Got you all looking lol misleading title. So took a 250 mile round trip to cardiff on sunday in the furby to buy a full set of seats from a guy. To say it turned out to be the bargain of a lifetime is an understatement, I was a bit worried as seemed to good to be true but as you will see in pics below mine were minging hence why when i brought the car there were seat covers already on. I think the previous owner may have been a swamp donkey or something lol. The new seats I have to say look and feel as though they have only been in a car maybe 12 months.

Issue resolved it was in fact as TMB pointed out this was holding the barrels into the lock ring, I took a long screwdriver and applied gentle pressure to the bottom of the lockring which allowed the barrels to slide out. Thanks all as always lesson learnt lol :P

so that might be my best course of action then so i can get these lock barrels out.

Do you think if I was to unscrew the adjustment screw all the way so it came out the locking ring would then drop off as i dont recall much else holding it in place.

I think that,s what they call in the trade as a pretty definitive answer to your question 😶

Can I ask where you got the seals from mine are in desperate need of changing the metal on them has oxidised and bubbled under the plastic I need to change all 4.

Loads on ebay mate both new and from breaking cars just depends if your after a colour match.

Those replacement rollers fit perfectly window all good over time the originals must have rattled out maybe.

yeah i took the door carrier off but there is a void that is not obtainable so im assuming they are lurking down there somewhere nowhere to get new ones from ???

Ok so had one other job to do the d/s rear window would not roll down so stripper the door card etc back today and found reason is the plastic roller pin things that retain through a hole in the window onto the carrier are missing. does anyone know where i can obtain these from please ???

Well I tried for a few hours today but cannot see whats holding them in stripped off window carrier and top trim etc im pretty dure its domething on the barrels holding onto the lock ring but need handle off to be able to get at it and handle won't come off unless I destroy the carrier which I'm not willing to do.

Does anyone know where I can get one of the little black grommets from the one which covers the hole where you put the t20 torn into to release the barrel.

Fair point J.R. maybe I took it bad probs as I feel a bit of a plonker atm having caused this issue. Anyway I will be taking trim and panel off today to see if its possible to remove the barrels. When I tried to remove yesterday they will move forward to a degree so they are not stuck must basically be a section of the barrel now swapped is just holding onto them.

Actually it was neither confirmed or not as to if the barrels could be swapped over or not no one actually knew but now they do so no need to thank me for this invaluable info I've obtained through testing lol 😁

Because yours is already the second pointless and childish reply to this post, having a laugh is one thing but I constantly see the same thing on posts on this site people feeling the need to belittle others and its always the same people doing it there is no need for it.

I explained my reasons why as I have before I'm not one for wait till it breaks its called preventative maintenance but as we've all found out in the past sometimes things go sideways it's how we learn and now people in the future will know not to try what I did. yes the normal way but since i crossed them over they now wont come out so something is not the same is you swap them over.

And also I wanted to redo the door handles as they are really faded but now cant get them out lol.

because I dont like the idea that they now cannot be removed if a door handle breaks or a window regulator goes or the door lock packs up i cant fix them as you need to remove the barrel first the normal way od removing the barrels will now not work thats the issue.

so what im basically asking is is it possible for me to strip from the inside to get the locks out ???

ok so tried to swap these over today. I took the barrels out offered them up looked exactly the same so tried them in and they went in and locks and central locking all works as should be but now the issue. So thought right take the barrels back out and put some silicone grease in i have and theres the issue the barrels do not come back out so somehow they are handed and now stuck in so im right up **** creak if I cant get these back out ???
