  1. and for comparison, here is the same footpack on my 2012 combi (and for the record, it fits exactly the same way as it does on the 2016)
  2. hey they are the bars and footpack from my 2012 combi Thule Rapid System 118cm WingBars (2) no. 961 and a 757 foot pack Ill post a few more pics in the morning
  3. here is a set of wingbars secured with foot pack 757 from my old superb mark II combi looks ok. not a great fit on the inner side of the bar, but quite snug on the outside. I does seem to lock into place well enough, so result. and looks pretty much identical to this video
  4. seemingly the old 755 footpack works too, just two inches higher up than the 775 pack anyone tried it yet (I have a set of thule aerobars & 755 pack out in the shed but am too lazy to go try them
  5. My old v10 s6 was very much in that mould (previous c5 rs6 was a tad more obvious) so quite liking the looks of this I have to say. Interior is a nice uplift from my 2012 combi, so its cool that its kinda understated on the outside too.
  6. I picked up my 280 4x4 combi last saturday, and am loving it! one quick question. mine came with just superb and 4x4 underneath it on the right hand side of the trunk lid, and skoda on the other side. is that the stock look? if so, its pretty excellent!!! t.
  7. in my case, it was on the car good point! normally, as a note, your phone sets its time from the local base station, rather than gps, but it can of course use that too.
  8. Got my 280 4x4 combi on saturday, and everything is working really nicely! however, when attempting to connect up my nexus 6 android phone to android auto, i got the following error - "Communication error 7 - Your car's software did not pass Android Auto security checks. For Details and support, contact the manufacturer" which briefly appeared and then disappeared every time I tried to connect it drove me nuts for a while, but its now fixed. short version is make sure your time and date is set from your GPS, or at least as close to correct as you can manage, and this does fix this!
  9. mine was built last week and is now at emden as well. so whats average transit time then? (note I'm in ireland rather than the UK)
  10. Hmm I did it on my mkII combi. here's the link - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/374414-reversing-cameras-high-version-this-time/ the camera that I've seen in the mkIII is the highline one too. no idea if it takes the lowline camera like the RNS510. also, highly likely that the handle in the bootlid is the newer style one, so a straight swap with not cutting. t.
  11. Hi so on monday, I noticed that I was getting some front wheelspin when accelerating on a damp road in gears 1/2/3. its unusual behaviour in a 4x4 haldex car, with no error being displayed on the dash apart from flashing traction control when the front wheels lost traction, so i took at look with vcds. I got the following error code in the AWD controller (22) - “00488 - Haldex clutch pump (V181) - 011 Open Circuit Intermittent” I’d changed the haldex clutch oil before so was fairly familiar with the layout of the unit, and from some googling, this seems to be solved by either a: cleaning the small filter on the front of the haldex clutch pump (cost - 1L of haldex clutch oil) , or b: replacement of the pump entirely (1L of clutch oil, + 350 euro for a new pump) so I went with option a: first which at this point appears to have worked. first up, you need to elevate the car. jackstands or a ramp etc. To remove the pump, you have to drain the haldex fluid from the haldex coupling (fluid part number g055175a2), remove the pump, do whatever you do with the pump, then refill until the fluid spills back out the fill hole (keeping the car level at all times). a quick search of the interwebs gave me the following illustrations which are quite useful to drain the fluid, open the fill hole B, then open the drain hole A to drain the fluid out using a suitable drain pan. its important to do it in this order, so you are sure you can actually fill it back up let the fluid drain out, then go around the other side of the haldex clutch unit. the pump is secured by two 4mm hex head bolts (1&2). you need to push the pump back off the unit (a screwdriver and a bit of force helped) the pump has a fine filter mesh secured by two t10 torx screws, which are easy to remove, and you can then take the screen directly from the pump and clean it. there was a lot of “sludge” on mine which was blocking flow of oil, and it stopped the pump actuating the clutch unit. in the pic below, I removed the sludge in the center of the filter for some contrast. i cleaned it out, and then reassembled the pump onto the haldex housing. I then replaced the drain plug, and proceeded to refill the diff using a small hand pump - see link below - until the fluid started to spill out the fill hole. i then cleared the codes on the controller, and test drove the car. the 4x4 system was back working. Result! so if you do get this problem, make sure they take a look at the filter first! t. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-FHP-1L-23242-Multi-Purpose/dp/B008YFX1S6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1452730058&sr=8-3&keywords=oil+transfer+pump
