  1. I have just rung up where I usually go for my exhaust and tyres and Keith said the cheapest would be about £220 - £240, so he has suggested welding a new flexi on, so I am dropping it off Monday morning with them to see what they can do.
  2. I have just got my OBDH code reader as well.
  3. I have just had my exhaust system checked again and apparently it is the flexi pipe to the cat that has is blowing, apparently you have to replace the cat with the flexi as it is all one piece. First quoted me over £300 then got it down to £260.
  4. I've never been to that one. Hainford Hall is a big scrapyard just outside Norwich.
  5. That wasn't Hainford Hall scrapyard was it ?
  6. Yeah didn't they just especially if you done a lot of short journeys, as I was told was the reason why mine used to rot through.
  7. That's what I was wondering if the light coming on was anything to do with that. I was quoted £160 for the manifold to be done.
  8. I have to admit as far as I can remember I don't think I have had any part of the exhaust replaced since I had the car which will be 8 or 9 years on the 29th of this month.
  9. I had the exhaust checked December last year as I'd had advisories the previous 2 years on the silencer for the MOT. Silencer is fine just the outer casing rusty but he told me the manifold would probably need doing in 4 -6 months time as it was starting to get a hole in it, which I think it has now by the sounds of the car.
  10. Thanks for the link I will order one. I have looked before but not been sure which ones would work.
  11. No I haven't had a chance to get to a garage yet to see what it's coming up as.
  12. My engine management light has come on but my car seems to be running fine, but I do need to get a new manifold.
  13. I only realised it had discs on the rear when I had to have new discs and pads done for mot about two years ago, I hadn't really noticed as I just assumed it was drum on the rear brakes. Not very observant of me
  14. I guess they changed the rear brakes on the Fabia's at some stage, because my Fabia has discs brakes on the rear.
  15. i have 2 big Silica bags in mine one up front and one on the parcel shelf i change them every week with a dry pair.
  16. Yes welcome to my windows work sometimes
  17. Wow been a while since I've been on here, and about to go into tier 4 on boxing day in Norfolk. well my car is running fine no more oil in the coolant which is great!
  18. I have just gone to take the spark plugs out to put new ones in and is it normal for the chamber each plug is in to be filled with oil and it looks like I have oil mixed in with coolant. The car starts fine from cold and runs fine but on a couple of occasions it has took a bit to start after I have done a short journey and the car is already warm. any advise and help would be appreciated
