Rear Internal Lights On Whilst Driving
Just noticed that the two internal lights overhead the rear seats are on when I'm driving. They only go off when I exit and lock the car so I'm not really concerned about running the battery down. However, I've tried turning them off using the rear light button in the front of the car, turned both rear light buttons off together with front rear button, and other variations but nothing works to turn them off. Front internal lighting works as it should. Is anyone able to offer a solution to turn the rear internal lights off?

Cambelt Replacement
I had conflicting information about cambelt interval changes so contacted Skoda UK by email (the reply is evidence should it turn out that I was given 'duff' information). The reply states "my vehicle was fitted with a lifetime cambelt and can be considered as 15 years or 180,000 miles." I had provided them with my car registration number so it's possible other Skoda vehicles (and other VAG cars) will have different cambelt change intervals, and perhaps worth checking out?

New Key fob battery replacement not working?
Thanks Harley. I was in despair. Ploughed through many, many posts with well meaning solutions till I read your one and realised my new Duracell battery had a small red sticker on one side which warned about children swallowing it. Took the sticker off and fob works perfectly! Many thanks.

Main Dealer Service
Just had my 4 year service done at my local Skoda main dealer which was just an inspection. However, they also offered to change the spark plugs. My car's done just over 20,000 miles since new so I asked how much would be the charge and they said £150. I said no thank you. I don't know how much spark plugs cost but £150 to replace them seems steep to me? Another question, is it likely that they needed changing?

Superb Estate 1.6Tdi MPG
It is interesting to see how your 1.6 TD1 compares with my manual 1.5 TSI. I don't do anywhere the mileage you do only averaging about 6,000 miles pa over the past 3 years and much of mine is short journeys. I'm averaging 43.2 mpg overall though I can't differentiate between summer/winter figures. Most of the time I use ECO mode and tend to drive with fuel economy in mind. The best I have achieved on a long journey (over 150 miles) is 62.8 mpg.

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
I studied the results of the All Seasons Test you mention along with numerous other on-line reviews and information and plumped for buying 4 Bridgestone Weather Control A000 EVO tyres. They were in last place in all three of the snow related tests but very good in the wet and dry tests. Ignoring the poor results in the snow they would be ranked second best overall. Where I live in the South of England snow is very rare indeed and if it has snowed then I don't drive in it! I paid a little over £500 for the 4 tyres inc fitting, balancing, tracking and disposal of old tyres. It remains to be seen if they are a good buy but have been impressive in the current cold weather.

Thanks I'll have a go then!

Update Amundsen Sat Nav
Is an original Skoda card something I can buy from Skoda or are you referring to the SD card that was in the car when I bought it?
-
Update Amundsen Sat Nav
Thanks Varoom. It appears that to download the Amundsen update it has to be an original Skoda card which fortunately mine is. Sorry, as you can probably guess I am not IT literate so could you please explain your caution "beware a format could adjust cluster sizes"?

Update Amundsen Sat Nav
Having seen a dealer YouTube video on how to update my Amundsen sat nav it states I use my existing SD card; simply download the relevant update from the Skoda Portal to the SD card and then insert it back into the SD slot in the car - job done! Seems straightforward but have I missed something? I was wondering does this update of the map only change data that needs to be changed? If it downloads complete revised maps each time then surely it will eventually run out of space on the 16 Gb card? Also, can I assume that my original card will have been zipped?

Skoda Superb Estate - Advice Required
As I've posted elsewhere, I very rarely use anything other than Eco mode and I think that and driving carefully helps me get 58mpg.

Skoda Superb Estate - Advice Required
Forgot to mention. According to the handbook the 1.5 TSI manual Superb estate 0 to 100kph (62mph) is 8.8 seconds compared to the 2.0 diesel version at 9.3 seconds.

Skoda Superb Estate - Advice Required
My car is basically the same as yours. I was a bit concerned that the 1.5 TSI wouldn't be man enough for what is a heavy car. Needn't have been worried; the turbo gives me all the torque I need. I average 46mpg but driving carefully can get 58mpg on long runs. Bought mine at 6 months old and as one might expect, given its age, have not had any problems at all (touch wood!). Overall, couldn't be more pleased with mine. Good luck with yours.

Bluetooth Audio has stopped working
After spending many hours trying all sorts of supposed solutions I found one that's worked for me. Car audio works perfectly now. Try clearing your Bluetooth cache on your phone. Go to Apps. System apps. Bluetooth. Clear cache. Restart phone and all working properly now. If clearing cache doesn't work try clearing data. Hope this works for you and any others with same problem.

Bluetooth Audio has stopped working
The same audio issue started a couple of weeks ago in the Amundsen Bluetooth in my car. Like the OP I have tried all the suggestions offered so would welcome the chance to try your solution - Thanks.

Eco Mode ... Is it worth using ?
I wouldn't have thought that anybody with 280bhp would have any interest in eco mode driving. I'm at the other end of the scale as I use eco mode virtually all the time and switch to it within 25 yards of setting off each day. In the 18 months I've had this car I've only briefly tried sport mode (on only 3 occasions) and only use normal mode when I forget to change to eco! As you would expect I get very good mpg. For the last 3,000 miles with mixed driving I'm averaging 46.8mpg. On long journeys I get as much as 55mpg though low 50's is more normal. Rarely go over 65mph and often use ACC but couldn't tell you whether it would be more economical to not use it.

Updating Mapping
On my version page I only have what you have on your 4th line down - nothing else on the page. I've no idea what year sat nav I'm running so will have to make do!

Updating Mapping
When I check version there is no line above or below the Shield entry!

Updating Mapping
Been away but just finished updating my Amundsen sat nav. Previous version was 2018/19 and I downloaded the ECE 1 2020/2021 update. But the version in the Infotainment is now showing Shield 2016-44 (build 309). I was expecting it to show 2020/21 but it doesn't. Does this mean I've somehow messed up?

Updating Mapping
Thanks Martini. So if I understand it, I download the update from the Skoda Portal to my existing SD card? If so, I see that the download is over 6Gb so will my SD card have the capacity to accept this and subsequent downloads? Or does it each time merely overwrite the previous version?
-
Updating Mapping
I have the Amundsen system. Does this mean that I use the existing card currently in slot 1 to download to when updating from the Skoda Update Portal? Or do I need another SD card?

Dashcam fitment.
Last Friday picked up my car from it's second annual service by local Skoda franchise dealer and while there enquired about cost of installing a dashcam. They quoted from £200! Local Halfords charge £35!

Component Protection Active?
Thanks Scott. I'm glad it's something to not be too concerned about.

Component Protection Active?
Thanks Ren Man. Looking back to evening before, I was using the Skoda Connect App so might have done something! Will have to check; though not had message since.

Component Protection Active?
When I started up this morning up came a message on the screen "Component Protection Active". Never seen it before. As I drove away it disappeared to be replaced by usual navigation screen. Can anyone tell me what it is and any ideas why it should come on today?
