in a few issues of the SOCGB magazine too. Last year we took the Octavia round Europe and stopped off at the Skoda factory – so she has been home. I must confess to being absolutely in love with this car but unfortunately it doesn’t fit in to my lifestyle anymore and so I think the time has come to let it go and allow someone else to enjoy it. Both keys are present. I am willing to deliver if buyer covers costs. Viewing is welcome. Please note that I work away for 2 weeks at a time. Please be aware finance is still outstand on the car – through VW Financial Services. If desired, the buyer can pay the remaining balance directly to VWFS to avoid concerns of fraud etc. Keen to see it go to a loving home so hence advertising it here. £5,750 Reply here or PM me for further information.
  5. Welcome. Nice car. Also in Wales.
  6. Slippery slope. Often more about looking better than visibility though. To throw a spanner in the works... they are the modern day equivalent of front fogs back in the mid 00s Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

  8. I preordered mine in January. I can't wait for it! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Thanks, link is about a Columbus but I have seen your thread. So there is a BKD and a BMM version of the PD140? How would you know the difference? Do the abbreviations stand for anything in particular?
  10. All that said, any experience of the 1.8tsi engine?
  11. I've seen the 1.8tsi Scouts and I must admit I like the idea of having a chipped 1.8tsi with 200bhp! But, one of the reasons for the vRS going is the fuel consumption relative to the miles done and I am lead to believe a diesel is better off-road - not that we will be doing serious off-roading but you know. And lastly, I'd rather have a pre-FL and I think the only petrol option then was the 2.0fsi?
  12. Thanks for the replies. Yes, my biggest concern with moving from petrol to diesel is the introduction of a DPF. Does anyone have a ball park figure of the costs involved in a DPF removal? I'd be interested in doing that as most of our journeys are country lanes and farm tracks so not really the sort of places where you can "blow the cob webs" out so to speak. Thanks for the replies. It would seem then that there isn't anything inherently wrong, but the value of the car should be lowered accordingly to account for anticipated repair bills?
  13. Evening all. I am looking to change car, to go from an Octavia vRS petrol to an Octavia Scout diesel. Those which I can more easily afford are around the 58 reg (2008) but have mileages hoovering, if not over, 100,000 miles. The cars fit my needs in every way but I am slightly put off by this. I do roughly 15,000 miles annually so 3 years down the line the mileage will be at 145,000 miles. This will again affect the value adversely but also mean that certain things will have needed replacing and potentially broken. Given there would be a certain degree of finance on the car, additional pains and woes aren't really what I'm after. That said, diesels are renowned for lasting for high mileages, so given the car has been correctly serviced and maintained over its preceding miles and I continue the work, will it really be a problem? It'd be the 2.0 TDI PD 140bhp engine. So my question is two fold really... how well do these engines stand up to high mileage, particularly in Scout form; and secondly, should I put off by high mileage or is it more of a myth? Thanks.
  14. Wheels are on car but can be kept back post scrappage. I think I have some cords. They break very easily. I can take a picture of the hatch tomorrow. Has a dent from memory. As per PM I'll get a picture tomorrow. The boot illumination light? I'll check when back from my hols tomorrow. Light and centre caps fine. Will get pictures for you tomorrow. front seats are in good condition. They are the earlier ones though so slightly different but more comfortable I think. Again, will take pictures tomorrow. 22. Kitchen is my house is from Morris Bros. It was installed in the mid 70s and its still going strong. I do like to support local tradespeople. The only thing I struggle with is local shops for things like bedding, clothing, electricals, etc as the difference in price is normally quite significant. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  23. If your finance is a high rate (12%) would it make more sense to take out a loan to pay off car and then pay back loan at lower rate? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
