How can you know if air has got into abs system?

Torque for caliper bolts?
I'm going to follow your procedure here. When you unbolt both the spring holder and shock strut, will you be able to turn the hub assemble toward you so that the hub will be at at angle of 45 degrees or so or would this require unbolting more joints attached to the hub?

Torque for caliper bolts?
Thanks. My next problem is there's no room for the breaker bar in there(carrier bolts), the shock is in the way, there is a bit of room to put the bar from directly underneath but that would require some Jacking up or a lift, any tips?

How does the engine know the caliper is removed?
I may buy a scanner from eurocarparts, I thought abs sensor also and it's locked the wheels up, could that be possible? Should I just remove the sensor? But I don't see why the abs sensor should be damaged, maybe I knocked it by mistake.

How does the engine know the caliper is removed?
All I've done is Jack up rear wheel, remove caliper(top section) and pads. Now when I turn the ignition on I get a flashing EPC warning light. Also I can't rotate the wheel (to get better access to caliper mounting bracket bolts). The handbrake is also released. Any ideas what's going on?

Which socket to remove rear brake caliper mounting bracket?
Yeah it's not. Do you know if this is the correct socket bit to remove the two big bolts holding in the caliper carrier?

Which socket to remove rear brake caliper mounting bracket?
I think it could be a tried square socket 14mm otherwise known as a spline bit M14. 2008 Octavia FSI, 1.6 petrol. Is this the same or similar socket to the security nut lug on the wheels?

Where to find torque settings for brakes?
Without buying a manual how do you find torque settings, I think the caliper housing will be the main thing?

Can I use either 256mm or 260mm brake discs?
I need to replace both rear brake discs. The PR code is 1KF but it seems Skoda changed the disc size around 2009. According to a post I found. It doesn't entirely make sense though. EuroCarParts gives me two sizes for my reg, 253 and 256mm. The Skoda dealer says it's 260mm and a data sheet I found for 1KF says 260mm. So it looks like I've narrowed it dowm to either 256mm or 260mm. I found a set of 260mm on eBay but eBay's build in match-by-reg tells me these won't fit my car but I think eBay is wrong. Can I use either 256mm or 260mm or does it have to be an exact match? What would you do?

How to get brake disc size?
Eurocarparts are giving me an option of 252 or 256mm. I'm pretty sure now it's 260mm I need.

How to get brake disc size?
Looks like the PR code is 1KF which translates to 256mm/12mm(minimum 10mm). I've seen a pair on eBay which match my reg but they are 255mm/10mm. Would these eBay set do? They come with pads also.

How to get brake disc size?
It seems there arw four brake disc sizes, 232mm, 255mm, 260mm, 272mm. Is there a way to find out withiut directly measuring, can you find out from your VIN?

Cutting out issues
It's certainly consistent with a crank sensor problem, may need to replace and clean etc.

Cutting out issues
Can you scan for codes? Not much you can do apart from take it back. Could be dirt, faulty sensor and some other misconfiguration.

Car not turning on!!!
How did you check the fuses, did you hear any noises like a crackle or bang when you were working with the fuses. Recheck fuses and relays. What exactly did you do did you remove a fuse, did you disconnect the battery?

Should I inflate tires to 36psi?
I inflated them about two weeks ago to 35psi(well according to the machine). Now 3 tires are around 34psi and seems to be steady there and the other around 31.5psi. In other words 3 tires seem to lose around 1psi , would that be when you take the hose out of the valve when using the machine? So I thought if I inflated them to 36 then they would settle at 35 in a few days. I'm probably way off on my thinking here though.

skoda mk2 crank shaft leak
Obviously the last thing you want is to run out of oil then your engine will be toast. You could maybe search around for other stop leak type products some may work better than others. It should keep ticking along, I'm sure there could some knock on effect in the engine with the slight decrease in pressure but I would imagine as long as you kept it topped up then it should last long enough. You may as well use cheap as chips oil, I've seen a litre of oil in one of these buy anything shops as low as £2.99 or was it £3.99. Not sure if the viscosity of the oil will make any difference, thicker oil might be better but I doubt it. Yeh you need to remove driveshaft, gearbox, clutch and flywheel the access then oil seal if you do get it done you might want to replace the clutch also if it's got a lot of miles.
