Towing without 4x4 or DCC
Standard dampers should something similar to DCC in normal, this is the setting I'm towing 2000kg with. I can't imagine that they would be to soft if you don't fill the luggage and exceeds or getting close to the maximum allowed weight (675kg if I rember correctly?) Try towing with it at least once before you decide to change anything

Build subwoofer in iV Hatchback
Haha, sorry my misstake! I read to fast, you're absolutely right. Wonder what they have put inside the boot sidewall instead?

Build subwoofer in iV Hatchback
Maybe they've changed something? In my -17 Superb estate the sub is located at the same spot as you described. But - even though I don't think it sound good it's not lack of bass that it suffers from. It actually performs really good for what it is - 6,5" woofer if I don't remember wrong. You should be able to get a quite good thump in your car even though it's mostly rumbling in an uncontrolled way.. Try listening to another car with the sub, it might be something wrong with yours?

Decisions decisions...
D3 was the one I drove also, How did you feel your car behaved before your mods? Just curious as I feel that my car has absolutely no control over the wheels (no matter DCC setting) when pushing it on roads that aren't flat as a ironing board... Maybe hope for a new Nissan Stagea 260RS to hit the market

Decisions decisions...
Maybe this is like swearing in the church but.... - Have you driven the Volvo V60 T6 twin engine? Compared to my stock DCC Superb it was in a different league regarding connection with the road, cornering and agility overall. I can't compare to the 3-series but in my opinion it wasn't far behind the BMW F20 1 series, didn't get that gocart feeling as in the F20. Not an expert as I like "floating" around in my cars but it was really a remarkable difference IMHO. Base price 48keur, after discount 43,5keur, after government discount closer to 41keur.

Is there a setting to make steering more direct and sporty?
Not really the same feature - as posted above. The steering ratio is not linear, it reacts about the same around center (straight) as the normal steering but the further you turn the steering wheel the higher the ratio becomes.

Is there a setting to make steering more direct and sporty?
I had a test-drive in a Mini Cooper SE (hybrid), didn't feel that it had that much sharper steering, a little bit more nimble but it's a smaller car, it also felt really artificial compared to the Superb. I have the progressive (i think it's called that) steering - 1 turn each way end to end, maybe that makes a difference to the standard steering in terms of directness? Another way to go is to increase the toe in a little bit to make the car more eager to react (from center), can also make your car feel more nervous and if done wrong or to much increase tyre wear.

S3 Xenon lamp replacement guide
Followed your guide and changed bulbes (xenon) a couple of days ago - difference like night and day Old bulbs has been used for 135K km /3years and had so low output that they were outshined by an old Nissan Micra with halogen and streetlights. As I'm returning the car in a month or so I went for the standard Osram Xenarc bulbs. Biggest concern was the fuse box, it's a really tight fit both for the hand (Size 10) and to get the bulb in and out. I was afraid of damaging the bulb so it took roughly 20 minutes for the left side (left hand drive), right side took 3 minutes. Thanks for a really good guide!

Superb Estate Mk3 for Towing Caravan
I'm towing a 1900kg caravan with my -17 superb 190tdi 4x4 DSG6. Never seen the temp raised no matter outside temperature. I've been sceptical towards the superb as a towcar and actually used another car for towing. But the summer of 2020 we went on vacation with the superb and it was a really good experience. My fear was that the DSG would be a problem in tight campsites but it never struggled or disengaged no matter how much I abused it. I'm still preferring the old school automatics with torque converter for towing but I will never hesitate to use a Superb for towing again.

Uncomfortable Seats
With VCDS or OBD11 you can add a option that automatically moves the seat a few inches backwards when exiting the car, and when seated again pushing "START" it will return to the original position. From memory it's named something like "easy entry" or similar. Sometimes it won't do this automatically, I believe it has to do with whether or not the seat has been adjusted manually after start.

Low dipped and full beam
Are your sure it's working properly? If you start the car and weights it down in the back (two persons maybe). The headlights level will raise a little bit making them throw a little bit further. After a few seconds the auto leveling should return them to the original position. If not, they might be malfunctioning?

Suspension
I think the superb estate is to firm with DCC in sport (L&K), maybe it's less body roll but my mho is that is looses control over the wheels when in Sport. Using Normal mode on twisty uneven road improves the actual handling even though there's more body roll. I'm also a person that thinks the Volvo XC70 (standard chassis) is quite stiff

Tool type
In Sweden they are called "IN12" sockets.

