Glad you like the RS I do like the looks but if I needed a 7 seater (which I don't) I would probably be happy with the 190PS petrol In Sportline spec. In the UK they will be popular when they reach fives years old and the road tax falls and the savage depreciation has kicked in. Guess they will lose over £30,000 in those first 5 years or £500 per month so fuel consumption will be irrelevant.

Either way a speaker up the arse sounds painful and explains the noise it makes. An extra 120bhp would make it more exciting. Mine really squats at the rear when you try hard enough.

Should be cheaper than the new Audi e-tron S Sportback with a 95kWh battery, 3 electric motors, 4WD and a single speed automatic it can cover 0-62mph (100kph) in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 130mph thanks to 496bhp (500PS) and 973Nm of torque. As an added bonus it can cover 226 miles if driven slowly for £88,700. There had to be a catch really.

Skoda claim 5.5 seconds for a 268bhp (95 octane fuelled) 7 speed DSG hatch. The estate being slightly heavier should manage 5.6 seconds.

Simple answer is hold down the left knob power button and it will switch off before you open the door.

Looks like we may return to Cape Verde 6 hours flight south to a country that gained independence from Portugal in 1975 and it is poor place having visited a school on our last trip there in 2015 and you pay 20 Euro's each Tourist tax on arrival to help provide the children under 11 with free school meals so it is good to give something back when on holiday. Two weeks all inclusive for 2 of us is £2,600 currently about the same we paid 5 years ago so decent value for money. RUI Hotels dominate Boa Vista and they are generally a very high quality.

The 2016 petrol was a 1.4TSi manual 148bhp ACT so with cylinder deactivation on the mainly motorway commute gave upto 64mpg out of the big bus. Second I am a great driver like most F1 drivers and can squeeze huge mileages from any engine. Best over 27 miles in my 268kw Superb is 49.3mpg which you probably never managed in your lighter, less powerful, slower Golf R.

The last time I owned a car with more than 2.0 litres was 1997 when I bought my first house having to sell my 1994 BMW 325i Coupe.

I actually thought when you went over 2.0 litres in Italy you got hammered on tax. Here it is either price new (over £40,000) or high emissions. I high polluter like a Ferrari 812 Superfast would be £2,000 for the first years tax (VED).

You're right I have no kids and no excuse not to drive something noisy other than I don't want to wake my neighbours when I fire up my car at 05:00 to go to work. Perhaps if I was 25 I would be less considerate.

Bought an Octavia Vrs diesel in 2015 with a 500 mile range then traded it in 2016 for a petrol Superb with an 800 mile range. Wanted more performance so in 2017 bought an Octavia Vrs245 which had a range of 440 miles and now have a Superb that is even faster and it has a range of 625 miles. So the choice is out there either performance or range or both.

Looks like our delayed holiday from April is not going to happen in October and they have promised to return my £3,300 by next week. Love to loan you some but looks like it will be Tenerife now for 2 weeks instead as no quarantine required.

Back on topic Audi have just announced the diesel engines in the SQ7 and SQ8 will be replaced by a twin-turbo V8 petrol 4.0 litre which drops the 0-60 time from 4.8 seconds in the diesel models to just 4.1 seconds and presumably sounds better as well. The economy of the new 500bhp engine takes a hit however dropping from 36mpg to 23mpg. Larger brakes and wider tyres are fitted to the new petrol models to cope with the greater performance. They are fitted with an 8 speed auto gearbox, ACT and 4WD as standard to cope with the 770NM of torque.

During the Pandemic when people were bulk buying toilet rolls like they were gold or copper bars you may have needed to use cheaper kitchen towel rather than go without. Fortunately we were well stocked when the idiots hit the shops and cleared the shelves.

The tyre dressing the dealer valeters use is either sprayed on which can be messy causing overspill on the alloy wheels or they use a brush dipped in a tin/container and literally brushed on like a painter. It is the latter type which tends to be oily in nature.

Well it's soft enough to wipe my arse in an emergency without leaving micro-scratches and one sheet is plenty without advertising the product.
