  1. Oh right, pass! That does suggest it has an e diff. Never ever heard of a fl 230 having one
  2. Been looking at coilover options myself now. Finding the oem shocks and hr springs combo a bit naff. Are the hr monotube fairly comfortable then? They use oem top mounts Don't they?
  3. Not that I'm aware of. You can do some adjustments in VCDS but think it's a case of on or off. I'd prefer it to be off to be honest, it's turd.
  4. No face lift 230's have the VAQ diff. Yours (like mine) will have the electric XDS system, which mimics a diff very crudely with use of brakes. It's not the proper E diff unfortunately.
  5. Mine was done this year on a 2017 230. 28k I think mine was on. Common across all VAGs with the EA888
  6. Got mine from kill all wipers. He looks snowed under at the mo tho. Looks much better and use a decent hydrophobic coating you won't miss it. Just had MOT done and no mention of it either. Ideally need to code out the rear wiper/wash tho otherwise could get a leaky boot
  7. yeah, as above, try it in the different modes see if it does it with the speaker off
  8. Candy is flat non metallic, basic white Moon is a metallic pearlescent white with flakes in it
  9. yeah I dont do spacers either. That's why I'm on my 6th set of wheels on mine on the rear, 8j et 42 was perfect I thought. And I'm sure I read that facelift are 17mm or so wider on the rear per side. So you've got plenty to play with I think. Sounds like could even got 8.5j and/or et30
  10. Nope, absolutely fine. I had 18 x 8j et 42 Speedlines on earlier this year and they were fine with 225 40 18 tyres. Mines a facelift too so the track is wider. you could even get away with 15mm spacers all round in addition on a preface.
  11. Rear arb is one of, if not the best mod I've done on all my cars, Vrs included. Golf Gti Clubsport is cheapest option, but not adjustable like the whiteline, which is only a few quid more. Watch out for some of them, they're advertised as thicker diameter but are hollow
  12. Ah just seen you're Cheshire too.
  13. Oh ok, sort of on topic. Don't need to change alignment or anything when changing wheels, but you will have to when dropping suspension - especially on the rear. On a small drop that the HR springs give, there's no need to recalibrate cameras or lights, no.
  14. I'll Pm you mate. Don't want to clog up the OP's thread!
  15. hi mate, yeah. I bought an OEM black magic spoiler last month and sold the maxton extension thing. can't help myself buying little bits for it
  16. Top tip, get some new top mounts too while changing springs. Wish id done mine, got the slightest knock now and again and think it's down to top mounts. Saves paying labour twice
  17. Would be better. The pic in your wheel thread shows how low the h and r go. I've got them on mine.
  18. Completely depends on the size, brand, manufacturing process. Mine are ATS racelights in 19 x 8.5j, so should be heavier than the OEM Gemini (18 x 7.5j). But they're actually lighter (10kg vs 12.2Kg), because they're flow formed rather than cast. Flow formed are typically stronger too and forged wheels even lighter and stronger (but loads more expensive). All the aftermarket wheels I've had, I've made sure are lighter (Speedline turini 18" x 8 - 9kg, Autec wizard 19" x 8 - 9.6kg) as it makes the car nicer to drive.
  19. Cheap kit just for lows. For £270 I don't see the problem and if you aren't fussed about crisp handling. They might not last very long (rust wise) but they're suit a purpose. I had JOMs on my e36 and they were comfy as hell! I'd want to go Bilstein B14 at the least now though, I want my car to handle well.
  20. Good tyre choice. I'm on my 6th set of rims in 1 year
  21. I've got a FL. To be honest, taking the bumper off isn't as bad a job as it sounds. I replaced the entire grille for a gloss black one so did it while the bumper was off and now have the chrome in tact for when I sell the car. Superskoda is where I got mine from for 99 EUR!!!!! but have seem Hortons Skoda sell it for 50 quid - I think anyway, unless it's a preface one
  22. I've now gone 19 x 8.5j et 45 and I'd say that's as much poke as you can get on a FL with the rear being a wider track as standard than the PFL
  23. Wheels always gonna be subjective. Autecs were nice but everyone's got painted alloys now.. If they were silver and a lower offset then I'd have another set. I'll probs change again in 2021 lolz
  24. Here are the new wheels. As a few have said, I think 8.5j et 45 is as much as you can go on a facelift, on the rears. 235 35 19 tyres, it's fairly close, even with -1 deg camber but hasn't rubbed as yet so all good.
