School boy error HELP needed.... Air con pump
@J.R.its In line with the aux belt tensioner bolt, admittedly on reflection it’s far enough to have know better, but was after a quick fix loads going on in life and a momentary albeit costly error 😭😭😭😭 I think it’s the place where you would refill/gas the system, but that’s a hunch

School boy error HELP needed.... Air con pump
Hey, no ones perfect are they......... Was attempting tightening aux belt tensioner on my Skoda Fabia vrs (2005) after getting distracted by the kids, I locked onto the air con nut at the top, tightened before hearing a hissing sound. Using debatable thinking process of just turn it back a touch it sheared, resulting in even louder hissing as it emptied its entire contents 😭😭😭 So couple of questions is it ok to drive (obviously without turning the air con on) until I can locate a 2nd user part. Secondly is it a difficult part to fit? Any help would be vastly appreciated, yes I know I’m a complete fool and feel stupid enough already 😡 pictures show actual part that I sheared and it’s location on the part (not mine)

LED HEADLIGHTS
I have considered some for the main beam (admittedly) more for the quick flash and look....... But always thought they looked bulky to fit

Bad condendation, already sealed doorcard
Fabia life.......... Cat litter in socks seems a popular solution (not wood based pellets) I kid you not

Minefield......... Long and short! Projector lens, might get away with it and improve things...... Agree with originals comparing to candles

Seatbelt replacement not winding back smoothly
When weather improves get some hot water in a bowl extend seatbelt fully and immerse fully let soak, take out use some all purpose cleaner of your choice (or good old fashioned fairy liquid) rinse fully, and dry completely..... After doing all this, spray pledge on inside of seatbelt and watch how quick it retracts. If it doesn’t then you may have an issue, but worth a try before taking next step

Clicking sound from engine bay
Wino that’s amazing, spotted it and yes not going to be easiest thing to get too but defiantly manageable!! The diagram was very helpful! Thanks so much mate really appreciate it! I don’t have much mechanical knowledge, but like to have a go where I can, and yes I know my limitations....... “thanks” once again 👌🏻

Clicking sound from engine bay
I’ll have a closer look when I get home but didn’t see the bolts last night (it’s a 2005 Fabia vrs pd)

Clicking sound from engine bay
These are the ones the motor factors are showing. From what I could make out last night, I didn’t see the bolts on the 47b one

Clicking sound from engine bay
Yes forgot to mention a new belt, can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t....... is it easy access from back to securing bolt ?

Clicking sound from engine bay
Right tool belt off, alternator pulley fine , aux belt tensioner rattles like mad and moves too freely so that’s going to be replaced....... looks like one bolt in reverse of housing is this an easy job? (Was dark last night when working on car) hopefully you don’t have to remove loads of stuff to get to it ??? And advise appreciated

Clicking sound from engine bay
Noise seems to be Coming from down near belts but I’ll have a look Listen

Clicking sound from engine bay
Bit of an update, someone mentioned to check out the alternator pulley for seizing, this is not the case pulley moves freely and clutch works on it too, I’ll be removing the aux belt at some point and seeing if the noise is related to what spins on the belt side of things! Any one else have any suggestions ?

Clicking sound from engine bay
Thanks for the reply, it doesn’t sound like that it’s not a constant sound, and from what I’m finding it’s only on start up (cold engine) I’ll try and get a recording tonight. It’s a mk1 1.9vrs so quite a loud engine in fairness..... but it’s just a mechanical click sort of sound

Clicking sound from engine bay
Hello everyone, I have what can only be described as a clicking sound (no real pattern to it, on cold start up...... it’s on the left hand side of the engine as you look at it from the front (alternator side) goes after start up. It doesn’t go when clutch pressed, nor does it increase with engine speed. As it’s not the gearbox side it’s got me puzzled........ So if anyone has any experience of this or an idea please share !
