  1. I do believe I have the same fitted. It's been on now over 2 years and is still secure. Does require more back to black treatment now due to weathering.
  2. I will be rotating my tyres this week owing to the rears hardly showing any wear after 15k on my 220 sportline. The front tyres are wearing a little to quickly for my liking hence the reason. Do other owners still do this also?
  3. Not all have heated seats. Optional on some models. Standard on others. The superb is not full of gadgets and options by default.
  4. Mine does it. I thought it was a free noise that came with the noise creak and rattle option seeing as mine creaks more again and so did every other Mk3 superb I drove as courtesy cars.
  5. Could be hardware but as you say also they installed software prior. To me sounds like they made a mess of that task and it's more a case of guesswork fault tracing.
  6. I think the dealer will respond this is an isolated case they have not heard of prior and I hope it is. This may well be another clever skoda feature i will be switching off.
  7. Radio died as in the radio module of the infotainment system? I.e., unable to receive any radio signal but everything else works on the infotainment system? Or has the infotainment totally stopped working as in died? Black screen on infotainment system?
  8. Maybe you should comment to the service manager that instead of offering to potentially charge you £153 maybe they should focus on putting right the repair thsy attempted last time which appears to have been pointless. Also is a device failure part of the 6 month (if it all falls apart we don't care) warranty? I doubt it is so I would expect a warranty repair as standard. Have you traced where the fuse is for the radio? Simple steps first. Also as someone mentioned the £12 is for insurance. Prove your insurance is equal to what the dealer offers then the courtesy car is free.
  9. I do not disagree. I did read once that the auto function works irregardless of stalk position.
  10. Do you want an exciting drive? Do you wish for better econony? I would move away from diesels and SUVs if you want exciting drives and better economy. The 220 superb executive will be quicker than your current vehicle but economy will be mostly the same as what you experience now. I doubt also that the superb executive will be 'exciting'. Its a large car and that will be obvious when driving as it rolls and lurches around corners. If you get excited about load space then it will make you happy.
  11. Mine did that yesterday but in fairness it was possibly a little full and also the correct skoda procedure for closing the glove box was not followed, which is two hands on the cover and smash upwards. It's little idiosyncrasies like this occurance that blight otherwise a perfectly average car.
  12. I'm for colourful cars as the trend of white, black and grey for the bulk of manufacturers is dull. Having said this I do not like the dragon green on the superb though I did view one in a dealers showroom years ago and it looked impressive and eye catching briefly. There is a metallic green lambo urus near to me and that works well though but the design of that car is less conservative than that of the superb.
  13. A curious tick option on the infotainment system. Automatic wiping in the rain. Some state this functions when the wiper stalk is in the OFF position. Some disagree. I'm with the latter as during todays heavy rain the automatic wiping function (ticked on) only operated with the stalk in the first UP position.
  14. If the ACC is calibrated initially (when manufactured) then ask for the original calibration certificate for your vehicles ACC. It should be available... If the certificate is not available then request from your dealer to calibrate the system at their cost to the factory as built requirement and provide the certificate, stating that as the previous calibration certificate is not available you can confidently assume it was never calibrated at the point of manufacture. Someone is right about the 6 month warranty clause though, as this gets Skoda out of a lot of warranty claims and costs. It sort of advertises the fact that skoda cannot deal with ever more complex technology (or a lack of willingness to purchase suitable diagnostic equipment) and knowledge of poor assembly at the factory. I would hate to be a technician at a skoda dealer-never ending queue of warranty claims and poorly assembled cars requiring remedial work. It's for you to really argue your case - maybe request that skoda remove the ACC system at their cost? After all its not working as intended thus has some inherent quality failing which is affecting other cars.
  15. 4 people. We have a large dog also and I find I can fill the boot of the superb easy enough when going on holidays with the family. Appears the Tarraco (taco) has a lot of equipment as standard and will no doubt shed a load of its list price on owing to its badge. Should make for some good deals?
  16. Any opinions with regards to the new SEAT Tarraco? I was quite suprised by its looks and the equipment level is very good and includes digital cockpit. Seems very good value? Had my Superb just over 2 years now and the warranty will be expiring shortly. Its a fine enough car but for a 'sportline' the drive quality is poor in lower gears, and I have adjusted to the build quality hence I'd expect the same quality on the SEAT yet would get more equipment. Any thoughts?
  17. Spoke to my nearest skoda dealer mechanic who has seen this problem a number of times on octavia and superb models.
  18. Really it should be a mandatory recall by skoda to remove the discs and replace with ones of improved quality.
  19. But it kept us kids out playing and not stuck in front of games consoles!
  20. Slight rusting? The superbs discs are an engineering marvel...I'm pretty sure they rust whilst being fitted on the cars. Back to the point. My car has done the same after being left for longer periods. Some judicious use of the rear brakes cures and has stripped off most of the surface scoring marks and rust and they look much cleaner now. I admire skodas engineering solutions! They, in my opinion fit equipment and parts that are 'just' adequate. Face value the car has it all but beneath the surface its a masterstroke of being built to the the lowest possible price. Good car for the money. Not superb, more like an Octavia +.
  21. My 2016. Looking better after some paint. 14000 miles onky.
