The Superb is in for it's audio upgrade As I have stated before, I don't like the Canton system, and 610 watts, is nothing special. All this is to my mind and ears, so if you like the Canton system, good for you, but it's certainly not for me. I have built many systems in the past, but decided to out source this build, for various reasons (bad back, never worked on VAG and time constraint) Chosen builder is Audio Advice in Portadown: https://www.facebook.com/Audioadviceni/ Have a browse of his past builds if you want to know the quality. My wants in a system, clarity, audiophile quality and reasonable bass. No need to break windows or rattle the car to bits, but it must be felt!!! Tis a simple system (of sorts), just the front end and sub in the boot. But that's were the simplicity stops. Nothing of the Canton system will be left active. Front end: Doors are getting Mille Legend 1800.3 in stock location Door mids and tweeters are coming out and not being replaced. Mids and tweeters, Mille Legend 700.3 and 280.3 are moving to the A pillars for better sound Subwoofer: A single 10" Audison Voce AV10 in a custom enclosure, same location as the stock 'sub' One nicely surprising thing with the Canton is that it uses an optical signal. This is being utilised into an Audison bit one Virtuoso DSP, with supplies the signal to 2 amps. An Audison Voce AV 5.1k HD, which will drive the mids, tweeters and sub. And an Audison Voce AV due to drive the door woofers. System is going from 610w to 2550w, but with exceptional control. Will continue to give updates and pics as I get them. And no, I will not be disclosing the price of the system, if interested contact Phil or do some research, but let me just say it ain't cheap, but quality rarely is.

I got the DSG Stage 1 from Revo, in Sport mode makes a huge difference. But did do it the same time as the engine Stage 1 remap. My only issue with it is when in Sport, IT'S IN SPORT!!! So no gentle driving, but that's what the other modes are for.

Quick update. From my original plans: Power - As said, Stage 1 Revo Engine and DSG done - Won't be going past this, unless something changes, is more than adequate for my wants, averaging about 27mpg with my mixed driving Suspension - Again as said Koni Special Active fitted with stock springs - More than happy with them, suits my needs nicely Stereo - In Progress, car has been dropped off and being stripped down as I type, expensive yes - but again matches what I want What next? Maybe nothing, really like the car, especially with the changes made. Only thing I can think of is to make the rear hatch electric, certainly not on the must do list, but on the nice to have list....

Hey K, I'm heading up North, mate I know for a very long time, Phil Neil in Audio Advice, Portadown. Not cheap Will have it back in a couple of weeks, yep, it's a full build. No problem meeting up at that stage, though not sure if it will need to be run in or not. Is strange to say, but some stereo stuff does need running in.

Car is going in next week to replace the Canton with a much better system.

So why haven't you read the last 2 books? It's a trilogy in 6 parts for the last number of years... Huge Douglas fan... ------ Nice choice on the replacement Groaver - if I had the option I'd have gone for 2 car option, but the 280 covers all bases for me

DSP - Audison Virtuoso 2 x Amps - Audison Voce AV 5.1 HD and Due All under boot false floor Sub - Audison Voce 10 Custom enclosure rear left quarter of the boot (estate car here) Woofers in doors - Hertz Mille Legend 1800.3 Mid and High - Hertz Mille Legend 280.3 and 700.3 in the A pillars Plus a load of sound deadening (Good job it's a 280 4x4 with a Revo Stage 1 power upgrade... hehehe) Certainly not cheap, but to my ears and the length I am planning on keeping the car, more than worth it... Last 2 estates I've had I did competition grade installs and can't live without the quality again. Not doing this install myself, which is a shame, but bad back wouldn't hold up to it.

Hey Defblade, Great install and love the detail. Very much reminds me of my past work, always did installs myself. Though not convinced you made the best choice on the hinges... that detail would annoy me

Hey Stenopus, I'm firmly in your camp... Cannot listen to the Canton system for good music. But unfortunately I won't be going for the cheap option to fix Car is going in for a full Audison DSP and amp system to drive Hertz Mille Legend 3 ways, including moving the mids and highs to the A pillars. Won't comment on other peoples ears, but if coming from high car audio the Canton just does not stack up, would hate to hear the stock system... Full details of the build will follow.

Not sure why you would want the Canton system. Have it in mine, but not for much longer. Very poor quality and missing a lot of high and low frequencies. Would advise going proper after market if you really like your music

So, have noticed the Superb doors open a lot wider than the Legacy's did. And have been close to hitting the wall capping on my drive, despise stuff like that. Solution now in place... Copper pipe insulation, pvc tape, long screws and washers so no chance of hitting the screw heads, sorted...

As far as I know it's Corrida red, the base colour. You can give George Dalton for a price, no idea if the Revo would be the same price or the dampers for the diesel. Petrol all the way for me, always has been

Koni's are night and day difference, it's now a sports suspension rather than a wallowy comfort suspension. Revo remap is great and well worth it for me, going from 280bhp to around 340bhp. I haven't ran out of steam yet The diesel will be a different type of feel, but if anything like the petrol, well worth it. Could never imagine driving a bus this big with 115bhp

Hey J. Yep, went to Daltons for the Revo and they fitted the Koni's (bought in Engerland, but George can source them too) Travel to Laois for essential car repair More than happy with the service and comms with Daltons, will be using them again if/when the time comes.

Suspension - Koni Special Actives now fitted with standard springs Very little driving done so far, but initial thoughts are positive. One of my real dislikes of the standard suspension was speed bumps, work drive sends me over 7 of the sods... And the Superb bounced and nearly bottomed out. But now, so much better, worth the cost just for that in my opinion. Will test out the handling more and report back. List of jobs getting smaller, though am contemplating an electric tail upgrade...

Might be worth a visit, especially with the money you are looking at

Have you been to a main dealer and asked them? Know you said you went to a Skoda/VAG specialist, but dealer could have a lot more detail, especially if you get a chance to chat with a helpful service manager, that isn't all about selling...

Superb is planned as a long termer, so needs to be what I want from it. Cantons just don't do it for me, had Focals in the Legacy. At the moment I just can't listen to the music I want the way I want to, so for me, needs must. Well aware a lot of people would think I am mad (wife included) but fu*k it
