Used Skoda Warranty - Mileage Restrictions?
Are there mileage restrictions with Skoda warranty? Does say a 40k male service need to be carried out before 40k miles to preserve the warranty? My 2017 Yeti came with two years Used Skoda Warranty and is now due its 4 year/40k mile service. We recently had to use it for an unexpected long distance journey, adding quite a few more miles than otherwise expected, taking it very close to 40k miles. Does the service need to be carried out before it reaches 40k miles?

Major engine work
Knowing my luck, mine will fail at 4 yrs 11 months

Major engine work
Thanks, I'll make a note of that for when my 5yr service is due next year. Is there any advantage to having the cam belt done early, say 4 years? I realise this will bring the subsequent changes forward by a year.

Major engine work
Are the tensioners for the cam belt?

I wonder if that was because the belts were improved, or same belt but Skoda wanting to change to 5 yrs for changes sake?

Stop/Start question
The wife previous company Tiguan had DSG and auto hold. It worked really well. I was a little disappointed to discover the Yeti didn't have it. It seems a bit prehistoric having to now pull the handbrake on and select N etc. Other than that, the Yeti is the best car I've ever had (but then my last car was a 24yr old LR Defender!!!)

Stop/Start question
Well it would perhaps prevent the engine restarting when sat in stationary traffic. As it is now, the only way of preventing the engine running is to place in P, which flashes your reverse light to the car behind when doing so, and again when changing to D. And who wants to be having to move the gear stick all the way to and from P every time you stop in a traffic jam?

Stop/Start question
Maybe so, are you aware of any Yetis had this feature? My SE L Drive Outdoor is about the highest spec car I've ever had, and auto hold is about the only feature that I feel i'm missing from mine.

Stop/Start question
It's as if Skoda got a tick in the box for being environmentally aware, whilst secretly suffocating a polar bear.

Stop/Start question
It's annoying how coming to a stop turns the engine off, but as soon as you select neutral gear with handbrake on, and lift your foot off the brake then the engine starts again. You could be sat for a while with the engine running whilst waiting or traffic to move again. Of course, as soon as you put it in P the traffic moves off straight away!!!

Digital torque wrenches?
Anyone able to recommend a digital torque wrench please? I have a normal torque wrench, but I find the markings very difficult to read, and I quite fancy one that makes 'beep' noises Have my eye on this Clarke Pro327 wrench from Machine & Mart @ £95 https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-pro237-12-drive-digital-electronic-to/

Dedicated tow bar electrics throwing up warning lights
I've had recent experiences of similar problems to the OP, but on a Skoda Yeti. Park Pilot unavailable with reversing sensors deactivated. Continuous beep when selecting reverse gear. No power to towing electric socket. Dashboard light illuminated (looks like a lightbulb) Turned out to be moisture on the towing electrics module, though I don't know how moisture had got there. Replacement module solved the problem.

Interesting. It's very annoying when it happens, which is very regular.

I rang my dealer today, they said that the phone lead can be a problem or the phone not running up to date software. I told them mines a brand new iPhone 12 on the latest software and using official Apple lead, and have tried with other leads too. They said I could take it to a Skoda dealer to be checked, but that would just consist of one of their guys plugging their phone in to see if it works for them.

Sadly this didn't;t work for me, I connected my iPhone with the official iPhone lightning cable but still no joy. Reverted back to my Anler cable and after a few tries it connected. The USB socket is working as my phone starts charging straightaway, but it seldom triggers Smart Link Car Play to open. I only had the Car Play software installed a few weeks ago by the Skoda dealer, not sure if it comes with any warranty? I'll have to phone them and ask.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Im using a non Apple 'Anker' lead which always charges the iPhone but doesn't always connect to Car Play. I'll try the genuine Apple lead.

How come your post appears in a different language?

I can't help with that in afraid, but I have issues with Apple Car Play that I paid to have activated. When I connect my iPhone to the Yeti usb socket, its a toss of a coin whether Apple Car Play recognises my phone and opens up the display on the dashboard. Sometimes it does it first time, other times I have to remove and reinsert the usb cable a few times. Occasionally, like today, it doesn't connect at all no matter what I do. Bluetooth usually works ok, bit occasionally I have problems connecting.

Congratulations, hope you enjoy it. Get the Haldex filter/gauze replaced or cleaned. Mine's been into an Independent VAG garage today for gauze to be cleaned on the Haldex oil pump. They showed me some photos they took of the pump gauze and interior pump housing and it was badly gunked up. This is with just 37k miles on the clock, and Skoda had changed the Haldex oil at 30k miles. I'll post the photos once they have emailed them to me.
