  1. I've had a price back on the VRS, it's £40 higher for an additional year and 5k miles extra, reasonable, but I'd probably have to ask for another quote as it expires tomorrow. I have 6 months left on my current car. No options other than metallic on my order. The 'factory order' deals are coming back very competitively at the moment on that model, it expires on the 30th though. Not sure what Skoda's logic is flooding their order sheets with cars that have engines/drivetrain that are low in stock and the potential WTO tariff.
  2. This is a big concern for me, all this WTO tariff potential and brexit no deal malarky. I'm in the final stages for submitting an order for a SE L 4x4 150 TDI on a PCH, the payments are confirmed but not including any tariff or VED increases. In this instance Skoda themselves purchase the car and are owners, and I pay them on PCH (lease) to pootle around in it. If the car's list price is £35k, and after some extra no deal 10% tariff is added it'll be nearer £38.5k. From experience I won't sign the formal Skoda finance agreement until March when the car is built with a VIN/Reg number, but if there is a WTO tariff that they'll want to hand on to me I'm guessing rather than absorb it themselves (additional £3500 in payment, no thanks) - I'll just tell them I don't want it and just loose a small admin fee from the lease broker. I've not paid broker fee yet so I'm weighing up risking the small fee to get this car on lease or tell them to shove it and extend my current Oct VRS245 lease another year until Brexit is hopefully finalised. Wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation and has any info from their dealer/broker/Skoda? I'll post any info I get back from my broker.
  3. A chap had his damage repaired for £60 - You can see the repair in his pictures on this thread. Some people advise just to block sand the area back with wet and dry, then apply some lacquer to reduce the visibility of it. I have similar damage to one of mine so am going to do this as my wife may end up smacking the same wheel again at some point (Front pass side!)
  4. Hmm I bought a genuine one same as this for mine, I'm glad I've not fitted it yet then, seems a bugger to get off if I needed to! I hope you manage to get it off OK. I might just sell mine it's sitting under the bed still in the packaging, I've kept it incase the wife scratches it before it goes back (Leased)
  5. I've got an Amazon DVD/MP4 player gizmo and the holder for it has two horizontal straps, I just connected the straps in an X shape and hooked over the top of seat; works fine.
  6. I think I'll do the same with mine, offer it to my parents. Out of interest, how did the transfer work? On the last day of the lease your parents paid the balance? Did they give you a quote on the total lease mileage, eg 20k, or did they ask for an accurate mileage at the end of lease?
  7. If I was to extend the lease near or past 3 years you could factor in to the additional lease the price of extending the warranty - https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/warranty - £255. My 245 is on a 2 year lease, I'm really enjoying the car and would consider extending it but that would involve another service, an MOT and definitely tyres - I've got another year to make my decision. I guess you could always try to hand the car back 3 weeks early? Once you sign the car over to BCA I'm assuming your responsibility for it (MOT/Service/Damages) ends?
  8. Okie doke. I'll try out a generic black touch up stick from Halfrauds!
  9. Hi all, Anyone know what paint colour the black is on the black Xtreme's? There a chip on one of mine... are they just plain old black paint that I can get a touch up from Halfords? Cheers.
  10. Cheers, good to know damage can be sorted on these. Mine only has a tiny bit of damage to the diamond cut in one area that I might be able to wetndry then touch up with lacquer
  11. Where abouts in Yorkshire is your refurb guy? Did he fix up your Exteme wheels with the diamond cut damaged for that price?...
  12. I found it under Car > Settings > Light > Travel Mode - I guess the car might automatically do this when the SATNAV see's I'm in France.
  13. Do you know if the 245 with its LED lights has the feature that automatically sets them correctly when you drive abroad? If not can I set it to do so or do I need those ugly beam benders? :)
  14. I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean that after you switch the AC button off you still get a bit of ice cold air? then this is probably due to the residual refrigerant pressure still acting on the system, similar to the way it would if your car switched itself off at traffic lights?
  15. Most injector housings I've seen look like that after a few winters. I recommend you degrease it and clean it best you can then spray it over with ACF-50 to protect it. You can spray it over everything, electric, hoses etc etc. It's used for boats/planes that are used at sea, I use it on my motorbike and it inhibits corrosion and stops the salt ruining your bike. http://www.acf-50.co.uk/
  16. I see the lane assist as an assistant, it just assists with the wheel a little and could save you if you have a momentary lapse of concentration (eg your baby tosses a toy at you haha) ... I still have full control and hands on the wheel. I have never completely trusted it to just drive my car as there are always dodgy white lines and bloody 50mph road work sections. You want to see the state of driving these days ride a motorbike to work, filtering past slow moving traffic I would say that 50%+ of people are on their phones creeping along, veering around in their lane; I smell weed every few minutes and I even filmed a woman using her iPad once! Sooner or later cars will become more autonomous on the motorways, (eg TESLA autopilot, Nissan Leaf, etc)
  17. Mine had its first damage at 1900 miles, must have happened over the past week in a carpark at the supermarket I'm thinking.... It looks like a shopping trolley wheel bumped in to my front lip, you can see the little indentations where something bumped in to it at an angle and slide across :( around 5mm of damage. I have ordered a Skoda touch up kit so hide it, any advice on using it? Build up thin laters and then put some lacquer over it?
  18. I tried it properly on a 400 mile round trip recently and after I got used to it and relaxed my hand a little I found it quite enjoyable.
  19. I think it's a 19inch space saver, the 245 has 340mm front discs (I think) so your average space saver won't go over. I was lucky, read this forum prior to completing my order and it was added for £100 extra.
  20. Hit the 7000 mile mark, nice. Is the adaptive headlight thing (the icon on your display) an option?
  21. It wasn't helping the ride quality at all though haha
  22. Did my first long journey in the car this weekend, car rides well on the roads and was very comfortable, its stiff but I didn't feel tired at all. I managed to tackle some good corners too as it was nice and dry, the car grips very well and the diff helps out when needed... great fun! Car did 45mpg over 200 miles on the way back, 67mph on the cruise control usually mixed with the massive amounts of 50mph roadworks on m5>m6. Tried the lane assist out, it did correct me once or twice as I must have drifted a little close to a white line. A good feature, I didn't think I'd like it but I was impressed. The dealer/factory had put bloody 40PSI in to all 4 tyres so I'm glad I brought them down to a reasonable amount before the run.
  23. One of your intake hoses may have a split or the clamp holding the hose to a hard pipe may have broken? A friends 2004 Fabia VRS had one clamp/connector fail where the intercooler exits towards the intake. Basically it looks to me like your loosing boost pressure out of your intake loop, either from the air filter housing back to turbo, turbo to intercooler, intercooler to intake. The car isn't happy as it is not getting the intake pressure it is expecting
  24. Got mine last month, 450 miles on her currently. Corrida Red Estate, no options other than a spare wheel Quick pic after putting some 'mirror' glaze and wax on it.
