"check oil level" warning
We have a 1.5 tsi Karoq and we had the same thing happen. At 8k miles the 'check oil level' pinged and when checking the oil it was way below minimum. I put a thread on here however there was no definitive answer, only to read the manual etc. As the car was purchased at 5k miles (driven by one of the staff at Skoda) I did not think to check the oil, especially as we were given a copy of the inspection paperwork. Appreciate it's hard to tell without knowing the level before driving away!

Wheel options
Thanks for the info mate. I’m not bothered by the space of the arch (I think someone commented about that above and I just simply replied), I dislike the smaller wheels as the wheels just look a bit too small against the car itself, especially considering I’m running 16s on my mk1 VRS. Appreciate the real information about 19s though, if I’m honest I never even give ride quality of cost of tyres a thought! Maybe I will stick with the Braga’s after all! Any pictures of sprayed Skoda wheels would be appreciated 😊

Wheel options
Ahh thanks for this, this is really useful! Not only for wheels but for other items I need to order too! Appreciate the arches are big but 17 inch just looks a tad too small compared to other Karoqs I’ve seen with 18\19 inch wheels!

Wheel options
Just had a quote for the wheels for £398 which would be done in the same day. I have a friend who can get them cheaper but requires him spraying other parts of the car meaning the car would be there for a few days (we have a 15 month old and can’t be without the car for that long).

Wheel options
Morning all, We have a Silver Karoq 1.5 SE Drive which came with 17" Braga wheels in silver and black, which quite frankly I hate! (picture at the bottom of the post). Originally, I planned to spray the Braga wheels in gunemtal grey however I am now thinking maybe the 17" wheels look a bit too small for the car. My second option was to buy some bigger aftermarket wheels in the colour of choice however this is looking a lot more costly with tyres on top. I've tried some google searches and even looking through the Karoq picture thread however I can't seem to find many pictures with aftermarket / sprayed OEM wheels (specifically Braga). If any members have some to hand, please could you post them for a bit of inspiration! Thanks in advance James

Windows issue
Afternoon all, I have a 54 plate Fabia VRS and lately have an issue with the windows. The passenger window no longer opens (regardless of whichever button I press whether it is the one on the drivers door or passenger door) and the driver side window only opens if I hold the button down (both windows used to open if I simply pressed the button down and let go). At first I thought maybe the window regulator needs replacing on the passenger side as I changed the drivers side two years ago but not sure why that would impact the drivers side? Appreciate this could be a wide variety of issues but what sort of things should I be checking for after work? I don't have any other major electrical issues however I should note that due to my steering rack needing replacing, If i accidentally leave anything electrical on i.e. fan, when starting the car the steering rack doesn't disengange which I am not sure if this could be a battery issue? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks James

Fabia mk4 pricelist
If you don’t mind me asking, how so cheap? When did you purchase the vehicle? We recently bought our Karoq SE Drive with 4K miles, fairly basic spec and that was 20k even after a generous discount due to loyal customers/family etc.

Fabia mk4 pricelist
Sounds really good! Please let me know how you get on with it because I think I’ll be going over to VW for the polo rather than the Fabia. Like you said, with VW I could select a specific few things I want whereas the Fabia are big packages for a big price which includes a lot of things I don’t want!

Fabia mk4 pricelist
Fairly interested in the Mk4 Fabia (been looking at some Mk3s but due to the current prices of used cars it just didn't seem worth it). However, prices don't seem too far off the new polo!

Black alloy wheels...
Looks so good! We have the Braga wheels in silver and black and I hate them. Do you have any more pictures of this? I was looking at buying new wheels but could be swayed with a respray!

Brake squeak?
Morning all, I have owned my Mk1 Fabia VRS (54 plate) for about 4 or 5 years now. Ever since I have owned the car there has been a squeak from the front. Originally the squeak would start when the steering was angled at a certain position (mostly when turning left) which I assumed meant the discs were warped, cheap parts used or so forth. The noise would dissapear if I applied the brakes. When the car was cold I could not hear the squeak, but become louder as the brakes become warmed up. I had the brakes stripped down by different garages, discs checked etc and couldn't find anything therefore I learned to live with it as it didn't impact the way the car braked. Last month I changed the front discs and pads using Brembos parts which at first seemed to fix the issue. However, as time has passed the noise has returned and is actually even louder than before! As mentioned above, previously the noise would occur only when the steering was angled at a certain position however now it's persistent regardless of steering position (i.e. straight line, turning etc). I should mention, the noise still goes away if I apply the brakes. Has anyone experienced this before and if so what was the outcome? Thanks in advance. James

Oil consumption - 1.5 tsi
Morning all, We have had our 1.5 TSI SE Drive Karoq (manual) for about three months now. The car is on 8k miles and was bought at 5k miles. We are really enjoying the car, apart from the extremely annoying 'kangaroo' issue in first gear and ocassionally second! A few days ago the check oil level light come on so my partner took the car to her Father who works at a Skoda dealership near us to have a look. The oil level was quite low and below the minimum level mark so he topped it up. It now makes me wonder, does the car consume a lot of oil? I appreciate that cars (however new) will go through oil but even my mk1 Fabia / previous 6n polos held oil better than this. Also, should the warning light come on as soon as the oil hits the minimum level as i believe the oil was quite a lot under the minimum level (car is parked on flat ground). Thanks in advance. James

Hello!
Thanks for the replies. So after a few weeks of ownership I am really impressed with the car. Our Yeti was averaging about 37mpg (mixture of road types), however the Karoq is very close to 50mpg (same roads). It's a really comfortable ride and very quiet, especially coming from my Mk1 Fabia. The car has a lot of room, especially with a pram in the boot! My Father in law is a mechanic for a Skoda dealership who has the same car on order. He confirmed that the Kangarooing is a well known issue and hopefully can soon be fixed. Apparantly there was a 'fix' last year but not that successful. I find it's not too noticable unless in bumper to bumper traffic, which then becomes a nightmare. I have seen there's a current post about this issue so will keep an eye out on that post. One critcism is that I really dislike the current wheels on it. Does anyone know the name of these? Personally i think they look far too small for the car and not a fan of the 'two tone' colour. I will probably eventually change these.

