  1. Have a read through this thread in the Karoq section: INSTALLATION OF THE WELCOME AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS (RED) OF THE FRONT DOORS. Really easy mod to do
  2. If you have a phone that is capable of being charged on a pad, simply lay the phone down on the pad (back side down to the pad), and with the engine running you should get a message on the infotainment screen stating that the phone is charging
  3. No, I meant the built-in charge pad under the sliding cover in the centre console.
  4. Not particularly, mine has the original charging phone box and signal amp. At the moment I still have an iPhone 7, so it doesn’t charge on the charge pad, although my wife’s 8+ still fits on the pad and charges even with the CarPlay device fitted. Boot up time takes around 40 seconds or so.
  5. I’ve been using a Carplay2Air for a couple of months now and it’s been a great success. I bought a 90 degree adapter, and it fits brilliantly under the sliding cover in the narrow channel within the phone box. It’s held in place with a strip of double sided tape so that the lid slides shut properly 👍
  6. Richmix, I use Apple Carplay and I always have Google Maps running. The only time the maps zoom in (and then zoom out) is when I come up to and pass an intersection. Even passing under a bridge with a road above will cause the maps to zoom in then revert back to normal view. Otherwise, no problems at all. Incidentally, I run Apple Carplay wirelessly using a carplay2air device. Regarding the 'new' MySKODA app, what a p*** poor effort from Skoda wherever it comes from - why disable a working feature until the new one is up and running correctly! Yet again, Simply NOT Clever...
  7. Ray, if it helps, get them to ring DM Keith Skoda in Hull to ask for any information regarding leaks and/or missing sealant. That's where I took mine to have the problem rectified - which included replacing all the carpets and underfelt (all done under warranty), so they are fully aware of the situation. The worrying thing is that water ingress for any reason is not covered under a warranty extension (my Karoq is out of warranty next month and I have just had the offer of extending it.
  8. All this doesn't bode well for the future ownership of my Karoq. I didn't realise there were so many similar threads to this problem - I posted my experiences of this in July in the Campaign 60E3 thread. What worries me is wether Skoda UK will honour the repairs done under warranty when my particular Karoq comes out of warranty next Feb. When you say your repair was done by a specialist body shop, was there any reason your dealership didn't attempt the investigation and repair?
  9. I bought mine from superskoda two years ago, still looking as new, no signs of becoming unstuck etc. There is a dedicated template device for lining them up, but in reality it's obvious where there should be fitted, so I never bothered with buying it. The most important thing to remember (I believe) is to thoroughly degrease the sills to remove any dirt, polish or wax before fitting them. Line them up first, and mark where one end will be using masking tape, then go for it. It's a one shot fitting, as once they're on, they're on. Just looking at my invoice, that seems a very good price as I paid 74 euros inclusive back then.
  10. Curiously, I've just watched a Youtube review of the new 2021 Jaguar F Pace facelift, and it states that it now has wireless phone charging and a signal booster. Seems like they can be utilised in the UK after all. I wonder how they differ from the Skoda version or licensing?
  11. Have a look at the thread titled Campaign 60E3 from 26 June. I had exactly the same problem - carpets and sound proofing/underfelt completely soaked. The car went in for the 60E3 with me assuming the sunroof would be the problem, but as it turned out, there was a gap somewhere in the sealant between the bulkhead and wing area. Upshot of all this was new carpets all round, all done under warranty. So far so good, but it is strange that the problem took 2 1/2 years to manifest itself.
  12. Not sure about Erwin, but do you have the MySkoda app on a phone or iPad? It shows all the digital service info on mine, even though I use a non-franchise workshop/garage. I've just checked my service info and it also shows when it was actually in to my Skoda dealership for the possible sunroof leak recall last July, although it's titled 'Workshop remark'.
  13. This probably isn’t related but I’ve just had all of the carpets & underlay/soundproofing replaced under warranty due to a leak at near the front offside wing. Apparently there was a gap in the sealant at a joint between the inner wing and bulkhead? Impossible for me to know one way or the other if this was true but the dealer must be fairly confident that it has now been sorted. The car originally went in to have the two campaigns rectified (sunroof drains & AdBlue metering). If sealant can be missed at the front it is just as possible that it could be missed at the rear.
  14. Yeah I've had a few items from them - LED lamps, heating duct covers which go under the rear of the front seats, and the red warning lamps for the front doors. On each occasion they have been really good, well packaged and relatively quick delivery. I'd certainly use them again if the need arises. 👍
  15. Yet another update. I've just picked up the car this morning after it went in last Thursday for both recall jobs. They discovered that the sunroof drains were in fact working fine, but the problem was with a gap in the sealant between the bulkhead and some other panel relating to the wing. I was a bit dubious about this, but the upshot of it all was that they have replaced the missing section of sealant and replaced all of the carpet and underlay/soundproofing under warranty. Quite a big job as this entails taking all of the seats out and bits of trim. They seem to have done a good job so I guess only time will tell as to wether it will let water in again. Strange that it's taken 2 1/2 years to get to the point were it started to leak but the dealers must be fairly satisfied that it's been a success.
