  1. You could argue the sunroof was a seasonal option as well, and its a huge cost!
  2. As do many Kodiaqs! There are 3 different layouts for the hooks/rings the cargo space of the Kodiaq, depending on 5/7 seats and whether you have a spare wheel. The 7 seater is probably the worst. The diagrams are on page 108 of the UK manual if you want to compare.
  3. For prospective buyers that are also golfers, both the Allspace and the Kodiaq will take a full set of golf clubs widthwise in the boot (without removing any clubs from the bag), leaving room for trolley etc (in 5 seat mode). The Tiguan and Karoq are NOT wide enough to pass the same test. Obviously you can play with seat positions and juggle clubs to squeeze lots of equipment into any of these cars, but if you are looking for a car that you can easily throw your clubs in the back of, both Allspace and Kodiaq pass the test. FYI an Octavia also passes the test.
  4. The point is that the additional tax kicks in if the list price is over 40K: From https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables Vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000 You have to pay an extra £310 a year if you have a car or motorhome with a ‘list price’ (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000.
  5. Not quite! I test drove an Allspace - its almost the same size as a Kodiaq. Bigger than a Karoq.
  6. There a photo of my Kodiaq with black/beige combination in the owners register
  7. I find the search on the sat nav very poor, especially for postcodes. Its quicker to just plug the phone in and use Android Auto/Google Maps. I find the Skoda sat nav usually needs the space in the postcode, but I couldn't vouch for its consistency! The trip planner in the Skoda Connect app is the same, though the phone keyboard is marginally more usable than the screen in the car. Basically, if it doesn't find the postcode in a second or 2 then I stop the search and try an alternate format.
  8. If you are prepared to compromise, have you considered changing the model? If you buy an Edition instead of a Sportline you can have all your options and stay under 40k
  9. You have to fit the flux capacitor first, then you can go back to the future to fit the hover conversion
  10. My spec is similar to yours, except it's an edition (and swap the tow bar for a sunroof), the RRP was under 39k. Be aware that there are 2 types of heated steering wheels: with and without paddles. Make sure you spec the one you want.
  11. Yep. My A/C is being installed this week
  12. If you want a complete setup it would have to remember & adjust the steering wheel position as well.
  13. In case anyone was wondering what the beige leather looks like with the black paint..... 2.0 TSI Edition, 7 seat, Black with Beige Leather ACC, Pan. roof, LED Light pack ,Canton, Heated rear seats, Heated w/s + washer jets , spare wheel, Front and rear parking sensors, heated steering wheel, Rear view camera
  14. Feedback for any audio unit UI designers that happen to be reading: If the user selects the radio from the menu, then they will certainly be expecting to hear the radio, so automatically unmute the unit if it is in a muted state.
  15. Perhaps, but its not very intuitive is it? If I get in the car today and "switch on" the radio, I don't expect to get silence just because I paused a track sometime yesterday!
  16. Mystery solved. What I did not say in my earlier post is that it was not happening every single time I switched media or started the car, just often enough to be annoying. I had already tried the "maximum switch on volume" setting and it hadn't helped. I did some experimenting just now and have found out the exact scenario that causes the "problem". What I now realise is that if you pause a track you are playing from the sd card it also sets the volume to mute. So if you then switch to the radio it is still muted. It appears I am in the habit of pausing playback before switching off the ignition, and sometimes before turning over to the radio. I think this is a hangover from an older car which tended to trash the contents of sd cards if they were still playing when you switched off the ignition. So now the question becomes - can you stop the pause function also setting the volume to mute?
  17. When I switch media sources on the Columbus the new source tends to start at volume 0 (i.e. muted). Also happens when starting the car. Does anyone know if this can be changed in the settings?
  18. Not if the car was delivered since April! They are disabling this feature on every car they sell. The wireless charging feature is left intact but the signal boost is disabled. I'm not sure if they also disable it on existing cars which go in for a service.
  19. As well as the indicators suppressing it, you can also switch Lane Assist off completely. Its in the Vehicle options I think, or press the "assistance systems menu" button on the steering wheel (not sure if all models have this button?)
  20. But you DO have the CD/DVD drive which (I now realise) only comes with Columbus. So what does your head unit (in the dashboard) look like? Update: I see you have added the photo of the head unit. Looks like you have the Amundsen head unit (And external module?). Weird.
  21. Do you definitely have the Columbus head unit (large touch screen, no physical knobs)? See here: Kodiaq connectivity Update: Just looked in the manual and only the columbus comes with the glovebox unit, so as jasoncmiles said, something must have changed.
  22. In "handheld"mode its the 2 little LEDs on the end that light up, not the square panel it uses in "docked" mode. I did not get a first aid kit in mine (i think you get one in mainland Europe ,but not in UK?)
  23. My Edition was purchased from stock in May 2018 (not sure when it was built). It has the sim card slot in the glovebox.
  24. I went for a heated windscreen and steering wheel, but since I've only had the car for 2 months I can't say yet if they are worth it. I find the rear camera useful, but not everyone thinks so. Wish I had the full area view, but it's very expensive. If someone else drives your car regularly then the electric seats with memory function are great (standard on edition). If you are going for driver assistance package you should think about Edition spec. Don't forget the spare wheel.
