  1. Cheers, had the superb for 5 years so been on the site almost as long. Hopefully the octavia will last as long
  2. Hi folks, just jumped ship from the big brother forum (superb mk2) as I've sold my just-about-to-hit 200k elegance and bought a 14 plate 81k auto elegance octy. Hope I enjoy it as much as the big yin, but the spec on it was hard to pass over. The garage is getting the dsg oil changed before I collect it and the cambelt is good for another 20k so fingers crossed.
  3. Well that's it sold, hoping I'm gonna like the octavia as much as I liked the superb. Here's a wee pic of the new wheels, I'm going to nip over to the octy side now and say hello:-)
  4. Hi folks, after 5 years and nearly 100,000 miles of Superb ownership, with the odo less than 1k short 200k, I've decided to move away from the beautiful big bus and get something a little newer and less travelled. Which is kind of annoying me because I only had the timing belt and pump done about 4k ago, but other factors were in play. However, I'm only moving 'next door', as I've bought a 14plate octavia elegance estate 😄, with the dsg box and 81k on it, really good spec. Looking forward to the laziness of the auto box, but I'll miss the power of the 170 horses. Just got to sell the big yin now...not looking forward to that. Anyone looking to buy?😁
  5. Did it myself bud, just did the other one too
  6. I had a knocking sound recently, very quickly turned bad, top strut mount bearing had collapsed, had to get towed home.
  7. Hi petrolcan (or is that Jerry 🤔), there's more sensors involved in the no bend dance than the level sensors. I've had one of them disabled before and it didn't affect the car at all, didn't even register as a fault actually. I believe (from previous posts on this subject) that's there's around 3 different possible culprits, just would love to find their location...
  8. Reg is OV60RYW. What's Alldata?
  9. I've had the car scanned bud, but it was fairly inconclusive. It did say something about a possible sensor or possible bad earth, so was really wanting to know if anyone could point me in the direction of the sensor position, or where the earths are
  10. Appreciate your help bud, but defo not the level sensor. Rear one got knocked out a few years back after having some suspension work done, never got the no bend lighting message up, and didn't affect the level with such severity ( if i recall, lights stayed up a tad too high?) I'm hoping it's a bad earth, but finding where the damn earth is is a nightmare.
  11. Thanks for replying, but no afraid that's not the problem. The warning came and then the lights went into a get home mode, pointing right down, not really drivable. I had just got to work, and was able to manually adjust them up to an acceptable level. But really would like them fixed
  12. Hi, recently had an error message and loss of the no bend lighting function ( the wee lightshow dance on start up). Can anyone point to (better still provide a photo of) where the earths for the sensors are, and in fact where the sensors are located? I downloaded the service manual but it only shows the engine functions, as far as I can see. Thanks in advance
  13. Excellent, cheers mate 👍
  14. Thanks for your help guys. One wee question, you quoted the manual there, does a manual exist for this car then, or is it only for dealer workshops? I could really do with one if it's available
  15. VIN is TMBKF73T3B9031439 Engine number starts cfg
  16. I was thinking it might be a combined one, can anyone confirm it?
  17. Hi, can anyone tell me the location of the oil temperature sensor please? I've recently replaced the oil cooler only to find there was nothing visibly wrong with the old one, and I'm still getting high oil temperatures showing on my display, so reckon I should maybe replace the sensor. Which I should have done before all the hassle and expense of the cooler... It's a mk2 170bhp superb. Thanks in advance 👍
  18. Wee update on the erisin replacement head. Unit is decent all-round, maps are good and it's easy to use. However, at this point in time I haven't been able to resolve a few niggles, how minor they are will depend on the individual I suppose. The front/rear fader doesn't function - autotec say this is down to the car's amplifier and not the new head, which is a bit odd because someone else I spoke to there said they didn't think my car had an amplifier fitted...any advice on this would be appreciated. I'll just say now that the team at autotec have been really helpful up to now, and patient with my lack of knowledge, so can't really fault them. Also, Bluetooth dialing from the steering wheel control is now defunct, I had to disconnect the unit under the seat to stop my phone pairing with a non-functioning system. So not so handsfree call handling any more. Finally, the unit switches off when the engine does. Good for the battery, not the dads and kids waiting for mum to finish the shopping. Again, supposedly something to do with single/double power source that's beyond my ken. So, would I buy it if I'd known all this? Possibly not, but still wouldn't trust a second hand columbus at 300 quid, so...
  19. Thanks. Mine was £240, but time will tell if I got a bargain or not 🤞
  20. Thanks bud. I've got the Erisin model from auto tec, I'm having some teething problems (no sound🥺) but the tech help guys so far have been really helpful. I'll update this post when everything is sorted. Just out of curiosity, how much did the Zenec unit cost?
  21. Did you get this sorted bud? I just installed one, from your post, can't get sound, although sometimes comes on then stops. Mines doing the opposite door thing too. Actually not doing what yours is, music appears to be playing, just no sound. James at audio tec said to disconnect battery for a while then reconnect, but doesn't seem to be working. I'll phone them again tomorrow.
  22. PbA VW8735V 7" Android 10.0 Sat Nav GPS CarPlay Android Auto WiFi Radio For VW SEAT Skoda RNS/RCD Shape Not sure how to copy a link, but if you copy that it will(*probably !) take you there👍
  23. I gave up waiting for help, so went with a previous post's recommendation from autotec direct. It's £239 + 40 if you want dab, which I haven't got, yet. Just about to contact them for fitting instructions...quite a few more wires!
