  1. My car was used in a burglary then set fire to, found in a street in Salford, smoking away.
  2. Also, hope you're not insured with ERS (Flux). They were a pain in the rear, will never insure with them again.
  3. Sorry to hear. I had a car stolen a couple of years ago. Did they break in the house for the keys? Hope you find it and it's still in good shape. I wasn't as lucky.
  4. Easier and less stressful to sell to a breaker, got a decent price for it and saves me seeing it being hammered around if I go back think 90% of the parts were spoken for before they even collected it.
  5. Unfortunately, that Skoda, Civic and my Civic have all been stripped for parts now!
  6. Think I'll just take the bumper off. Give it a clean too while all off. Or a lot of swearing, cutting of hands and breaking of brackets might happen
  7. I must be doing it wrong. I just can't see any way of getting those screws out to get them off without taking the bumper off!!
  8. Mine's only a 2017. The head on the passenger side has definitely gone. the others were fine, just the outer one. Thought it'd be a half hour job but spent half an hour just trying to tackle that one screw, so gave up.
  9. Bought some spare ones and sprayed them up. All good, until I went to take the old ones off. Absolute ballache job, the outer screws are rusted and the head is now goosed and the top screw is almost impossible to get to! Might try taking the bumper off but it's more hassle than it's worth I'm feeling!
  10. I hope it is not the silikat bag! This is a common issue, it blocks the matrix. Expensive fix
  11. I went for a yellow one, to be a little less discrete. Matches the other small yellow bits under the bonnet too
  12. good mod. Cheap, subtle and easy
  13. Small size, got one in mine. Keep the turds away or at least give them a harder time
  14. Cheers it drives so well too. Amazing what a few mm more drop does to the looks though.
  15. Nope no squeaks, knocks or rattles at all. I'd have taken it back if they did, I'm super OCD! Go down a bumpy road and you'll know you're on them - it's not crashy though, just firm. Apart from that you wouldn't really tell at all, except for when you give it some stick and it's all so much better.
  16. Ones I looked at were all spelt incorrectly, won't deliver to UK and don't come on a template so will always look a bit off
  17. Glad it's not just me. Found the oem shocks terrible. It's not as crashy as my last fn2 civic though. They are ridiculously harsh.
  18. I'll be honest, I booked these in last year around black friday time as I was wanting some better suspension. I found the OEM setup far too high, far too unsure and when paired with H&R springs, it overcame the aesthetic issue and eliminated a tiny bit of body roll, but was still very crashy (maybe even more so than before). Added a whiteline 24mm adjustable rear ARB (for sale BTW ) and that was a huge improvement to turn in, but the ride just got to me after a while. It felt stuck in the middle - wasn't comfortable but wasn't sharp or performance orientated either. I put an order in for some B14 Bilsteins, but some reviews made me question this choice. They dropped only a bit lower than the H&R and at this height, they're maxed out and therefore the ride suffers. So I cancelled that order (with a well known garage only minutes away) and spoke to Alex at AKS tuning (3 hrs away). He convinced me that H&R monotubes were much better, they drop more, are less bouncy and are a very capable set of suspension. However they're a good few quid more than the B14. After a couple of chats with owners who have the H&R I was convinced and put an order in. While the car was on the ramps etc I thought I might as well get a set of H&R uprated roll bars (28mm front and 26mm rear) too, to match. Anyway, after a few rescheduled appts due to covid - I went over and had them all fitted. I admit I was a little apprehensive still, thinking I might have completely ruined the 'dad bus' and would be bouncing all the way home. But! I couldn't have been more wrong. Just wow, the ride is actually better than it was when it was on the OEM shocks and H&R springs. I cannot believe how much these upgrades have improved the whole car. Steering - bit heavier and much nicer feel to it. A lot more confident/connected feeling Turn in - think it's more to do with the ARB's but wow, you throw this in corners now and it does exactly what you tell it to. No disappointing understeer, rolling around in my seat, leaning on my door for support or anything like that anymore. Ride comfort - obviously it's no limousine, the car sits pretty low but the damping and the springs are matched up so I can feel that it's doing what it should. Yes, down a bumpy b road you are going to feel how firm it is, but it's not as bad than being flung around like before. On the motorway and A roads drive home, it was perfect. Feels so planted and still a compliant/comfortable drive, for sure. Grip - the car now grips much better. No crazy banging or spinning when putting your foot down. The tyres stay rooted to the ground and it's massively better Acceleration/braking - braking is improved and more surprisingly, acceleration feels much better too and a lot smoother Looks - I've had them set to have the arches sit on top of the tyre (235 35 19). there's plenty more to go, but I don't want to rip my mudflaps or expensive splitter off! I've since taken the wheels off and coated the bodies and springs in ACF50 - to keep away the corrosion from UK rain, winters and road salt. So, would I recommend them? Absolutely 100%. They're expensive but for me, on a car of this age it's still a small fraction of the cost of the car (man maths) so it's not bad at all! If you're going to be fully loading your car with kids and luggage, maybe not such a good idea. But for folk who want their car to perform as it (really) should, then do it. It's so much more fun.
  19. Cheers all. Mines already debadged witb the ss colour coded roundels and the Kodiak black and white vrs badge. I rang skoda here and they will sell them to me but 29.61 each! Will order from SS if they have an Easter sale. The debadged look looks a bit plain to me now. I also want the letters arranged on a template as I'll never get the spacing and levels right and it'll annoy the hell out of me!
  20. Do Skoda sell them? As in the UK dealerships?
  21. Interested to hear how these improve it all on a mk7 MQB platform
  22. Should be safe with a Skoda approved. Keep an eye on the coolant levels for the first couple of weeks and also signs of any leaks around the thermostat area (under the inlet manifold). Mine is a Skoda approved and I needed: 1 x wheel bearing (NSF) 4 x new alloys (were all buckled) 1 x new thermostat housing Thermostat leaks are common and to be honest, expected - so make sure that gets done by them. Bearings also quite common so get it on the motorway up to speed and listen for the pulsating drone. Thermostat and bearing were done under warranty - no real dramas. Wheels were a pain in the hoop, as they're not warranty items - so I had 2 months of visits, kicking off to Skoda UK and the garage I got it from - eventually they agreed (the garage) to sort it and replace the Geminis. Was a headache though! Seem really easy to bend these cheap cast wheels now, especially with such thin walled tyres - check for wheel wobble or vibrations at motorway speeds. Apart from those niggles (that's all they are really) they're a solid motor.
  23. Ahhh makes more sense, thought it looked a bit reverse rake. Mint username and avatar BTW - anybody wanna get high?!
  24. Looks low as frig for hr springs!
