Discontinuation of the Škoda Connect Lite app and its Data Plug
I've been working on an app using Tasker (paid-for app) to replace Connect Lite for tracking mileage. I started using Torque Pro (paid-for app) with a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE (there's other OBD adapters that work with Torque Pro). The Tasker app then uses the AutoSheets plugin (I think this is paid for) to log each trip to Google Sheets. I have this working and it seems to work reliably - though the OBD adapter seems to drain the car's battery if left connected for long periods. Tasker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en_GB Autosheets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autosheets&hl=en_GB Torque pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_GB Another approach I have been trying to work on is to adapt it to use this Android Auto app https://github.com/jilleb/mqb-pm This has the added benefit of working with Android Auto and not needing an OBD adapter. I have just managed to automate extracting the mileage data from the log files this app produces, but not integrated this fully yet. The downside is it only works with MIB2 and MIB 2.5 headunits (not MIB 3). Also the app needs to be launched within Android Auto before the end of the trip. If I manage to get this to some sort of state I consider more widely useable, I can share it on Taskernet. Or perhaps if someone here has some experience of programming in Tasker I can find some way to share what I have done so far....

Electric tailgate opens fully, then lowers a bit?
How did keeping the tailgate in the open position go? I imagine that's the most difficult part. I suppose you could carefully reverse to a solid object with something to protect the edge of the lid. I also wonder if replacing just one side could potentially fix the problem, but I guess there's only one way to find out..

Electric tailgate opens fully, then lowers a bit?
I've had this issue. I opted to let it drop then press and hold the button. Now it doesn't drop slightly after opening.

White noise from rear passenger side tweeter
Been getting an annoying buzzing noise. Have managed to locate it to the rear passenger side tweeter. It's the sort of noise that I know if I mentioned to someone else they would struggle to hear it, but it's definitely not a fignent of my imagination. And it's definitely only the rear passenger nearside. Weird thing is it's still there even with the stereo muted or turned off. Take keys out of the ignition and it's still there, but randomly stops about a minute after removing keys. I've tried rebooting the stereo by holding the power button. With ignition off the noise returns a few seconds after closing a door (but NOT just merely opening it alone). goes away a short delay after the interior lights go off. With everything off a while and doors left closed, if I turn the stereo on even muted, the noise returns.

If I have heated washers, does that mean the windscreen should be heated?
Had my windscreen replaced and the fitter left them hanging out. Had to clip them back in. I assume they unclip relatively easily.

If I have heated washers, does that mean the windscreen should be heated?
These are my buttons. Always assumed it wasn't heated as it just seems to put Aircon on and max blowers directing to the screen. Also never seen "front window htg" in convenience consumers like the rear comes up.

Have SEL executive. Noticed my windscreen washers have wiring going to them, which I assume means they're heated. Does this mean I should have a heated windscreen? Thanks.

Screen wash comes out of front when rear screen wash activated
I'm sure this has to be a common issue but couldn't find anything searching. Thanks.

Boot open warning randomly comes on
Swapped the LEDs in the boot out for the original bulbs and the issue is gone. Wonder if there might be a setting in VCDS to adjust. For connect the roof bulbs were always the original ones (not led).

Boot open warning randomly comes on
But only when any of the interior roof lights are turned on, and the engine is running. I only noticed it after cleaning the car so I'm guessing some stay water has gotten somewhere. It's a 2016 hatchback with electric opening boot.

Help changing adaptive xenon d3s bulb?
Having exactly the same issue. Bulb came out fine. Finding it impossible to get a new bulb in. It feels like it's seated correctly, but whatever I do I can't get the clips to secure the bulb in place. I can see it should simply be a case of squeezing the prongs then pushing them towards the front of the car then releasing. Any hints/tips please? Edit. Used needle nose pliers on the spring clip. This gave me enough purchase to push forwards to engage it properly.

S3 Xenon lamp replacement guide
Have removed bulb but struggling to refit. It's the type with a metal spring clip. Is the bulb meant to come out on its own with no plastic add-on? Any tips on getting the spring to reseat properly with the bulb in position? Thanks. Edit. Used needle nose pliers on the spring clip. This gave me enough purchase to push forwards to engage it properly.

Dismantling rear tail light
I have a dead insect in the bottom right of the outer tail light. Is it possible to remove it from my tail light? I can see 4x tx20 bolts on the rear of the light. Thanks.

Refitting tailgate rubber boot grommet at body on hatchback
Have only succeeded in bending one of the clips in further the wrong way. Currently trying to bend a hook into a metal skewer to try push it from the back that way. Edit: metal skewer bent as shown worked perfectly.

Struggling to identify where the clips are. Haven't been able to find a pic of one removed on the internet.

Refitting tailgate rubber boot grommet at body on hatchback
Just fitting a rear dashcam, and having a difficult time refitting the rubber bit around the plastic insert in the body end. Any tips? Can the plastic insert be forced out? (Then fitted to the rubber grommet and pushed back in)? Thanks.

Engine bay surprises
On my Fabia 1.4 mpi with engine beauty cover removed, I used cable ties to prevent the oil cap from disappearing. One around the bottom going under the pipes, and another going around that and across the top of the oil cap. It could easily be slid to the side to take the cap off.

Just bought and think my car came with incorrect wheels
It's a 2016 SE L executive which was advertised as coming with 18" wheels, and I think should have come with 18" Zenith alloys, but it has these 17" wheels instead. Anyone know what type of wheels they are and if they're the right ones? What type of recourse should I expect from a used car dealer if they're incorrect? (Pretty annoyed with myself I didn't pick up on this detail from the pictures). Thanks.

Looking at used 2018 SE L Exec estate 1.4tsi - thoughts?
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202205195880675 Seems a reasonable balance of spec/features I am looking for, and price for my budget. KESSY and park assist would be nice, but figure can't expect to get everything. Can't help but feel it's paying over the odds, but I figure that's just the used car market right now (with Covid cutting supply of new cars and everyone keeping hold of old ones)?!
