Would it be okay to swop my drivers and passenger side lock barrels over drivers feels a bit dloppy 21 years of use and passengers of course basically never used.

Dremmel did the job cleaned out the tubes and new cables dlid in handbrake feels fantastic now thanks guys.

I've got them out now heated them up problem now is new cables are now metal instead of plastic inserts and they are to tight so I will have to try and dremmel the holes tomorrow to make them a tad wider always something lol

ok slight problem doing the handbrake cables today and when trying to get them off the plastic piece which goes into the tube underneath has broken off in the tube so i cant get the old cable out and the new one in any ideas im stuck with car up on ramps ???

Oh god yeah some people have no morals and will do what they can to off load a knackered car.

Never trust anything said when buying a second hand car and doublecheck everything like asking for a cold start a run in it in case a code reader had been used just before you arrive to turn off mil light and slways get reg and check on dvla mot history first before you go to see what it's failed on or minors listed that might now be a fail.

Anyway im going to change them out just makes me laugh that yet again they want £13 for a pair of bolts its always the fixings which seem stupid prices.

yeah i know the previous owner she had it for 13 years and says she has not had them changed so it must have been first owner which means they were changed within 5 years of new.

I could only look quickly but I thought it looked like a crack in the rubber mounting as well and would be shocked if was noise from else where as ive changed everything last year as you may recall lol and yes i know I should have done these at same time im a doughnut.

Yeah I get a bit of a creak when going over speed bumps. Will do some pics when dry.