  16. Another update: So, I've just had a look/see and I've managed to get a length of silicone rubber tubing down through and inside the drain tubes. I can get it as far as the bottom of the windscreen area, but I think there may be some sort of elbow after that to take any water downwards and out through the wheel arch area. I then used a syringe with warm soapy water and fired that down the tube but nothing came out through the bottom. I then tried blowing down the tube as hard as I could but again nothing shifted. After I regained consciousness I picked myself up off the drive and tried the other side, but that is the same, so we'll see if the dealership guys have any better luck next week. A good opportunity to clean the inside area of the sunroof opening though. To be fair, I agree with pat997 and CJJE about the sunroofs, I've had them on my previous Kuga, Passat and even going back to my XR3i days without any issues - so long as everything drains well they are good. I just didn't bargain for having to wear wellies inside the car... And the mist is starting to clear... With the help of Arkaig's EXCELLENT workshop manuals and parts finder, I found this diagram showing the routing and parts appertaining to the sunroof drainage https://ifinterface.com/prog/car/cp2/inprog.php. It does indeed show the water drain valves, and also the fact that Skoda revised these after 26/11/2019. It looks like the front valves only go as far as the scuttle panel below the windscreen, whereas the rear valves exit closer to the rear wheel arch rather than the tailgate area.
  17. I think that the drain 'valve' is no more than a flattened end to the pipe - at that's what it look like on the various VAG Youtube vids and also how it was on my Passat years ago. I would reckon that they will simply snip the ends off leaving an open pipe. Looking at the front sunroof drain holes they are quite difficult to access to clear out with a nylon rod or similar. The rear ones would be impossible to get to without removing the glass and I cannot see them doing that. Opening sunroofs are a pain in the derrière - much better to have a fixed pano roof with a sun blind aka LR Evoque.
  18. Quick up date on this - I booked my car in yesterday for next Thursday (9th) for both issues. Sods law being what it is, after last nights/this mornings torrential rain, when I opened the car drivers side door I was met with a small lake in the rubber floor mat. Ah well, I thought, at least it hasn't gone over the edge of the mat. After soaking up and drying the mat I lifted it out and the carpet below was absolutely sodden with standing water. I must have vacuumed about a litre of water from the carpet and underlay stuff. The car is usually on a slight incline with the front end lower so we'll see how it goes pointing the other way around. I'm fairly sure the door seals are ok, at least they look ok, so I presume the sunroof drains are the problem.
  19. Reading all the responses to your original question, you've got one hell of a problem pal. People who come on this forum are generally trying to be helpful. Your attitude stinks, and I wouldn't trust you with a bicycle, let alone a car! Do one!
  20. That’s what the recent recall/campaign is for (at least it is for the Karoq - the Kodiaq is probably the same). At the ends of the drains there is some sort of valve, like a teat on a baby’s bottle which can get clogged up with debris. Not sure if these are replaced or they will just snip the ends off and leave open pipes. This has always been a problem with VAG cars, mine is going in next week to have this done, together with the AdBlue metering issue.
  21. There is an ongoing campaign for diesel engines regarding Adblue dosing metering. This came up just as the Covid lockdown kicked in so my appointment booking was put back. When it first came about none of the dealerships even had the piece of kit/workshop tool to do the job so that was a non-starter. I haven't got around to rebooking yet as my dealership has only recently got back up to speed.
  22. Knowing Skoda, that probably is the configuration of the new Karoq EV - the trailer is a permanent fixture for the battery!
  23. Not sure about the Kodiaq, but there's a recall action for the Karoq regarding adBlue dosing metering. It might be worth seeing if your VIN number throws up any info. I had mine booked in just before the lockdown situation, then it obviously got put back. I'll get it sorted at some point, although my Karoq adBlue usage doesn't seem excessive.
  24. If it's one of the corner sensors, you can see it if you lay under the back of the car. At a pinch you could relocate it by pushing it back into position with a bit of wood or similar. I had to dry out one of my rear sensors/electrical connectors using a hot air gun when it was power washed square on after a 'complimentary wash' when it went in for a warranty job - never again! If it's one of the middle sensors I don't think you can get to them from below from what I can remember.
  25. The beauty of having the buttons - if that’s the right phrase, is that if you should come across an incident, by pressing one button you can call for assistance, even if it doesn’t involve you and you haven’t a clue where you are - as silver1011 says above. I’m glad I got my car when I did with the tech it has, before much longer even glass and seats will become ‘extras’.