  12. so I buy from a guy over on rs246 who is rather excellent. used him for many many cars over the last while. he gave me an excellent set of h8's that have lasted well in my mk2, and his LEDs are are canbus ok too. as an added extra happiness, he also bench tests every light before he ships them, so its quite pain free. pm me if you want details, as i dont particularly want to start advertising a non-sponsor in a public post
  13. many thanks!!! so pretty much the same as the mk2 then. excellent. orders underway
  14. hey so my current mk2 combi is fully LED'd out which I like a lot. my mk3 is being built next week and I want to order up a few pieces beforehand (some from superskoda, but also from the guy who gave me my LED kits for my last few cars, and colour matched spots for my last combi) my new combi is an irish SE model (seems to be similar to the UK SE L) and allegedly has LEDs inside. are there LEDs in the puddle lights in the mirrors? and under the doors? and whats the deal with the combi boot lighting? and lastly, are the spots on the front colour matched with the Xenons? if anyone has a car with the stock LEDs I would be really grateful for any answers cheers t.
  15. hmmm I just ordered up a combi, and there was no webasto option here (ireland) unfortunately. My wife had that in a mark II touran and it was very very nice on a cold morning. I did order DAB, but dont care about TV, do didnt order up the tv tuner, but it was available. the 19's on the dynamic suspension are actually ok - I was surprised how much softer the ride was than my current 4x4 combi on 18s. t
  16. yep - they are. so basically they would clean off the wheel, powder coat or spray it the background colour, then use a diamond cutting rig to clean off the face. It would give you your two tone finish. wheel wizards would be my first stop for this.
  17. actually they look diamond cut. wheel wizards out in finglas is worth a call too - they can handle a diamond cut finish pretty well!
  18. hey so I have a combi en route with the interior LED kit in it. does this cover the door puddle lights and the under mirror lights? also the rear trunk lid lights and the number plate lights? and lastly the under seat lights? I replaced all the bulbs in by old 2012 combi with LEDs, so just wondering how much I have to do again also are the fogs in the dynamic light pack the same colour as the Xenons or will I have to replace the h8s (Irrc) on the front too? t.
  19. I did - I had a c5 avant and a c6 avant RS6, and a c6 s6 saloon most recently alongside my superb combi. steeringwise, the c6 is pretty dead, the c5 is heavy but much more involving re: the l&k point above, i did get some movement on price, as I basically specced everything available bar the door bin things and i fought the fight with them that the L&K bundle was much cheaper than buying all the bits separately and adding to a style. cant wait until feb now
  20. re: speed - thanks folks. I think it will be rather quick, so here's hoping.
  21. yup - officially placed the order this am, and end feb delivery date (hopefully). there is another (to quote star wars) but i believe its a saloon. here's hoping there are a few more.... I am down around kilkenny a bit so maybe a mini briskoda meet at some point t.
  22. well the time has come to upgrade, and I've decided to trade in my 2012 170 4x4 combi for a 2016 280 4x4 dsg combi in quartz grey, with black interior. you cant get an L&K here with the 280 bhp engine (they reckon they will none of them so dont list them and wouldnt, even with some poking) I went a tad nuts on the options list, but am looking at end of feb hopefully for delivery. I havent been able to test drive one (there isnt one in the country as far as skoda know) but I have driven a cupra R 280 in anger, and several golf Rs, so am impressed enough by the engine, and I've always loved the DSG gearboxes, so this looks like a good mix. how are folks finding them in terms of rapidness? are they really a sub 6 second car to 60? I'm asking as I just moved on my v10 s6 and my old c5 rs6, and if this car is as nippy as claimed, then I may be sorted with just one car of mine on the driveway t
  23. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/374414-reversing-cameras-high-version-this-time/
  24. yup - they are an M10 spline. amazon have the, as do halfords well worth having as they do pop up all over the place with VAG cars
