  1. It always is persistent on my L&K. It always remembers the last mode it was in and the gearbox remembers too. Mine is a DCC suspension with DSG gearbox though so that might be the difference. Some people have noted that it remembers the driving mode when set in E but the gearbox doesn't. That isn't the case with mine for example as "E" appears on the driving mode and gearbox after a complete restart (iginition off, getting out, locking doors, unlocking and restarting etc).
  2. Yes mine works from about 40m away too.
  3. Yes that is the voice enhancement system - nothing to worry about it is normal. As the previous poster said you can turn it off if desired.
  4. It seems to have something like an electrically controlled actuator that locks the wheel and column just like a key equipped car. You hear it click I think a few seconds after you have sat in the car with the Kessy on your person. Then the wheel is free to rotate.
  5. I cant see what was wrong with the simple answer I gave to @xman question!
  6. Glad to hear you got it sorted. The initial description of it with the follow up in the thread reminded me of another thread about rodents chewing through the wiring harness causing similar symptoms. I can't remember who posted that one but hopefully the same hasn't happened to you.
  7. Try the double click and hold. It should work from a greater distance or inside the car.
  8. This method (double press-hold) definitely works on my MY2017 Kessy equipped car. Sorry it didn't work for you.
  9. Close the boot from remote when inside the car by pressing the boot close button (on the remote) twice in quick sucession and holding it down on the second press. Only one caveat - ignition has to be switched off.
  10. Interesting. I use a "SanDisk Ultra SDHC Memory Card Up to 80 MB/s, Class 10, U1 FFP, 32 GB, Black/Grey" - have a search for that on Amazon - when I needed to update and it works fine everytime. I paid £11.99 August 2017 but it seems to have gone up to 20 quid now. I also use the 64GB version (SanDisk Ultra SDXC Class 10 Memory Card up to 80 Mbps, Frustration Free Packaging - Grey/Black, 64GB) one in each of the SD slots for the music library. Just make sure you don't exceed the 10,000 tracks per memory card limit.
  11. Good that you have found out what you need to know. My 220 has a 360A (69Ah) battery. The codes on the boot floor or stuck on the inside of the handbook will tell you what equipment was originally fitted including the battery. In my case one of the codes was J0T which equates to the 69AH battery. You can then run all those codes through http://igorweb.org/equidec.aspx or http://vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes to find out what you should have.
  12. Forget about the Skoda map update as many have found it is corrupted. Down load the VAG ones - have a look earlier in the thread. They work and are for EU. Sorry about you guys in ROW. You may have to look on VW forums for links to rest of the world downloads.
  13. Had my L&K headlights firmware updated as part of a recall the other day - not that there was anything wrong with them. They did it while I waited, cleaned the car inside and out without any charge. Skoda Eccles near Manchester.
  14. That's not the latest one - it's the one that has been on the portal all year. It should say ECE 2018/2019 and is best downloaded from the VW links.
  15. Here is the link to the VW maps. They work on the Superb III as they are identical. I've already updated the maps on my L&K Columbus. Skoda are always slow with updating the portal and when they are preparing to issue the updates (due for issue August 2018) the VIN number gives the message "There were no maps for the VIN" you are seeing. I see the message on my MY2017 too.
  16. Yes I agree with Kenny. They don't cost much and work really well.
  17. BTW you need a program like 7 zip to extract the files but that is a free download
  18. Updates are due on the Skoda portal in August. They are probably getting it ready and that's why it shows up as no updates for the VIN. Same for me. However I have downloaded the ones from VWportal, installed them on my L&K Columbus and they work fine. Have a search for "VW map updates" on the forum. I think specifically the links to the downloads are in the Octavia forum. The latest one for the Columbus is called P169_N60S5MIBH3_EU.7z
  19. It works on the Superb III L&K Columbus too. Thanks for posting the link.
  20. I have the DTUK+ and have it set at a lively amber+2 LEDs. I have a petrol 220
  21. I cannot answer that question as it is already activated on my car. Maybe somebody else could answer your query. Good luck.
  22. If you want to change gas response get a pedal box as the DCC does not change the accelerator appreciably. Now the following is with reference to a Superb factory fitted with DCC, a petrol engine (2 litres) and a DSG gearbox . When using DCC in comfort mode it changes the suspension so that it smooths out bumps. This is done by changing the damper settings so they are softer. The DSG gearbox also changes its shifting characteristics and tends to get into higher gears so lowering the engine speed. The accelerator response is not really changed. When using DCC in normal mode the suspension dampers stiffen up slightly and again the DSG box changes its characteristics. The accelerator response does not change. When using DCC in sport mode the steering gets slightly heavier, the dampers get stiffer and the DSG box holds onto gears for slightly longer than other modes. The engine revs rise quickly as the car likes to get in lower gears and stay there. Again the accelerator response is not changed but, because the box tries to be in lower gears you are on cam/turbo quicker due to the engine being in the higher rev range, so it feels more responsive. The car needs to have the correct hardware (electrically adjustable dampers) and a DSG gearbox to benefit from DCC. I am not sure if your car has electrically adjustable power steering to make the steering feel heavier or lighter to order. Mine does but it is a L&K model. When you add a pedal box, as the car has a drive by wire accelerator, then the accelerator pedal position can be tuned to suit your own style of driving. The car does then feel much different. A pedal box transforms the car and would be the best thing for you to change the gas response. I have fitted one to mine, as have many on the forum, and it is a simple 5 minute job to do. I personally wouldn't waste effort by trying to activate DCC using VCDS but that is up to you.
