  1. Yes I panned out of Google Maps and looked. I was born in the North West and I've never been anywhere near Co Durham and unlikely to go there in the future as I now live in the South West.
  2. Stupid me. Ah yes I see now that it's right up North near the village of "Weak Bridge"
  3. Tell me where that is so I can make sure I never go there. I thought multi storey car parks were bad enough for scraping alloys.
  4. Sorry a900ss I have no idea about software on newer models. My car was built in Dec 16 so they could have changed it.
  5. A couple of days ago I the early afternoon I was heading down A46 past the Bath turn-off, coasting down the hill in Eco mode. Doing a little over 50 (cough cough) I I hit a very freaky localised heavy hail/snow shower which made the road ahead very slushy and icy. I Started to skid and nearly went into the central barrier. Despite having a 4×4 DSG I had no traction. I guess this was because no drive was going through the wheels due to Eco being on. ABS saved me. Lesson learnt.
  6. I went to buy some adblue from a lorry refuelling pump at a petrol station but was told the delivery rate was too fast for a car to take as it was specifically for lorries with large volume adblue tanks The forecourt staff informed me that when the normal vehicle fuel pumps are replaced the new ones will have have an adblue filler for cars. I had to buy a 10ltr container.
  7. Facet you have made a good point I didn't think Eco mode would save a great deal of money and I did buy the biggeerdiesel engine for the sake of having a little more power so fuel economy was not foremost in my tbought when I bought the car.
  8. Saga lout. I can guess exactly how you came by that name. I have also recently qualified but I still haven't grown up. However if you want to sit back and relax Comfort mode is good. Just don't plan going round corners too fast.
  9. Cheers Gerry, I will try making sure aircon, seats, blowers etc are switched off and see what kind of reading I get on my Infotainment/LCD screen traveling along a given stretch of road (with and without Eco mode). It probably works well on the 1.4 TSI and I gather your engine is surprisingly fuel efficient and nifty enough when in a Skoda Octy. Interested to see what it does in a 2ltr diesel Superb.
  10. Yes rtj your post about the DSG box going into Neutral coasting along in idle when in Eco Mode figures. Still not sure how much fuel this is Eco mode engine coasting business is going to save? A small amount I guess, particularly if you already drive the car conservatively, read the road ahead and avoid unnecessary sudden acceleration or braking etc...
  11. If I choose Eco on my car and leave it there when I turn off the engine it will still register Eco mode when I next come to use the car, even after more than a day or two. Anyhow can anyone describe exactly how this 'coast function ' works? Does it simply lessen the effect of normal engine braking when you take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
  12. Thanks Auswede but now I have learnt how to use it it works just fine. I was the only person who didn't know how as the dealer selling me the vehicle didn't told me it didn't have a virtual pedal function. It was only when looking the owners manual that I stated to think it was standard on my model/trim level.
  13. The SEL Exec is indeed a very fine car and if I was looking for a Company car with Bik to consider I would also choose the SEL L Exec over the L&K. As for choice of engine I know the 2 litre TSI is a rapid car but I still like diesels and my DSG 190 4x4 gets me about quickly enough.
  14. I am sure you will enjoy your L&K very much. Although the SEL Exec offers a level of interior comfort and driver accessories on a par with many high end limos the L&K offers even more goodies, everywhere you look inside you will be reminded that your driving the best of Skoda's Flagship car.
  15. As Billy Jim described move foot in and out once (not side to side) and step back. Rear lights flash and It takes a second or so to start opening.
  16. Billy Jim many thanks for the very thorough advice. Incidentally I have just came back from visiting a local Skoda dealer who also got it to work as you have stated. I obviously wasn't doing it right and thought it was down to not being suffiently well endowed in the foot department.
  17. Yes but no amount of foot waggling seems to make any difference. I just though this was standard on L&K, even on a car built in Dec 2016. I wonder if this has anything to do with where it was built although clearly it was built for UK market being a Right Hand Drive.
  18. I have a 2017 plate Superb Estate L&K but this does not appear to have a working virtual pedal for opening the tail gate although I thought this was standard on all L&K models for this year. Anyone else experienced similar?
  19. Thanks to both RTJ and Jeff for your helpful replys. :0)
  20. Its a DSG but I can't find any reference to Traffic Jam Assist anywhere in the car i.e large screen display, instrument console, Maxi Dot etc so just wondered how you could tell? Cheers
  21. I have a late 2016 l&K with lane assist. If this Traffic Jam Assist is something else is this really a simple software update?
  22. Cheers. I didn't know the picture would be quite so large, also please excuse the text as I can't remember typing the word 'Ostrich'. My macrosift spillchucker must be acting up.
  23. Recently purchased a used 17 plate Superb Estate. If am not new to Skoda as I'm already have a 58 plate Fabia which I'm had from new. I can't download pictures of my ,ostrich recent acquisition until I'm find a way to reduce file size of the pictures.
