  1. This does look a good alternative to the Racingline one - I find the racingline stuff massively overpriced just for the label too. You'll get a bit more noise too with this one over the racingline as it's partially open
  2. wow! a new gemini alloy is only 256, ha. I managed to blag a 17" spare from skoda after a few issues with the car when I got it. Thought was around 190 all in tho
  3. There are so many. As long as you have a bigger elbow and pipe then they're all gonna be the same performance wise. Depends what look you prefer and the more open the cone the more noise (but will be detrimental to performance with intake heat). I've gone for the mst as I want it to have a bit more noise but not kill the performance and also don't like foam filters, only cotton.
  4. Eh? *edit, just seen the comment on CS. You'd be surprised, black or grey obvs contrast better on a white car, but silver just go with everything and are a nice clean look.
  5. Selling my autecs, got bored of the grey colour. Going for a silver ATS racelight in 19 x 8.5j et 45 (10kg)
  6. Auto folding mirrors should be standard. Apart from that, a proper LSD and yeah Golf R/Cupra power
  7. Depends what you want. Forge intake is super expensive and no real performance gain. The intake hose and elbow will do though. Resonator removal also just for noise. Remap obvs isn't ha. Best mods I've done to mine are the wheels, springs and rear anti roll bar. Remap (JB4) is good but I could've lived without it.
  8. Anyone fitted this one? Looks good
  9. I've had experience of the DS2500 on other cars and really don't rate them at all. DS1.11 are the next pad up and they get rave reviews, double the price of the ds2500. M1144 are more a fast road pad, don't seem to cope with heat too well (had a set in the Megane R26), assume 1155 are more track focussed? Pagid are supposed to be brill, but not cheap! I use PBS in my track civic, they're such a good pad and not expensive either - not sure if they do a pad for the MQB cars.....yet
  10. yes it's this one, sometimes whiteline do 15% off promotions so keep an eye on the page https://ukwhitelineperformance.com/collections/all/products/bwr24z-anti-roll-bar Strut brace I got from a facebook page called strut brace UK. Or to order direct to Turkey, try Gorny sport website/facebook - as he makes them.
  11. Had my 230 on the rolling road yesterday, just to see what power it makes with the Jb4 module (and mst intake kit - elbow, hose and filter). Took it to EFi in Runcorn who are a well regarded mapper and local to me, plus I'd been there before for mapping on another car using Momentum 99 fuel: Stock map - 245.5 bhp/290 lbs ft Map 1 - 273 bhp/330 lbs ft (forgot actual exact figures) Map 2 - 290.2 bhp/340 lbs ft Not bad for a tuning box and definitely not bad for a stock figure, I was more impressed with this one.
  12. Had mine done under warranty, but believe it's pretty similar to what you've just quoted on the BMW (£700 to 800 all in I've seen quoted). It wasn't the pump though, it was the thermostat housing that had developed a leak (super common on these Tsi on all VAG models - why they haven't managed a revised part yet is beyond me)
  13. Unlike a lot of VAG owners (it seems) I've gone for handling mods first as my priority. H&R springs were first up (did fancy coilovers but as you say if you go coilovers you might as well go the full hog and get some fully adjustable - KW or B16, etc. B14 are only height) Whiteline rear arb was a brilliant mod (as it always is on my cars), greatly reduced understeer (clubsport is a cheaper option but is not adjustable and slightly thinner - whiteline was an extra 10% cost or so for me) Powerflex dog bone insert, really firms up the car in shifting and acceleration Surprisingly a front upper strut brace from Strut brace UK/Gorny sport in Poland was a really really big improvement for the money And of course I put proper tyres on it (and wheels) - Autec Wizard lightweight wheels with 235 35 19 Goodyear eagle supersports. Has to be said that it handled better slightly when I had the speedline turini 18s, but I had assymetric 5 tyres on there and they weren't as good as the Supersports. I think they really cover the best handling upgrades without spending massive money. When I need to replace the bushes I'll be going powerflex (purple only) too. Don't forget to get a proper alignment done too, makes all the difference - however the fronts aren't very adjustable with standard shocks, on these. When I have loads of money spare (so never, ha) I do want to get an LSD (proper mechanical LSD like quaife or wavetrac) thrown in. Will do that when the clutch needs doing.
  14. Bremtech are ok for road, they warped almost straight away though when I took my Fn2 on the nordschleife with them on (brand new)
  15. DS2500 are the fast road pad and they're awful. Ds1.1 I think they're called are the track pad and are really good, but no use on road as give off loads of dust and are best at high temps. Has anyone used the ATE ceramic pads? I'm after a low dust pad.
  16. Mk3.5 octavia 230 mate. Standard engine wise bar the mst intake kit and jb4
  17. Got one now ta. All sorted and jb4 is fitted. What an improvement!
  18. I've got a 2017 230. No folding mirrors. My wheels were buckled so get it on the motorway and maintain a speed of 70/80. If there's a wobble tell them you want it sorting and don't take it til yo're happy with it! Oem wheels are made of cheese. Make sure coolant is at max (leaky pumps are common). Apart from that not much to say, check tyre wear, engine rattles (they're loud direct injection so injectors are noisy, not the quietest engines). Mine also had a wheel bearing gone, again a humming noise at motorway speeds
  19. heated screen is brilliant on a frosty morning. heated seats are a must too in my opinion. screen was a nice bonus.
  20. Try tyreleader website, they're quick and cheap and quality wheels
  21. Just seen yours is an identical car - manual FL 230. So no issues with your clutch? Reassuring. Is MPG any better? Not that it is bad anyway for what it is.
  22. Thought I'd try a JB4 first, as if I don't like it (I'm a VTEC bummer, so torque feels weird and makes me paranoid something's gonna break, I actually sold my R26 megane after mapping as it felt like something was going to go bang, despite having been mapped by one of the country's best mappers, Chris @ EFI) I can sell it on. Plus it's removable for warranty. Taking it to Shak at LSG in Bolton. He's supposedly the main man for Jb4.
  23. Getting my JB4 installed tomorrow so was a bit worried it'd result in me needing a clutch (cos I always said if I have to get a clutch done I'm getting an LSD at the same time so save labour, isn't man maths great). So I should be ok eh? Jb4 with the custom map 6 on a VRs 230 with the intake/elbow etc should see almost 300 do you reckon?
  24. Your manual clutch coped with that? I'm thinking they're not a bad clutch as everyone makes out, it's just the way some of these young lads and ladettes drive them. Obviously doing drag races and the like are going to burn the clutch out faster than normal. If you just drive normally and not like a chav then they should be ok, right? Not just plant your right foot down everytime you see some open road, but let it build up.
