Fan still running after engine off
It used to be the case that when the turbo was still spinning the fan stayed on. If your drive is on boost until shortly before you stop its likely a turbo spinning at 100,000 rpm will still be spinning when you stop. It's just something I heard or read - maybe someone can confirm or correct me?

CD stuck in player
Is there a little pin hole to manually force the disc out? No car CD player to check now, just an SD slot.

Dangerous automatic braking
First thing to check is the CAPS lock button.

DPF Engine Warning light
And the ability to force a regen would be a good option.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
I fit them around the middle of November and remove 'em early March. They are decent tyres - less road noise than the factory fit rubber - but when (or if) you do encounter any snow they are fun. There's not enough fun in life IMO. And this year has been ****. So lets hope after I fit 'em we get some decent snow so I can **** myself at all the BMW and Merc drivers who can't get going.

Planning to buy an Octavia. advice please.
- Felicia coughed up a spark plug
VRS_White_Hatch replied to Another_Felicia's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI'd guess the plugs have been over tightened enough to knacker the threads. Was the insert a helicoil?- Switched fuses for dashcam.
I tested the 3 bolts shown above and they are all a good earth if that helps anyone.- Switched fuses for dashcam.
Hi, Which did you end up using please, I'm going to do mine when (If) the rain stops.- Do factory Audi wheels fit the vrs with out adapters?
Put your car in. It shows the wheels that fit, click on one of the actual wheels and note the spec. Then do it again for the Audi. There are better sites that show the full spec of the wheels, someone posted a link to new wheels on an Octavia about a week or so ago that included the link. The website was for wheelbase https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/?msclkid=dae0a451c32f19a77a7ffb29aebc5067- Map update, Help..
I was reluctant to format my genuine Skoda card so I bought one from ebay, I can find the seller if you want, It worked and I then formatted my original card and downloaded this years maps, it worked. I also had no joy trying to use any other SD card that a Skoda one.- Do factory Audi wheels fit the vrs with out adapters?
Go on one of the alloy wheel sellers websites and put both vehicles into the checker, they show the wheels that fit and the spec for the wheels for each vehicle. www.alloywheels.com allows you to check by make and model if you don't have the reg.- 1st service or oil change?
The skoda service does very little, I thought about buying a service plan when they had an offer on, they don't do spark plugs on a full service for example.- TSI Service Interval Confusion
If you stick on variable servicing there is nothing to stop you having an interim oil and filter change every 12 months. If you do quite a few miles of gentle motorway driving - and with all the roadworks and cameras who doesn't - 9500 miles isn't a lot really, but I wouldn't be leaving the oil 2 years. The oil filter location on the Octavia is the easiest one I've ever changed.- 1st service or oil change?
Personally I wouldn't leave it 12 months for an oil change. I changed my car to variable service and did my own oil and filter change at 12 months. I might look for a VW specialist for the 2 year service because like so many I find the dealer charges excessive. Air filter wise I fitted a Pipercross because they're £40 and cleanable so I can do that myself, Pollen filter I cleaned by vac at 6 months and again at 12 months, but I will order a new one next time I'm ordering any car parts. For the oil change I used a Bosch filter and Manol oil. I doubt any dealer takes as much care as a proud owner. I will reluctantly have the 2 year service to keep the warrantee - and please don't tell me the garage will be inspecting the used oil filter and oil and determining it's been changed previously - Felicia coughed up a spark plug
