  1. Hi Cadyw, Welcome to the forum. I only fitted front mud flaps to mine, very easy to do with out removing the front wheels. To get better access turn the steering wheel right to undo the 3 torx25 driver side then opposite lock for the other three screws. By the way use a short screw driver or small wrench. I hope this helps.
  2. Thanks for the info, I didn't know of camel. I'll have a look see. Just had a look at the link and I'll be using it in the future. Once again thanks.
  3. Hi I've also seen the oil on Ebay for just over £25 post free. Does Camel do it post free?
  4. Halford are currently charging over £50 for the same oil !
  5. Hi Paul Glad to know the NIP is resolved. Since reading your initial post I've installed a dashcam front and rear and notified my insurance company of fitment. I hope I don't have to use it. Time to relax ?
  6. Hi Gyp I dare say someone out there will buy it. It seems more style than function and you're right about the braking and front/rear balance.
  7. Just had a look at the up site its on there I guess the same sort of questions will arise.
  8. up!gradehaus is offering this https://theupgrade.haus/collections/new-products/products/rear-disc-brake-conversion-kit any thought's on this.
  9. I'm glad you found an answer. I just wanted something simple, like me
  10. I've recently fitted an Apeman c860 dashcam plus the Apeman hardwire kit complete with OBD2 plug and micro usb connector. The latter removes the need for piggybacking fuses just plug it in to the OBD port. It doesn't drain the battery as it stops working when the voltage drops below 11.6v. I was a little concerned at first about this but so far no problems. In the user hardwire kit manual it states "The dashcam automatically shuts down 5mins after the car is turned of. At this time, the G sensor in the OBD stars to work (in the monitoring state). Once the car is vibrated the OBD will be powered onto turn on the recorder. When there is no vibration the recorder will automatically shut down after 1 minute." I tested this by rocking the car back and forth then looked at the recording which showed me doing that. It was easy to fit too 1/2 hour for the front dash cam and 20/25 mins or so for the rear camera. I know the above sounds like an advert but it works, not only that I got the dash cam from Ebay 1/2 price!
  11. I'm with Westbury63 and Liger1956 and on this Looks like the increasing need for a dashcam fitted front and rear could help to resolve these types of issues.
  12. Does the "INSP" really mean a service? Is there another meaning for it. My "INSP" stays on for 10secs them goes out. I then start the car.
  13. Over £369! Unbelievable I know why they have dealer garages have big windows It's to see us coming 😊
  14. Finger's crossed, I hope the problem is resolved. Once again Skoda's reputation has been tarnished. By the way any apology?
  15. I also looked at Hortons and Amazon and found at the moment comparable to each other although I favour Hortons for the oil filter, sump plug and washer Ebay for the oil. Of course the prices will fluctuate. Just need some warm weather!
  16. I've just had a swift look on eBay and found 4l Castrol edge professional 5w-30w long life for less than £30 delivered plus an o.e.m. sump plug and washer and Mann oil filter for less than a tenner. Pollen filters £10 all in all £50 that's if you do it your self. On Ebay there is also service kit's of dubious quality. Which can be great if you don't fancy paying main dealer prices. Even better if you have the right tools and some where safe to do it in. So looking at the above post £185 oil and inspection service plus £35 pollen filter £220. So £220-50 = £170 saved. I know there are service plans that can good and independent garages can be cheaper but the more I look at the escalating main dealer prices the more I despair.
  17. Here's a naïve thought, it would be great if the dealer itemised each component showing the cost to them and the profit/mark up also a breakdown of of time/labour and cost's spent. I'm never going to see this. As James@rcc said in his previous post "The unfortunate thing with the motor trade is that people have a very low opinion of those that work in it. The unfortunate thing with the above is the motor trade is full of people who are mongs, snakes, morons etc so it's quite an apt opinion for the most point, that applies to both dealer and independents. It's a trade that schools point the stupid kids in the direction of. "
  18. I don't think Skoda or VW dealer's or any other dealer's are going to ever going to show a price breakdown/profit/loss calculation on our receipts. What price is being greedy?
  19. It seems if I've touched a raw nerve on this matter. Interesting to note the previous post admits to being a stealer and that a yard ape/grease monkey/technician/mechanic takes me through the condition of my car. As an owner of a Skoda Citigo I will want value for money. The cost of servicing from a main dealer would seem somewhat disproportionate as indicated by aerofurbs previous post not to mention the cam belt change! I guess there's no pleasing some people particularly when one is misinformed by supposed qualified staff. I use qualified in the looses sense of the word. Perhaps I'm being over critical but when main dealers try impose their knowledge on those who don't know, again as aerofurb has implied in his post, for additional profit its time to find a dealer one can trust.
  20. What has the dealer got to hide when servicing a car? My last car a Citroen C1 was on a main dealer service plan and they sent me video of anything that needed doing before going ahead (not them actually servicing the car). I suppose the word technician is used very loosely in this instance. If I was cleaning my windows would I be a glazing technician? I think not. I know there are reputable dealers/stealers' out there, the hard part is finding them.
  21. I'm with both of you on this. £35 for a pollen filter? What a mark up on that and all of the other service items! It takes only 5 mins or so to change a pollen filter. As you probably know Evilbay and others have lots of service item's considerably cheaper for the same items as used by Skoda. It doesn't inspire me that a technician can't tighten wheel nuts.
  22. I've downloaded that very same app and tried it. Even on a low 720p setting (for reasonable quality) it drains the battery's power from fully charged to 20% after 15mins. I've also turned off all the non essential apps and just used the smart dashcam app. The field of view doesn't capture the corners of the car and there's also a bit of camera shake. It does work but not for long. Reading some of the reviews they've confirmed exactly what I was experiencing. I know its an old phone and perhaps the battery isn't in tip top shape but 15 mins? So much for saving money. Looks like a bit of saving is needed for a proper dash cam.
  23. I was aware that no iPhone has an SD card facility. The iPhone 5 is virtually worthless but still has full functionality. The cost of installing a dashcam or Sat/Nav plus fitting is not a cheap option. I was merely trying to find an inexpensive way of doing this as it seemed a good idea at the time. As for selling it, £20 on some websites which will not recompense me or offset the outlay by much.
