Yeah I was just about to explain why my fuel economy has continued to improve to the overall average after 9,000 miles of 39.90mpg for those that are considering taking the next step. You may see from the graph that when standard at 2,400rpm there is about 120bhp available and about 360nm of torque. Compare that same 2,400rpm after the map and the figures rise to 160bhp and 480nm. This means you really don't have to mash the throttle at low revs when driving normally keeping up with traffic. Even at 3,000rpm there is a marked increase in power up from 150bhp to 215bhp.

Priced a Mk8 Golf GTi last night on the VW website and the 245PS hatch with DSG was just under £35,000 then with options to match my Superb Sportline Plus minus the 4WD of course it went upto £39,700 OTR.

The induction kit gives a nice sporty induction roar and with hindsight I should have kept mine at stage 1 which I believe is the sweet spot for any Vrs petrol or diesel and the best bang for pound with 302bhp and 467nm on my Vrs245.

Our Karoq has really not been driven much recently so when I filled it up this morning not too surprised since the last tank 25 days ago it had covered just 261 miles (now done 27,317) using 29.28 litres at a cost of £31.30. That is the second worst average this year as most of the journeys have been completed by the wife over short distances. Works out at 40.53mpg (6.44 gallons). Using it for 8 more nights so the next tank will be much better.

Yeah after 2 track days and 29,000 miles when I sold it last December the clutch was fine no slip at all despite having to deal with 517nm (380lb/ft) at 2,600rpm. Wheelspin in the wet in 3rd at 77mph wasn't much fun hence my switch to 4WD and no wheelspin in 9 months now so very happy.

Actually 5.7 litres on that engine. Had mine serviced twice before trading in for my present car.