Brake discs and pads
Thank you for the quick reply and for the info! A friend of a friend changed my rear disks and must have used very very very cheap discs and pads as the discs will soon need changing and it’s only been 2 years / 10k miles, so thought I’d pay extra for a good branded name 😊

Brake discs and pads
Evening all, I am somewhat inexperienced so was hoping for some advice. I need to change my front discs and pads and have seen Euro Car Parts are currently selling Brembo for a decent price. Would the following fit my 54 plate VRS? I know they’re 288mm but not sure about bolt hole etc! Thanks in advance 😊 James

Hello!
Apologies! Yeah the Karoq is a manual. I liked the DSG on the yeti for ease but I just found it wouldn’t change gear when I would if I was driving a manual.

Hello!
So we have our new car! I am really impressed with it thus far, albeit feels slightly underpowered (not sure what I was expecting really!) - everything seems to be relating to eco so not sure if there’s options to change to sport mode etc? I definitely need to read through the manual! I have noticed there is some slight kangarooing in first gear and in to second (which after reading reviews I understand is a known problem with the 1.5 TSI’s). The car is a 70 plate and was registered in Jan 2021 and has been driver by a staff member at Skoda so maybe the ‘fix’ hasn’t been implemented on it so will need to enquire. Anyway here’s a few poor quality pics:

Hello!
Collecting from Birmingham would cost more than ordering the £37 ones off eBay! Thanks all the same 😊

Hello!
Yeah we are really excited! We should hopefully be picking it up mid week now. We have only had the Yeti for about 8 months and was actually a bit disappointed with it. We had a few electrical issues (volume wheel wouldn’t always turn the volume up or down and the lock button often sticks on the centre console causing all four windows to drop). The car is a DSG and sometimes would stay stuck in second going down hill even when the revs were at like 5k rpm and found it really underpowered (1.2 tsi) and quite often averaged about 36 mpg around town and 40 mpg on motorways!!! With regards to the wind deflectors, the product itself is cheap from the Heko website but the delivery was £114!! (Pic below). Although have found them on eBay for £37 with free delivery 😊

Hello!
Evening all, I currently have a mk1 Fabia VRs and a Skoda Yeti SE L 2017 model. The yeti is going back to Skoda this week and we are picking up our new Karoq! We went for the SE Drive 1.5 TSI (150 ps) which is a late 2020 model but has only been driven by one of the staff from Skoda. We had a really really good deal on the price as it was brought in as part of a ‘bulk buy’. I have been looking at some wind deflectors in anticipation of picking the car up. We have Team Heko on the Fabia and Yeti which were always fairly cheap however they’re currently showing as £153.68 directly from the Team Heko website?!? Has anyone recently bought a set and if so where from please? Thanks in advance! James

Any modified yetis?
Morning all, I’ve tried searching but couldn’t find any results (only from 2012!). Please post any mods that you have done (big or small!). Appreciate there may not be any on coilovers, air etc but maybe new wheels etc? Thanks James

Rear Drum Brakes sticking.
This is currently happening on my mk1 VRS (not drums however) which I have now put down to the damp and cold weather after fitting return springs etc. Does it go away after a few minutes of driving the car and braking? Mine has been sticking so when in first gear I have to drive forward, it then clunks and releases, I drive down the street and do a few sharp stops and is then fine 😊

Potential buyer of mk3
Just realised the 75ps is MPI and the 90, 95, 110ps are the TSI. Are the TSI’s the preferred option?

Potential buyer of mk3
Good evening all, Hope everyone is well. I currently have a mk1 Fabia VRS, however I am thinking of keeping this for weekends only and getting a mk3 Fabia for daily commutes to work (that’s when/if we actually return to the office!). My local Skoda dealer have some mk3s for sale which are mostly the 1.0 TSI colour editions. Originally I did fancy a Monte Carlo model however I have my VRS for power so lower specs are taking precedent for me due to how much cheaper they are. What are the 1.0 TSI’s like? Some are the ‘75ps’ models which I can only imagine are underpowered? I used to have a 6n polo with a 1.0 engine which was so underpowered it was horrendous on fuel as it worked so hard to get up to speed (not saying they’re anywhere near the same engine!). What model would you suggest? My mrs used to have a SE before we traded it in for a Yeti. Plans would be simple, probably just a set of coilovers, wind deflectors etc etc. I’ve tried searching the gallery and even google but can’t really find many modified. Could you guys please post some pictures? Thanks in advance! James

Condensation and mould!
Ahhh I was really hoping this would be the issue and an easy fix! Does this mould look too excessive for just being ‘stood still’ for 2 months? I have googled mould from car stood up and there did seem a few results of bad mould but think that’s very positive thinking!
