  1. I think a lot of it is just down to the vehicle itself. Mine on 19’s is quite coarse on some surfaces but fantastic and very quiet on others. I’ve been in some with 17’s and they seem to be very similar. My last vehicle was Very quiet, even at motorway speeds, which allowed me to drive for long periods with very little fatigue. It did have double glazed windows though, so that helped. The superb is a fantastic car, but just seems to me to be that bit louder on the road than it really should be.
  2. If you were to list issues vehicles have and base your purchase on that, I could probably put you off buying anything at all. Best to just get one your happy with and enjoy driving it. When it breaks, fix it. Plenty of units with water pump issues, timing chain issues, injector or turbo issues, from a multitude of different manufacturers. You don’t have to replace with dealer/manufacturers parts which will cut costs when it’s out of warranty. You can get aftermarket DPF’s as well if needed.
  3. Depends on your budget!!
  4. I’ll be happy with figures like those from a stage 1 once my warranty’s over.
  5. I’d be happy with those gains as well. I just glanced at the figures while trying to get through a P5 homework 😩 and assumed it started off as a 280 mpi. Are you using a foam filter in the 600?
  6. Ask the dealer that did the work. Could have been a leaking pump, or the tips off the fins. Best to ask and see if it worries you that much.
  7. More power and torque transfers into more output from the same input. Therefore less input now gives the same output as before, hence the better economy. only problem is most people use the same input for more output and negate the economy boost. Its wee buns really.
  8. I ordered these as platinum silver to use as winters, but they look more anthracite to me now they’ve arrived. Not sure if I’m going to fit them Like this or have them Powder coated in a brighter silver.
  9. Mine was, adjust the seat to your position, hold set for 5-10sec, then press 1,2 or 3 depending on which one you want to store that position to.
  10. I use this one as it’s cheaper to buy in the long run, but there are many different ones from the likes of meguiars or valet pro etc as well. just realised you can’t tell, but that’s a 20 litre drum. Makes the above easier to understand.
  11. Try some APC with a drill fitted carpet brush and if needed steam it first if you can.
  12. Lower dash storage box or lower dash coin tray should be sufficient for a search. Not sure but might be worth a try to see if the passat one fits the superb as well, to broaden your search parameters.
  13. Have you tried putting fresh fuel in it recently, or has the fuel its running on been in the tank for quite a while due to lockdown? As above, OBDEleven or i know the pro version lets you check sensors like throttle position, so may allow live stream data from EGT sensor etc. I'm not sure so you'd need to check as I normally use something like a snap on or an Autel unit or similar.
  14. Disconnect the battery. After half an hour you can remove the seat and replace at your leisure without issue. Don't reconnect battery until you have everything installed again. Technically you can do it with just the ign off, but battery disconnect is safer practice when connecting/disconnecting airbags. And yes, as long as nothing was damaged causing a fault during the removal or refit process an srs/airbag light can be reset with a diagnostic. You will need radio codes for battery disconnect.
  15. Nanofibrepolycarbonate ceramicglaze Spray sealant.
  16. They have a tiny amount added in most cases. What they don’t tell you is the part it actually plays. I might be wrong, but it looks more like it aids the hydrophobic properties or finish, rather than having anything to do with the protection. Haven’t had enough time yet to study the chemical make up at length and research their uses in the quantities they’re added.
  17. Yes, very much so. They get a new word and everyone jumps on it and has to have it as its a new thing. I was just interested in what people thought compared to other products as i don't think its going to be any better than a good hard wearing wax or even the newer but cheaper si02 based spray sealants like Turtle wax. The latter being very reasonably priced and gives brilliant results and protection on my cars anyway. Just finicky with the whole 24 hr cure time and two coats process, plus flash time is quite quite if you want to avoid high spots.
  18. These rims were sent out to me boxed as platinum in colour, but strike me as more Anthracite. Can anyone confirm if Skoda’s platinum is actually a darker silver? photo for reference against another set of wheels I have in the garage.
  19. I recently had to replace an old TMC vecton 600 uv that had warped and was leaking around the seal on the end cap. I replaced it with an Eheim reeflex 800, and in the last few days it has transformed the water clarity in my Reef tank well beyond the capabilities of my old 600. Don’t know if anyone else is interested or has the same hobby, but I’ll leave this here incase you do and are replacing or buying a new one at some point soon.
  20. Brilliant. I had confirmation my Zeniths are on their way to me for delivery tomorrow, so will await your report. they seem to be a brilliant all round winter, so my hopes are high. 👍🏻
  21. Ok. In sport the parameters are adjusted to allow gear changes to be quicker or more aggressive as such. You could try having someone like revo or similar remap the dsg so drive mode is adjusted.
  22. Seems to be some on that popular sale site at the minute in chrome, if your wrapping.
  23. Have you considered having them wrapped in black instead?
  24. I've had 44mpg from mine on a good run. Today during shorter stints to drop off at school and run round the town for shopping, the old pig managed a whopping 25mpg.
