  1. I think this happened to me once, I had parked it outside subway and when I came back the windows were wound down, I thought teenagers had done it as I may have left the drivers window down. But maybe it's a glitch.
  2. Seems this can be a tricky thing to solve. Could be quite a few things, the ECM could be shutting down these 2 cylinders due to some fault. This thread has a similar problem but never gets a solution. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1340135 He changed battery, coil pack, did a compression test, changed spark plugs and a few other things. So it's hard to know where to start. If your handy at DIY you could try a compression test, a fuel pressure test, check voltages resistance at various points. You say the battery was flat have you tried fully charging it with a charger? IMO the coil pack is the obvious problem but could be other things also. Make sure everything is firmly plugged in , it could be a loose wire or cable somewhere. Another solution here. They replaced high pressure fuel pump. https://www.motorverso.com/p0300/
  3. I'm no expert but is it likely 2 spark plugs would fail at the same time? From research it likely points to a failing ignition coil, there does seem to be a way to test an IC with a multimeter but I don't know if it's 100% conclusive. It could be several things. Faulty MAF sensor, blown head gasket, and if there's low compression things quite a few things can cause this. You'd really have to test compression, vacuum leaks, test various components with a multimeter.
  4. You can put one end of charger to the starter motor and other to a ground.
  5. Should work , you've turned key both ways while trying handle? Are you able to get a charger to the car?
  6. You can't open it manually with keys?
  7. Can you measure the battery voltage, are you sure you've tightened the battery terminal nuts? Other than that after a bit of research it could be your ECU gone bad, maybe some power surge to it caused a fault. You could try a battery reset first.
  8. You can try putting key into ignition, turning to ON position, not starting car though, and press one of the buttons on fob for a few seconds, I don't know which button you press but this is usually the procedure for synchronisation. To reprogram a key you'll need a scanner tool that suplies this function you'll also need software that has this function. You will also need a 4 digit PIN that you may need to get from the dealer.
  9. What is the fault code number?
  10. I think you have to wait(or drive around 100miles) till the error will show up again.
  11. When was the last time the car was serviced, oil and filter changes etc? It looks like your car is going into limp home mode caused by some fault. It could be low oil or a sensor or wiring problem.
  12. As I said before you should scan for codes. Other than that it probably going to cost you more than a new car. You could pick up the same car for £800-2000. Who replaced the crank sensor? Can you looks around for leaks, you would need to drive it for a few miles then place something like an old bedsheet underneath the car and see if there's are any leaks after 10mins or so. The power steering light will come on as a result of other issues, I'm kind 9f thinking it's something to do with the crank sensor.
  13. Yep, you could have bought another car for £1000. I think the code reader is the best way to start.
  14. You really need to buy a bluetooth code reader like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Scanner-Bluetooth-ELM-327-OBDII-OBD2-Car-Diagnostic-Scanner-For-Android-iOS/383922050363?hash=item596389953b%3Ag%3A44YAAOSw1LVgEZ73&LH_BIN=1 Then scan for codes etc. If you buy this Bluetooth reader you may need to trim the plastic around the readers pins to be able to slot the reader into the OBD2 port. I will post a picture later on today showing this. I'll post a short guide as to how to use the software also. Maybe the gearbox oil level is low, are there any noises you can hear when it gets warm and loses power? What colour is the steering wheel light, red or yellow? Maybe the new gearbox controller went bad, have you phoned the garage to ask their advice?
  15. Can you give more details? So you fixed the stalling problem(how did you do that btw?) then sometime after the car just wouldn't start? So you then changed the fuel pump and crank sensor and is it doing exactly the same thing as just before you changed these parts, i.e it starts then dies immediately? Did the car ever start after fixing the stalling problem? Things to do would be. Scan for codes. Check the fuel pressure. Check for leaks. Spray some starter fluid into the manifold.
  16. Anything here work? https://www.screwfix.com/p/hex-shank-mixed-security-bit-set-33-pieces/2840v
  17. Could simply be the abs sensor has become disconnected. After replacing a caliper the abs sensor was disconnected resulting in the plastic clip on it breaking. This resulted in the traction control, power steering and abs lights showing on the dash. Pushing the sensor in, although it wasn't secured anymore by the clip, removed all these fault lights. It's been ok since I was expected it to disconnect again as it's not secured by the clip anymore but it's holding up. So go round each sensor and make sure they are pushed in tight this may fix your error.
  18. Check fuses also.
  19. Yeah there are a few, I've got infocar and garage pro, GP costs maybe £10 a year I think if you want the extras. Also on my car I had to physically trim the plastic around the pins on the scanner to get it to fit and even then you have to wiggle it around until it makes a decent connection with the port. After a few goes you get the hang of it, but it does disconnect randomly, it's not ideal but seeing as you only use it occasionally it's not that big a deal. Maybe the OBD2 port in your car has better access .
  20. I got one of those elm237 Bluetooth scanners and as far as I can see it does everything a more expensive one can but don't quote me on that. It cost me £5 on eBay. That's really your best bet is too look for codes, for example that scanner tells me I have a problem with the EGR yet nothing(as far as I can remember, but not 100% sure as I've cleared the code now) shows on the dash no fault lights etc. I just happened to try it out the other day and was surprised to see the error
  21. Happened to me, I bought string double sided adhesive patches from Halfords.
  22. Scan ECU for faults?
  23. My last MOT they didn't notice a sticking caliper . Have you scanned for codes? Check the pads wear pattern, it could be tapered etc giving you some clues. It could be a faulty abs sensor as when there's a problem with the abs it can also effect the power steering control and other computer controlled steering functions. I'd check caliper, guide pins sticking, piston sticking, condition of pads etc first, well after I scanned for faults.
