The battery was brand new back then and I done a lot of short trips like 10 miles at a time every week or so sometimes twice plus the odd 40 mile trips, I dont know why it worked but it did and not had any problems since, I was paying out a fortune in hourly rates getting people to look at it and all I got was a large bill and still had the problems happening, I know you have helped me out with advice before J.R and for that I thank you, you may be right I really dont know nor did the people charging me £80 an hour yes its has the original radio CD player

Had my Mk2 now a few years but the 1st year was a nightmare seems I had warning lights and all sorts going wrong with it, I mean literally every warning light & warning code you could think of, Thank god I had RAC cover as broke down nearly every time I went out in it. the last year I have had no break downs no warning lights nothing wrong what so every all the problems just went away. why you might ask? So many problems are caused by the battery being low or not using the car daily it was unreal, All I done was bought a good quality solar windscreen panel around 10-20w stuck it to the left side windscreen and plugged it into the ECU Port to keep a charge going into the battery and since doing this not 1 warning light no breakdowns nothing, it's like a whole new car and runs sweet. It's unreal what it can do if you dont drive much like me, even in summer... keep that battery topped up and fully charged or the Octavia MK2 can play up something rotten

Hi guys where the best point to get twin wires from a dash solar panel to the battery, at the moment i'm using the OBD via the supplied adapter but you have to unplug it when you drive and I know am bound to forget so would rather plug it onto the battery, I dont drive often and my battery is forever getting low in winter, just need to know the best place to get wires into the engine bay

I just went out and checked the alternator and its fine 14v with air con on lights on full so it is working as it should

if the alternator dont give out a charge dont the battery warning light come on then?

Never heard of that before?... ABS sensor surly it would say which one? there are 4 is there not?

the alarm horn works as it does go off from time to time, the warning lights that was showing up is the ABS and Traction control

Not sure about the horn thing then if its not the missing horn, and yes maybe your right about monthly the battery is only under 2 years old, but then driving it this morning the 2 lights come back on and back off again a few times so maybe its not fixed, my mate said your tyres look not fully inflated and that could even cause problems and so inflated them and now the lights have not come back on yet. am confused.com lol

The Alarm horn is not there lol they both went so I replaced 1 and that seems loud enough for me

Its a Skoda Octavia Scout MK2 2007 2.0 TDI Estate Engine BMM 103kw, I dont think there is anything wrong with the glow plugs I think its false faults and a wiring problem, plus as soon as the battery runs down a bit it starts showing faults of all sorts, thing is being disabled I dont really go out much and when I do its to the shops and back, sometimes drive over to the beach but I dont do a lot of miles really and it plays havoc when the battery is not got a good charge in it. I do have a good charger so will just have to give it a charge every couple of months and see if that stops it

well well, I followed that Video left it for an hour to discharge put the battery cables back on and boom, everything working fine again, all warning lights have gone out, no faults, nothing and radio still works.

I am resetting the ECU by disconnection of the battery and draining the power will the ECU still store it?

Hi guys I need my radio code and cant find it anywhere on any of my skoda books i got with my car not even the radio book, I rang up my local skoda and they said your not given the radio code you have to bring it in and pay them to get it for you. is this some sort of JOKE I have all the original books user manuals radio manuals book and they dont give you the radio code when you buy the car. I understand you need to take the radio out to get the radio number which I find daft that this is not even in the books and seems I,m going to have to pay some guy on ebay £13 to get my code. I mean where do them on ebay get the code they much know someone who gives it to them? Oh do I need a special tool to get the radio out?

I agree Daz glow plugs are ok abs is the 1 that keeps coming up the abs seems to light up when something else is wrong like this time the light sensor and wiper sensor and the horn, well its only got 1 horn not 2 the wipers do go funny now and then and the lights dont always switch on when you put the switch on auto, they work fine apart from the auto light do you think the crankshaft position sensor may be gone?. Thing is I done the same thing this time, I put the battery on charge over night and deleted all the faults and drove to my 1st hospital appointment 30 miles away and no problems what so ever drove like a dream with no fault lights on. am really at a loss what to do next as I got a feeling a lot of these faults are red herrings, its just past its MOT 3 days ago with no faults or advisers

No I haven't not sure where the plug connection is or are you talking 1 at a time? you right had no luck what so ever with this car, its a shame as I really enjoy the drive and have spent loads getting it back up together it just seems to be the electrics but I tried to take it to a car sparky he gave me a £380 bill and its all still happening, I just dont know anyone good with the wiring side of things, I have the tools but this is really my 1st time doing anything like this never knew a car had so many modules and sensors. The car starts and runs great its just all these false warning lights making the car cut out, many a RAC guy have plugged into it and got it wrong, just hope it gets me to these 2 hospital appointments as there important, think I might take my laptop with me so I can plug in if something goes wrong
