Clunk front passenger side cant get to the culprit..........
Problem solved after visually checking drop links and heavy handily moving them back and forth I removed one. And the bottom ones nut was loose, I’ve very recently had a 4 piece clutch kit fitted and can only presume them tightened it up loosely whilst popping everything especially together etc. it would have gone unnoticed as visually and structurally presented itself as fine as under tension. Note to self and whoever may stumble upon this remove tie rod end check for play on outer and inner, remove top bolt of drop link and check for play and maybe a loose bolt, I’ll be ordering a pair of drop links in morning as may have suffered with the loose bolt and for what they cost why not!!!! Once again thanks to everyone that took the time out to comment it’s very much appreciated 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Clunk front passenger side cant get to the culprit..........
Fair shout but sounds more suspension related, only on uneven bumpy ground it sounds quite bad which is why im shocked its not staring me in the eyes

Clunk front passenger side cant get to the culprit..........
Having my fair share of issues at the moment and hoping to turn the corner some what......... Skoda Fabia Vrs 2006 I've got an annoying clunk on my passenger side, so far i have checked after inspection tie rod ends, drop links, front arb and bushes, console bushes, ball joint and drive shafts etc basically the normal. they have been taken off and checked, levered and pry barred and yet still its there and getting worse...... i've turned my attention to the top mounts, having jacked the car up and moving the wheel up and im yet to replocate the sound. And help on testing the top mounts would be appreciated. i have swapped out the dog bone mount and gearbox side engine mount recently. So any idea on what to check next please???????

power steering rack info
was thinking it might be a bit beyond me, but taking the above into account its a straight forward job to a mechanic, as in no programming or any such like?

power steering rack info
Power steering decided to spring a leak a few months back and stupidly i decided to try some Fix leak additive into the power steering fluid, initially power steering went rock hard then went back to normal. ive since had to fill it back up twice (method in madness is to dilute the additive from the system) i have priced up a recondition rack at around £150, is this a simple job (ill probably not attempt it myself) but is there any things that would catch me out ie steering angle sensor, it need programming in etc Thanks In Advance, Ade

Noise when car is idling, disappears when clutch pedal is down (and other clues)
As advised sounds very much like bearing on way out but remember without hearing first hand and obviously no error codes its difficult to fully conclude, choice is yours and relatable to how you value the car. Best practice is to renew full clutch kit (Depending on model and engine) this usually consists of clutch, plate, Flywheel and release bearing. Just had my Skoda fabia vrs done and i purchased the clutch kit myself (sachs) for £390.00 and paid for fitting, this example will be the top end of the scale, if yours is the 1.2 comfort it will be a lot less, seen as the box has to be removed its a good idea to replace the lot, but you dont have too. i replaced mine as dmf was starting to make noise and i had the same issue as you did with the release bearing. im no expert just sharing my woes......

skoda Octavia vrs blackline (2013) mk 2 map update and a few more questions (New owner) warning
Just purchased a Skoda Octavia vrs 170 Blackline estate and so far loving it but as with all new owners i have a few questions......... Unit came with maps obviously they are now well out of date, so can these be updated if so how (presume sd card) and if anyone has done this is it worth it. I know could update stereo (like oem look) or use my mobile but would like to use it if possible ? secondly what options suppose goodies can be unlocked via vcds ive managed to navigate via the menus to enable auto lock, but beyond this is there anything that,s not within the cars menu system without addind modules or parts ? Thirdly Car has a "phone" option on stereo but does not work, i have read on here you can add a microphone? and i think add the function? car currently has a parrot system but would prefer to clean up the cabin from wires etc. does anyone have experience of doing this and was it advantages ? thanks in advance for taking the time out to look, and if you do reply.

Advice before Octavia Vrs Blackline purchase
Morning, Bit of background…… Drive a Fabia Vrs and wife owns a Zafira noticed a Skoda Octavia Blackline registered 2013 (must be very last of mk2) it sits on 145k with fsh and cambelt and water pump replacement. Nice spec cruise sat nav (obvious out of date but presume someway of updating? ) only thing puzzling me is car comes with bolero unit. (Hope I’ve got that right so has sat nav and phone option on unit, but car doesn’t have any function buttons on steering wheel and a parrot installed, which is puzzling me? What are these cars like reliability wise, and mpg any common issues I should look for ? As I say mileage is quite high, but it’s history backs up, price is around £3,700 if that helps with the comments? Thanks in advance

Heavy Knock When Turning.
Hi, All i can go by is my own issues i had with my car same clunk/knock when setting off, under load...... I changed the Dogbone as this was tired to say the least spend many a evening checking allsorts and it turned out to be a loos nut on the axle bolt cv end popped alloy wheel cap off put a 36mm multi point on and tightned and no more noise. hope this helps great cars!

Baffling clunk
Well…………. Wasn’t going to confess up to this…… But!!!! In the belief of if it helps other people out? And using the mantra of “start cheap, work up to expensive” So gets home from work and gets underneath car and side to side play was more apparent, decided to take off centre cap and check the 36mm bolt, and low and behold I could tighten it with the breaker bar! Tightened it up, quick test drive and no knock!!! I know the torque value is 200nm so I’m going to tighten it right up and see how she goes, if not another cv joint (outer) will be ordered and fitted…… morale of the story stand back, accept advise, check the simple and fingers crossed it’s something simple.

Baffling clunk
Right bit of an update……. After finding time in between usual life struggles to look at the Fabia. upon close inspection and whilst lifted in air with wheels on, and on stands. drive shafts (inner) no real play bit of play on drivers side and a slight click when pulled on and some movement, in relation to passenger side, but it’s got less length? tie rod ends, drivers side very easy to rotate and passenger side easy but some resistance. These will get replaced asap but can’t see these been the knocking culprit, unless someone can advise differently. Any ideas on the clunking sound when changing gears more pronounced at Lower speeds and seems when the engine loads whatever part is at fault as always thanks for the input thus far !!!!! ade
