  1. Yeah the appeal of the Xtrons one was that it was a direct swap with the Amundsen with no need for fascia, looms etc.
  2. Anyone got any advice on the Xtrons side of things?
  3. Been a while since I posted on here but following a minor bump, some time in the body shop and a hire car (which was largely horrible) made me realise how much I love my Octavia but hate the stereo. It's the bog standard (Bolero I believe) but weirdly has no bluetooth so I'm after something that is as plug and play as possible as would rather not be messing around with fascias etc. Xtrons seem to do a lot but there about 20 different choices with minor differences and the only post on here I can see about them is from 6 years ago and it sounds like a bit of a faff..... has that changed? Any other recommendations?
  4. I just pulled mine off and they look fine and haven't had any issues with the headlights in terms of water getting in them etc. This was over a year ago
  5. I just ripped mine out as it was doing my head in - it was split so even sticking it down or wedging it behind things it kept finding its way out. As other posters have said it doesn't actually seal the light unit and you can't buy it separately so not much you can do really.
  6. Ok yeah that looks great! Will make enquiries, have some bush scratches down the side of the car that could do with looking at from driving down very narrow Devon roads while I'm there!
  7. Yeah that's what I was thinking regarding de-chroming but not something i've got involved with before.
  8. Yeah exactly that's what I'm thinking... I don't like the lip where the badge should be. That's why I wanted this one: http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Octavia-II-Facelift-09-13-grille-frame-painted-in-MAGIC-BLACK-F9R-with-new-original-Skoda-Emblem I know there's the option for getting my existing one de-chromed or something but haven't had much experience with that sort of thing (and what happens to it when it gets pressure washed etc)
  9. Has anyone fitted a Maxton Design front grill? https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/front-grill-skoda-octavia-2-facelift I'm trying to find some pics of what it's like on a fairly stock car (the one on their site has eyebrows and weird wheels). Also any insight on how easy it is to fit! Ideally I just wanted the standard black one with the black badge from SuperSkoda but, you know, #bluepassports
  10. Yeah I get that - I was asking if anyone knew of somewhere UK based that sold aftermarket Skoda parts.
  11. They've got the exact part though at Superskoda.... http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Octavia-II-Facelift-09-13-grille-frame-painted-in-MAGIC-BLACK-F9R-with-new-original-Skoda-Emblem There's no chance I'm doing any DIY fixes/paints/plastidip stuff though I just want the bit of plastic in the right colour to clip on!
  12. Yeah that's the issue - I'm after a Radiator Grille!
  13. Seems like due to the joy of Brexit we can no longer order items from SuperSkoda in the UK. Any suggestions? I'm specifically after a black Grille surround to replace the chrome one which was a pretty reasonable 80 Euros with the new badge on there but struggling to find anything like it in the UK, just some really expensive honeycomb grilles on Ebay. Cheers!
  14. I've just had mine done last week at 15% and looks superb. I was doing it to replace sunshades for the little one and keeping the dog cool in the boot and works great. I thought 15% would be way too dark but view is great from the inside and looks nice and stealth on the outside (i've got a blackline so everything is black anyway). Cost me £150 (estate)
  15. Ah yes this is the issue I'm having - I want to buy a black grille surround but not giving me any checkout options... any UK alternatives? Brexit is BS!
