What do you mean by air staying fresh when air re circulation is turned on? Doesnt that air get filtered as well/go thru the whole AC (just the same as drawing the air from outside) ? I mean it should, otherwise it wouldn't stay cold for very long Btw doesn't the "Air Care" AC functionality cut off drawing air from the outside? Once you turn that on, it also stops drawing air from outside

"pop the recurculate on it" this always makes a world of difference, in every car I've driven - it cools the air much faster don't know why this isn't on by default when setting low AC temp (while outside temp is very high), and why it turns off auto AC in karoq when enabled..

that blue, white and light metallic grey are the 3 best colors choices for the sportline trim looks great

this is my second summer with Karoq and have had no issues with keeping the car cool at 35+C temperatures (I just set the air con temp at 21-22C on Auto and all is good) - with these recent european heat waves, its been 29C in basement (-1) of our apartment building where the car is parked. Takes about few minutes for aircon to do its thing and cool down the car. And I have panoramic sunroof so it takes slightly longer then on cars without it. If your car can't keep you cool with the outside temperature being measly 20C, then something is definitely wrong with your aircon, no other explanation. Instead of the skoda dealer, take your car to a 3rd party service and see what they have to say on the matter.
  5. For anyone wanting more info on chip shortage that is affecting the car industry (and other sectors): https://arstechnica.com/cars/2021/02/a-silicon-chip-shortage-is-causing-automakers-to-idle-their-factories/ https://arstechnica.com/cars/2021/05/chip-shortage-continues-us-asks-taiwan-to-prioritize-automakers/
  6. According to: 1) Kopacek (new name for Superskoda) will only ship to the UK using post not couriers, so there is a size and weight limit. 2) post-Brexit HMRC apply the value test whether to seek customs duty and VAT. So small low value items it's the same as before, small high value items you will have to pay duty & VAT, large items Kopacek won't ship to the UK. So yeah, you can thank your fellow countrymen voting yes for Brexit ^^
  7. You can turn off the Auto hold option - auto hold button should be next to the shifter and is labeled (A)
  8. Man, Superb is one of the best looking cars on the market today Best design from Škoda ever - every time I see that car I am amazed at how good looking it is (imo better than most BMWs, Mercedes and the like) Can't wait to see what they do with a refresh in design
  9. dunno, this seems like excessive gaps to me
  10. nah, I mean on the sides (where the rear glass is)
  11. True, but brands you mention (Tesla, Range Rover) don't exactly have good reputation when it comes to quality control - those cars excel at other things hence their premium moniker I was thinking more in line of brands like BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Lexus, etc
  12. My sportline also got panel gap issues - I can stick my pinky finger where the boot meets the chasis of the car Guess you get what you pay for..Need to go with more premium brands for panel gap issues to be severely reduced/go away
  13. I think clock is only showing when the headunit is turned off (press the power button to turn off the radio/head unit) - but then you don't have access to radio, android auto or anything else :e

you could have saved yourself a lot of work by buying karoq in sportline trim which comes with most of the changes you made: black instead of chrome trim, black badging (except for the front badge), color matched plastic, tinted lights and windows)
  15. "Fortunately the garage did allow me to sit in the car and that was a sportline model. Just couldn't drive it. (or any other car due to covid restrictions)" what the hell? dealer wouldn't let you test drive the car alone (or with someone you know) due to covid? makes no sense to me.. they could just disinfect it when you return it sounds like a ****ty dealer - how many people will buy a car without even driving it?
  16. my biggest complaint about the electronic boot opening is that there is no safety measure in place - it will try to open the boot door fully even if there is an obstacle in the way I have garage door that when opened isn't as high, and boot will open fully every time, hitting the garage door also it on its way down it will pinch anything sticking out of the boot..you can't even stop the boot from opening even when holding it with your hand..

that blue really pops in sportline trim, and nice wheels as well
  18. What do Engine software updates get you exactly? Any noticeable changes (fuel economy, power delivery, etc) or?
  19. gross weight is irrelevant unless you own a business and frequently use karoq for transporting goods standard karoq is around 1.4~tonnes in weight - have you seen the 1.0TSI in it? that engine is so small that it doesn't even take up the half of the engine bay (which could pose a problem when you need traction and there isn't enough weight on the front wheels..), 1.5TSI isnt that much larger either.. the 4x4 version is a lot heavier tho, but still its below 2tonnes if I am not mistaken either way, gross weight doesn't matter for your everyday buyer, as most of them use cars to go from and to work, basic shopping, etc
  20. lol no way karoq is over 2 tonnes karoq is a small SUV and a small car in general only bigger SUVs have more than 2 tonnes of weight (and medium sized ones if they have all wheel drive)..
  21. it's only available if you have mirrors with memory presets - yours does not, so mirror won't dip even if the option is listed read this thread for more info..

as far as I know, no car manufacturer supports google maps navigation on virtual cockpit, they only support it on main infotainment screen Audi has come the closest as it uses google satellite images overlay over its own navigation and you can have that in virtual cockpit - but its still not a proper gmpas navigation Don't know why car manufacturers don't enable gmaps for virtual cockpits as well - probably too complicated/costly to have android auto enabled on the infotainment and virtual cockpit..

  24. As far as I know it is not possible to have multiple USB ports connected to the infotainment system on a car with only 1 USB port. There is one thing you could try - new Karoqs (model year 2021) now come with 2 USB C ports (and a third one next to the rear view mirror intended for dashcams) - get in touch with your dealership to see if its possible to replace your existing USB area with the one from MY21:
  25. You probably could change it yourself if you could manage to get original parts And you can use something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Charger-PowerDrive-Adapter-iPhone-Black/dp/B07PGT7LSR/ref=sxin_10_ac_d_rm?ac_md=0-0-Y2FyIHVzYg%3D%3D-ac_d_rm&cv_ct_cx=car+usb&dchild=1&keywords=car+usb&pd_rd_i=B07PGT7LSR&pd_rd_r=bc3834f1-61ee-4cd5-8c86-497bd5d61c11&pd_rd_w=5PYlt&pd_rd_wg=PJQXA&pf_rd_p=17aec670-a34a-456d-b214-b9a882c785b0&pf_rd_r=8H53G4M3GW5DNR3DSX4J&psc=1&qid=1608807104&sr=1-1-fe323411-17bb-433b-b2f8-c44f2e1370d4 to increase number of ports available - it will only allow you to charge your usb devices, not connect them to the infotainment screen (you can only use android auto/apple car play if mobile phone is connected to the car's integrated usb port)
