  1. Morning Sanqhar, Apologies for my explanation - pressing the wheel does change it to 'since refuel', 'long term' or 'since start'. However, basically all these selections produce identical readings. It seems that after every restart, the memory on all 3 settings of fuel consumption is wiped. I don't know if I've inadvertantly altered something within the settings of the car, but I don't where or how that has happened?I hope that makes more sense now
  2. I'm more than a little puzzled here. My Karoq now seems to reset the fuel consumption details each time the car ignition is switched off. I realise that 'consumption since start' will reset on each trip, but surely 'long term' and 'since refuel should not, based on the parameters stated in the manual? I'm purposely keeping my hands as far away from the '00/set' button as possible, in case it's me causing the problem with my banana fingers, but I'm convinced it's not that? Any suggestions ....?
  3. Morning Bigade, Going to give this installation a bash this morning. Inside the extracted EU Speedcams folder, the Personal POI folder has 3 subfolders, MIB2DE, MIB2HIGH and MIB2TSD. Do I have to choose one of these subfolders or the 'first' POI folder? Excuse my ignorance.
  4. All still good with mine. No kangarooing and no 2nd gear problem. Update carried out in October 2019 and has not missed a beat ever since
  5. Thanks for you replies gents! 8k on my car so far. Thought I may have been missing something, but your replies have convinced me that I have not missed anything 👍
  6. Thanks for your thoughts Roottoot. They claim it will improve fuel consumption? Unless someone can convince me otherwise, your thoughts are mine too👍
  7. Booked my Karoq in for first service today. When making the appointment I was offered a complete engine flush out and drain prior to oil and filter change at a cost of £39.99 - thoughts please, worth having, money spinner for dealer or both?
  8. Roq, Thanks for info. Am I correct in thinking there is only one rear foglight (drivers side) or have I got a blown bulb?
  9. No notification received by me. In fact, I was told there was no update for my car by service manager, when I took it in for a seat inspection. Immediately afterwards I was told there was by the technician who examined my car. It has been carried out and I'm pleased with the result
  10. Roottootemoot, My experience precisely! I find it difficult to understand, reading replies to this thread , the variety of different responses from dealers, as to the reasoning for the update. 'Alternator Update', 'Removing Jerkiness'...or as in my case, no real explanation at all, however much I pressed. If it was not for the technician who carried out my passenger seat recall inspection, I would not have been offered the update at all. The service manager told me there was not a software update for my car, immediately prior to my passenger seat inspection. I count myself lucky however, that I was pleased with my car pre-update and since the elimination of my second gear problem after the update, even more so!
  11. I took my March 2019 registered 1.5 SEL Manual for a recall just over a week ago. It concerned potential cracking of the front passenger seat frame and I was notified by post. On arrival I asked the service manager if there was a software update available for my car. I was told 'No' and he also said that if there was, I would have been informed by post, as in the seat recall. The technician examined my seat frame, passed the documentation over to the service manager, who told me that the seat frame was fine, but the technician had discovered a software update for my car!! When I asked for info I was told it was to 'eliminate jerkiness'. Fortunately, my car has never suffered from the dreaded kangarooing, but on occasion, when approaching a roundabout or traffic lights and changing down and then finding I could proceed, when in second gear and applying the accelerator, I would find no response. A swift change down into 1st gear always solved the problem Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and the software update was duly installed. Early days yet, but what I have found so far, is that try as I might to replicate it, the 'power fade' in second gear has disappeared, '2 cylinder mode' appears much more frequently than it did and the engine revs appear to have dropped when starting from cold. Too early to comment on any change in fuel consumption as yet. I had concerns that the update could create more problems than it solved, but currently I feel that the Karoq is an improved car. The only downside is the misinformation from the dealer which could explain all the confusion written on here about 'is there is there not' a software update. I know your car is DSG, but I hope this helps.
  12. linni, I had the same proble. I cleared the cache on the Skoda Connect app and it started working again. I say'working', still cannot access honk and flash etc
  13. Thanks for the reply Simon, no-one told me about that! I can now see why, as you say, my app is pretty useless! Just out of interest, is that fee paid to the dealer, or can it be purchased on line? Not that I will be going down that route. App functions are 'a nice to have', but at that cost, I don't think so!
  14. Yes Kenny, my subscription is valid until March 2020
  15. Delighted with my month old Karoq in every way...except for the Connect app! Registered and connects to car infotainment unit, however, when the car is parked (and locked), how do I utilise any of the benefits associated with Skoda Connect? When I am away from the car how do I 'honk and flash', use 'parking position' etc. All I can currently see is the Trip Planner and my Service partner? Am I doing something wrong or is that all I can expect from the app? Help/guidance gratefully received
  16. Thanks for your replies, Berisford and Davey. I've had the car for almost a fortnight now and although I've been aware of the 'ON' light, I've never noticed the 'OFF' light before. It looks as if it is normal based on your replies. I just find it strange, that is no mention of the 'OFF' light in the manual...
  17. Hoping people can help me here with my new Karoq 1.5 SE L... Shortly after collection, I realised that the front passenger airbag was deactivated by the key switch. No problem there, followed instructions in manual and duly activated the airbag. Went to start the car this morning and noticed the following warnings lit... The one marked 'ON' , I can understand (passenger airbag activated), however the one marked 'OFF', which is only illuminated for a few seconds has got me baffled. Cannot find anything online or in the manual and cannot confirm if this has always been lit when switching on the ignition? In the attached images, one shows both lights illuminated when switching on the ignition, the second a few seconds later when the OFF light extinguishes Any help or advice gladly appreciated
