Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
To answer 2 questions no it's been stuck in the UK for the whole of 2020 and I HAVE ACCESS to private roads should I wish to blow off some exhaust steam and as @old newbie2 points out the Michelin Pilot Sports are indeed much better than the factory Bridgestone tyres which are now fitted to the wife's Karoq with it's tyre shredding 148bhp so should cope. As for Tim's hope that I die I seem to remember he was going to get a hybrid 400bhp conversion on his Octavia unless he was lying or didn't have the funds to complete his fantasy.

PS5
Must be me then thought games were for children and cars were for adults.

PS5
I've never owned a games console or any games that work with them. Not sure if I missed out on something but it would explain why I have so much money in my bank account.

Snap they tried that little trick with me but like you I noticed and asked them to do it properly.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
@lowey how much did they charge as I see you are fairly local to me and a job I would like doing sooner rather than later?

ocatavia vrs diesel re-map 0-60 times verses stock etc
Perhaps getting your figures right first. My custom map with before and after rolling road printout was £450 in February 2020 with a company that build racing cars in the BTCC so not backstreet amateurs. When did a tuning box ever come with free rolling road printouts so you have no idea what your stock vehicle is producing power and torque wise and my economy has always improved after a custom remap compared to a stock vehicle. Current car despite going from 283 to 359bhp and 369 to 514nm the best it managed standard was 45.9mpg and now 49.3mpg.

Ideas what to do, stick or switch
Barbour do a nice range of green outdoor clothing and the perfect vehicle to keep the shotgun secure is surely an ex-Police ARV.

All new Skoda's leave the factory with 2 year or 18,500 mile (30,000km) service intervals whichever arrives sooner.

Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
Just over 300 miles on the current tank and half a tank left. Before we leave for the 279 mile journey to Cornwall on Saturday morning will top at Tesco's after 402 miles and update when we return next Tuesday. Current mileage 13,170 miles.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Your standard engine was very similar to my figures of 283bhp and 369nm.

Citigo Electric
The Fabia Mk4 is planned for 2021 release and the 1.5TSi petrol engine will be available like it is in the Scala and Kamiq giving it warm hatchback performance with it's 148bhp and 250nm.

Tony a serious question is the fuel economy (not your priority granted) better after the remap compared to the tuning box?

Plug-in hybrids are a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'
The Octavia plug-in hybrid with it's 1.4 litre petrol engine and electric motor and battery pack weighs 1,707kg which is a lot for 242bhp to move. Compare that to 1,370kg for the 242bhp VRS245 and it's going to feel slow whatever Skoda claim and unless you charge it every day might struggle to average 50mpg. It needs to have 15mm higher suspension height to cope with all that extra weight so can't handle like the VRS245 either if that matters to buyers. Price will probably be the nail in the coffin for it unless company purchases take off.

Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
Thanks sorry for the delay been placed on the subs bench for the last 7 days. Looking forward to the break and just about to book 2 weeks holiday in Turkey in the Antalya coastal region for October/November so something else to look forward to to end what has been a frustrating year for many I would imagine.

Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
Talking economy it was time for some Tesco Momentum last night after 565 miles (35 miles left) put £74.72 in which was 64.47 litres (14.18 gallons) for a tank average of 39.84mpg. Over total distance driven now of 7,871 miles using 905.58 litres at a total cost of £1,132.72 (199.20 gallons) for an overall average of 39.51mpg. Will do approximately 400 miles in the next 10 days all in the Superb as I have 8 day shifts until our week on holiday in Cornwall and Somerset.

2020 F1 Discussion
Remember being at Silverstone in 1994 and before Schuey and Hill collided on track later the lunchtime entertainment was a Renault Espace MPV with a Renault V10 F1 engine in the back screaming away with massively fast gearchanges going down the pit straight. The sight and noise I will never forget and it still makes me giggle now how absurd it was and much faster than the earlier V8 Cosworth Ford Supervan.

Nearest MK3 equivalent to Mk2 2.0 TDi 170 Elegance?
You are probably correct as usual because having owned and mapped a 2013 Mk3 Octavia with the 150PS diesel engine (147bhp on the rollers at AmD) it went to 186bhp and torque went from 246lb/ft to a mammoth 317lb/ft it was just as smooth after the map and economy only dropped from a best of 71mpg standard to 70mpg afterwards.

2020 F1 Discussion
Who would have thought it possible I've been explaining how to get 600 miles per tank from a 350+bhp car and make tyres last longer and the only ones listening are in F1.

Nearest MK3 equivalent to Mk2 2.0 TDi 170 Elegance?
I think the only difference will be in the ECU tuning where the 150PS will produce maximum power at 3,500rpm and the 190PS will produce maximum power at 4,000-4,200rpm. So low down they will feel very similar.

Nick I'm waiting for the advice from the Cheerleaders Association who are doing a sale at the moment on bobble hats if you're interested.
