Got about £2000 more than a local dealer was offering to buy it. Will help that your car is main dealer ready. I sold my Dad's to a Honda main dealer. Dealers will buy anything that they think they can make a profit on. Bear in Mind Motorway will lure you in with a high ball estimate then knock it down with every bump and scratch but not to the silly extent that WBAC do. Plus it is still an auction and you could get more. I think they knocked £500 off the estimate for me (as said still much more than local Honda dealers), and it sold for that estimate. Dealer sent a guy up to collect the car no argument, money in my Dad's account within the hour. I have heard of sharp practice but you can say no and apparently motorway will kick them out the system if they abuse it. We'll be selling the countryman when the ID3 arrives and I will use Motorway again.

Pulled the trigger on the ID3, the numbers were too good to say no to right now. Bumped the mileage to 15k for another £15 a month as long as it's silver. Black is cheaper than silver on 12k. Have asked if we can get a red one anyway as it seems nust that the colour changes the value based on mileage but must be some residual value calculation going on

will probably add the charge for it by default, then suggest your engine is coked up ad you need a clutch repacement too

Going OT but yeah attitude in the industry is an issue and it doesn't matter the brand I've been treated like a king in high end dealerships and like scum in low end and vice versa. Experience can be night and day between staff at the same dealership and doesnt seem to matter how much money you have in your pocket. I've always found Honda pleasent to deal with, and the guys at Ian Grieve in Falkirk have been excellent to me in all their franchises (Suzuki, Mazda, Jeep and Subaru), I bought cars from 3 out of 4 of them (no Jeeps). We went to look at the ID3 at a local dealership in Perth, I let slip we were leasing so didn't blag a test drive. It was a young guy in a sharp suit that came up to us, normally I avoid them as they have all been to sent to 'how to sell cars school' which is really "how not to sell cars to me school", but actually he was a nice chap and no bother.

Quote was £317 per month dalary sacrifice for 3yr at 12k a year. This included = maintenance, insurance, road tax, tyres at 20k or 2mm, free charger at home, and 6000mi energy credit. Deal also included discount rate with Octopus at 6p kWh overnight. The Clubman will use more than £400 a month in fuel. Plus it's an expensive bugger to run for everything else as well. It should sell for about £17k though. Seems almost too good to be true and I need to double check there isn't a £10k deposit or something.

I think you're right, Party B. Plod have form for abusing CCTV themselves. Misuse of CCTV is normally unlawful as opposed to illegal so plod won't get involved and will leave it to the regulator the ICO. The ICO in turn are completely overwhelmed and are unlikely to investigate anything that isn't a very serious breach of the legislation. So really to some extent you can do what you like but pointing the camera at a neighbours bedroom IS illegal and plod will step in.

So data protection is one of my hats as well. the rules around CCTV are actually quite complex and you have to take into account case law and published government guidance as well, just reading the letter of the law is not the whole story. But...long story short. Just like the majority of the law don't take the p!ss and you'll be fine. Longer story... You are perfectly entitled to use CCTV on your premises but you should avoid that CCTV recording video across other peoples properties. Most CCTV systems include software to block out portions of your video feed to avoid that where physical positioning cannot complete the job properly. I do this on my own system. I've told the neightbours and offered to show them that I'm not recording their houses but tbh they don't care. Recording the street is generally considered to be ok, you actually do not have a right to not be recorded in the street but you do have the right to not have your image used for profit or business without consent. Street scenes are generally not considered to be recording individuals unless an individual is the subject of the video. Where that can get more complex is in a less busy street whre there may be a series of identifiable individuals walking past. Should you have a sign up that asys you are recording, technically yes. Although you are unlikely to be prosecuted in any way for not displaying a sign for a domestic system. A sigh is good thing for preventing crime anyway, tbh I recommend a sign even if you have no cctv. I'm considering a fake cameras in a few locations in addition to the real ones. So.. where you do record identifiable individuals (i.e. Ring doorbell) you technically become a Data Controller under UK-GDPR by doing that and you are required under law to process that data in a lawful manner. You could find youself subject to a legal demand for the CCTV footage you hold. Similarly should you think it funny to publish something on YouTube from your camera system you may be subject to legal action if you do this without consent. The police may also request then demand footage from your camera system for the purpose of investigation. Should your video feed been thought to be inappropriate i.e. you failed to stop your cameras recording the teenage daughters bedroom next door either by positioning the camera or by failing to use software option you may be subject to other legal action such as you being a stautory nusance or other anti-stalking legislation. Are you likely to have problems with your CCTV? If you don't take the p!55, no you are very unlikely to have an issue. But be aware that otehr people may have right to the data you are recording and a failure on your part to respond properly might cause you issues.

I would usually protest about work trying to put an app on my personal phone but I actually have the work MFA on my phone as I use MS Authenticator anyway. It's just another MFA. It's tied to the time on your phone rather than any secret sauce. If it's just the MFA app I wouldn't really have an issue. If they want to put a MDM (device manager) on your phone, avoid that, it can mess stuff up. I think you cna insist on getting a device but tbh that might be more of a pain for you in this case having to carry a second device. I'm a Cyber Security Consultant in my day job btw.

Ok 7p a kWh I didn't have the number to hand. What do I like, honestly, basically nothing. I very much do not like modern cars at all right now. The except would be the new Renault 5 but whether that functions as a usable vehicle would need testing. the majority of the rest I find pretty hideous. The few I've been in I found the interiors cheap and scratchy. Acceptable if you are in a basic car, not so acceptable in a £50k bmw. Mrs already going cold on the idea through the day, I think she thought it was a free car not £500 a month. An example of the current deal is a salary sacrifice Reanult 5, on at £350 a month (scottish taxes would actually make it a little cheaper) with 6000 miles charging rebate, free charger installation. 12k a year for 4 year, no deposit/up front payment thing they do with lease.
