  1. The other thing I found when I put my full size spare onto the car when having a ding fixed was that ACC didn't function. This was due to the wheel rotation sensors related to ABS detected different rotational speeds between the spare and the other 3. This is due to the slightly different outside diameters of the spare and the others. As soon as the original was fitted the ACC worked again. But I wouldn't be without a spare. Much better than a tin of emergency gunk. So it can be a pain driving a distance if you are used to ACC.
  2. The estate does have an enormous boot even with the seat backs up. I guess you already have one and found that the dogs could do with more space?
  3. Clear the fault code and run the car for a while. If it reoccurs take it into the dealer.
  4. Yes I know but just quoting what it said on the website.
  5. It has been taxed to 01 May 2019 according to vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk and it doesn't show up as needing an MOT yet. But other than that no idea.
  6. OK Dave understood. My guess is they are Pirelli P7s which are not the grippiest of tyres especially in the higher powered variants of the Superb III. But if you could check when you get back and let us know.
  7. A pedalbox will transform the car and you will perceive a vast difference. I have the DTUK+ and it really makes a difference. As mentioned it does not magically give you a more powerful car but makes it more responsive to your accelerator foot. I have mine mounted in the little cubby box on the drivers side and after setting it to suit me I now never touch it.
  8. MirrorLink does not work on every Android phone though. You must have got lucky as my Samsung Galaxy J5 didn't work. Checking with Skoda's phone compatibility checker https://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com/ also concurred that MirrorLink isn't supported on the J5.
  9. The internet all seem to say the interface is very similar although I’ve not seen any demos yet. iOS 12 “might” bring 3rd party apps to the table like Waze and Google Maps. Only time will tell. The good thing is that Skoda OneApp displays and works great on car play. It works on Android but never displayed on the infotainment screen thru android auto.
  10. Yeah looking forward to that too. I've just changed from Android on my works phone to my own iphone and was disappointed that both waze and google maps don't work on carplay with IOS11. They worked great on Android! Roll on IOS12.
  11. LOL. I have had mine a day over 12 months and only found the velco backed angle thingies in the sub woofer compartment that stop things sliding about in the boot last week!
  12. 12 months. I was built late July 2017 and delivered to me in mid August 2017.
  13. @john999boy I think I have interpreted the manual correctly. ACC doesn't function when you change the mode to Speed Restriction - at least on my L&K maybe others could concur. As to the lights in door handles does anybody know what that is? I read it as door mirrors so my mistake.
  14. Ken here it is https://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/ Choose the superb and your 280 engine from the pulldowns. Then go for the DTUK® PEDAL BOX PLUS Dead easy to fit and hide it in the little cubby box near the light switch.
  15. My L&K has illuminated door handles. It lights up an area around the floor below the door. Handy for spotting the puddle of water that formed after you parked it up or dog doo . The speed restrictor can be set in preference to the ACC and you can dial in whatever top speed you want. Then when you reach that preset speed it won't exceed it. However a full press of the gas pedal will override it to get you out of trouble. Mercedes had that years ago and many cars have it nowadays. I never use it and prefer to set the cruise speed with the ACC and let the radar control it. That carwow ad probably means BiXenon headlights with LED daytime running lights/indicators rather than solely LED headlights.
  16. You can program it using VCDS or OBDELeven. I found it made no difference to the 2 litre TSI. I got a DTUK pedal box and it transformed the car.
  17. It displays on the infortainment screen the speed you are travelling, how long you been going, average speed and fuel consumption. It also shows which indicator is currently flashing. Not worth activating - a bit like lap timer!
  18. L&K but I think they stopped fitting the tuner after 2016 as my MY2017 doesn't have it.
  19. Probably. I'm led to believe that it works OK with the DVD player in an L&K but remember it is illegal in the UK. The 1986 Construction and Use Regulations said this: "109.—(1) No person shall drive, or cause or permit to be driven, a motor vehicle on a road, if the driver is in such a position as to be able to see, whether directly or by reflection, a television receiving apparatus or other cinematographic apparatus used to display anything other than information— (a) about the state of the vehicle or its equipment; (b) about the location of the vehicle and the road on which it is located; (c) to assist the driver to see the road adjacent to the vehicle; or (d) to assist the driver to reach his destination. (2) In this regulation “television receiving apparatus” means any cathode ray tube carried on a vehicle and on which there can be displayed an image derived from a television broadcast, a recording or a camera or computer." The regs probably have been amended now to include any type of screen capable of displaying moving video, But notes a to d give exemptions to what we now call infotainment systems, head up displays (infra red enhancing systems that make the view of the road ahead clearer at night) and sat navs.
  20. On MY2017 Driving School mode MIB2 Mirror DIp Heated Seats Memory High Beam Memory Lock/Unlock acoustic confirmation DRL setting in head unit Video in motion Headlight basic settings Brake pad replacement Driving school mode MIB1 Lap Timer GaugeTest - Needle Sweep Oil temperature in DIS Oil service reset High Beam Assist DRLS off with handbrake Windows function from remote Brake discs drying MIrrorlink in motion Refuel quantity in dashboard Headlight washer Discover engineering menu XDS interaction Seat belt warning Open door alarm Hill start assist Optical parking system Air recirculation memory Auto folding mirrors Battery charge level Beware not all of these work if you don't have the correct hardware or may already be enabled if your car has one of the higher specs. High beam assist works well if you have the necessary hardware (camera and bi xenons). You can activate quite a few things by coding too. Although I can't help with that there are a number of threads on the forum devoted to it. The app is a free download and you can look for yourself with whatever model/year you have before you buy the module.
  21. I can leave it for a week. I don't drive the car all the time as I work from home with no need to travel. It remembers.
  22. I have P7's on 19" rims. While not really that noisy they lack grip in damp conditions, especially when trying to put so much torque through the fronts alone (forget launch control with P7s on a 220 FWD car - it is rubbish), so I will probably change them to a different brand. There are many threads in this particular forum about tyres and what people have found to be good. Have a search.