79 500 miles review and good bye to Skoda
Hi. Had my Superb for almost three years covering 79500miles. I've been impressed by the interior space as it fits almost anything you ever could imagine put inside the car. Reliability has been awesome, a broken damper, boot lid lock and some knocking on the front suspension. At one time it wouldn't start but it cured itself after a couple of minutes. I've never been a friend of the driver seat, for my quite heavy body 105kg @177cm it has to little cushioning and the shape of the backrest doesn't do any good for my body. The massage function is a gimmick that's nice to have but I won't miss it. Ventilated seats on the other hand is god send Comfort is ok, to much road and wind noise, with DCC in sport it gets quite stiff but it doesn't improve the handling that much (,normal driving). Comfort mode is my melody - floating around on the road Rear seat must be among the best there is!? Specced the steering that only has two turns end to end, really nice when going slow, parking etc. ACC does what it should, adaptive lane assist and everything working but I've only used them for a couple of hundred miles as I hate the feeling of someone else taking control of the car. 3zone climate control, it's okey but could have better cooling and heating, always keeps this in "sync" and won't miss it a bit. Heater and Skoda connect, heater ok, basic performance and Skoda connect has been really dodgy, never knowing when it will work made me use the remote most of the time. Headlights - low beam ok but high beam is a joke, installed a led bar as I drive on country roads with more forest than people and often when it's dark. Washe fluid tank a little on the small side, would have appreciated 6-8litres capacity. Rear view camera - God send! Really good resolution and functionality no matter how ****ty weather or dark it is. Columbus head unit - really hate the touchscreen. Not that fast but does what it should. Canton - I'm one of those that doesn't like the sound it produces, to much treble and low end, nothing in the middle. Good for electronic music though. Towing capabilities - pretty good actually, nothing to complain about except the DSG when doing tight manouvering. I guess this is common for all brands of these boxes. Haldex - ok performance, programming must differs a bit from Volvo as it feels like it's slower in it's reactions. Never gotten stuck anyway That sums it up - a good and reliable car, everything I complain about is subjective things that matter to me while others couldn't care less. Also the seats surely fits many others perfectly. But where will I go now? I came from a Volvo XC70 (my wife's car now) and will return to Volvo. Just signed the contract for a 2021 V60CC B4 AWD some sort of mild hybrid diesel with a whopping 14hk 48V electric motor It does miss some of the features of the Superb like adaptive chassi, that steering wheel thing, ventilated leather seats etc. But sound level in cabin is lower in the standard model, specced laminated windows all around in my order, makes a big difference in the XC70 and I believe it will in the V60CC also. Seats fits me better, climate control has more oumph for both cooling and heating and the overall finish is a little bit comfier than the Superb (my opinion). Someday I might come back, but for three years from now I will be hanging in different forum. Wish you all the best!

Wouldnt start.....then did...odd!
Had this happen once for maybe 2 years ago. Didn't want to start, just spun the starter, no ignition whatsoever. Kept trying for a few minutes, gave up and went inside to call a tow truck. Remembered that I had the Skoda mobility guarantee and that button to get in touch with someone to help. Went out again to push the button, before I did I thought that it wouldn't hurt trying to start the car ones more before getting in contact with whoever answers that button. One push on start and everything worked as normal, never happened again since that day. Mine is a 2017 L&K Dsg6 190tdi 4x4

To Canton or not to Canton - that is the question?
I wonder if they alter the cut offs when the sub isn't present? Dialing down the sub to lowest settings leaves my car with a sound worthy of an old Felicia.... But in Canton config the whole system relies on the sub taking care of the low frequencies.

I also discovered that it can show as a full battery bar but red instead of green, this appears when my Samsung s20 is in power saving mode.

Towing with a Superb estate 150 TDI
I've been talking down on the superb as a towcar before but my opinion has changed during this vacation I tow a Polar 680 with a total weight of 1900kg. it sure feels that there's a lot of weight behind the car but it doesn't struggle at all (I have the 190tdi 4x4). It's really important to match the weight over the towbar with the recommendations, if you don't it's really dangerous. Superb has quite a long rear overhang which makes it "spungy" with a heavy trailer or caravan attached to it. Overall I'm pleased with the experience but I do miss the TC gearbox from our XC70 when reversing and manouvering in tight spots.

To Canton or not to Canton - that is the question?
Depends of what kind of sound signature you like. If you're after a natural and authentic sound I would say that Canton isn't for you. If you like the sound of Bose and other sub/satellite systems then Canton is a huge improvement of the standard system. In my ears Canton does miss quite a lot mid frequencies, the frequencies that gives a snare drum body and a lot of darker voices are presented here. The highs are quite clear but would benefit of a slight roll off at the upper highs as they distort quite a bit IMHO. Overall it's a ok system compared to many other cars, never listened to Kias sound but I can't imagine Canton being less good. Compared to BMW and Volvo mid and premium alternatives Canton falls short in my ears. As you wrote - it's subjective and differs from person to person. I like an open and natural sound signature with a little emphasis to the lowest frequencies. As an example I like how Sennheiser present the sound in their headphones
