Roadside recognition
It definitely picks up signs as well as sat-nav data… ever followed a lorry with speed restriction stickers on the back of it… that’s fun when it picks those up!! 😆

Noisy Heater / Aircon?
We have a 2024 1.5etsi and the AC failed on it three times when it was brand new. Each time the AC didn’t blow cold there would be a whistle/crackle behind the dash which would only go away if clima was turned off. After a re-gas then condenser seals then finally a new condenser it’s been fixed touch wood! But the noise was the low gas in the system each time. We were unlucky that we had an actual component fault which seems rare on this model but it does highlight the need to keep gas levels topped up

Constant Software Update Notification
Mines been asking me daily for about two weeks. However yesterday it did an update and for first time ever at the end of an update it booted me out of primary user and I had to login again which I’ve not done on previous OTAs so presuming this ones was a ‘biggy’ 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ 2024 Mk4 SEL on 1989

Headlight warning
Exactly what ours did, only way I fixed it was battery disconnect and leave it for half hour. Reconnect and take it for a drive to clear down errors like abs/esp etc that come on after a disconnect and it then has only happened once since but fault cleared on next startup

Standard LED headlights startup level check
Hi All, I think I’m being paranoid having recently had the car in for repairs… Pre-facelift 2024 SEL with standard LED headlights (not matrix) I swear on startup in the dark they used to do an up/down level check on startup but now they’re not. I could be mistaking my memory for our previous Karoq and I’m just being paranoid as it was just in for repairs which included bumper off (I guess headlights out to do this??) and that a coding/reset has been missed…. But maybe I’m totally wrong and they don’t do a level check on startup in the dark. Can anyone clarify?

Update to Version 1969
Had ours updated to 1941 last year at the dealer. Recently noticed it’s OTA updated to 1985 on our 2024 and touch wood other than car play being it’s normal hit and miss self all previous glitches etc. seem to be resolved

AC packed up for 3rd time 2024 SEL e-tec
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else has had AC issues. Ours has packed up again for 3rd time this year since new. 2024 SEL 1.5 etec estate. First time round at two months old re-gassed Second time round condenser seals Now it’s packed up again, just hissing when it’s on and not getting cold. Can’t be seen by dealer until December so anyone’s guess as to what’s wrong, just wondering if I was alone or if a commen issue on these Mk4s?

Has anyone with a TSi e-tec Octavia.
We have a 2024 Octavia Estate SEL 1.5 etec and it’s incredible. It’s spends so much time when your driving with the engine off because the starter/alternator that’s runs off the 48v system can do stop/start seemlessly. It’s difficult to describe it on here but it’s got to be test driven to understand. We had a normal 1.5 non etec before and they are like two different cars. It’s a very clever bit of kit if you don’t want to go down the EV route but just want simple fuel savings etc.

Update to Version 1969
Recently had our Octavia in for some AC repairs MY24 SEL 1.5e-tec -> we complained of an issue at same time of interior fans staying on but no air coming through vents and also an ‘exterior lighting error’ coming up on dash. They updated software and it has returned as 1969. It was on 1940 when it went in.

Headlight warning
We’re on software 1940 when this happened. Car is currently in at a dealer for an AC issue. I mentioned the fault and they said although 1941 doesn’t apply to our model technical have advised to update to it (which is interesting as others on here are applying 1969 themselves)

Octavia vs Karoq
Just moved from a 2020 Karoq SEL to a 2024 Octavia Estate SEL and the Octavia is a generation ahead of the Karoq. Octavia drives a lot better and the practicality of the estate is second to none
-
Headlight warning
Also had this fault, noticed at the same time the light switch ‘auto’ was no longer lit up and we had an error on the app. Dipped beam and sidelights were just stuck ‘on’ cleared after an hour or so switched off.

AC and ventilation with a mind of its own
We have a 2024 SEL and the AC has totally packed up. 1) no cooling what-so-ever and an unbearable ‘hiss’ all the time your driving AC is switched on according to touch screen so must of lost it’s gas. 2) couple of weeks ago the fans were at full speed yet not bit of air coming out of any vents. Locked and left the car and returned next morning and fans back to normal. always run it on ‘auto’ going to get it finally looked at in July as they’re ’fully booked’ funny how they were all over me a couple of month ago when they wanted to see us the car!!

2024 SEL ‘exterior lighting error’ & ‘interior fan error’
Ours is a 1.5 e-tec so 12v battery is in the engine bay

2024 SEL ‘exterior lighting error’ & ‘interior fan error’
Sadly had our first gremlin in our 2024 SEL estate at weekend. popped up on dash & in app ‘error exterior lighting fault!’ Lights were all stuck on with no means to operate the switches and then at same time the AC was on and fans blowing full chat on ‘lo’ setting on sync but no air coming out the vents. Left the car approx half hour, turned it back on, no difference all still faulty. Decided to go old school and disconnected battery for 15 mins. Went back to it all faults cleared all operating normally. Its running software 1940 any one heard of these issues? Hoping just a software update will resolve and not the start of a bigger issue??

Hello! 2024 Octavia SEL 1.5e Estate
Well hello all! Bit the bullet a few weeks ago and chopped a Karoq for a 2024 Octavia Estate SEL 1.5 e-tec. Have to say we are incredibly impressed. Also the colour Petrol blue… love it! In some lights it’s blue other lights green!! It’s running 1940 software so hopefully OTA to a later version over time. Probs biased being on here but it’s a good looking estate, only made better in Sportline or vRS guise but that was out of budget / not needed!! (I keep telling myself)

2024 (‘73) SEL What infotainment software?
Hi All, due to swap our Karoq for a 2024 (‘73) Octavia SEL Estate in next couple of weeks. What infotainment software level should I be expecting to pick it up with? Also anything else I need to look out for on these when I pick up?

Low function rear lights / Cornering DRL
Hello All, Had a quick search but only found one thread on low function rear lights and it didn’t come to a conclusion. We’re picking up a ‘73 Octavia Estate SEL soon and it standard with no options. This means it comes with ‘low function’ rear lights and standard fogs at the front. I know it is not possible to add high function rear lights and dynamic turn signal etc as that is a whole different set of hardware the car isn’t even built with which is fine. Totally get that. What I want to know is 1) The ‘C’ rear sidelight the unit on the boot lid is it a ‘dummy’ lamp or in some markets can the extended sidelight be enabled and therefore in the UK can I just code this on so it’s not just on the outter lamp but also extends to tailgate? 2) Car fitted with normal fogs, cornering not enabled. Again is this hardware or just simple coding to turn it on? Finally does anyone have any photos of low function rear estate lights at night as can only find high function on internet searches. Thanks all, look forwards to swapping the Karoq for the Octavia in a few weeks. Karoq has been brilliant.

Karoq Tyres
Just fitted Continental AllSeason Contacts. Live Kent/London boarders and best move we ever made. Wheel spinning out of junctions now totally reduced and felt much better in the rain today.

MY21 1.5TSI Broke down today
Guess who’s back and so so happy to have her back! Long long chat with Aftersales Manager re. the situation and a full apology given. Apology accepted and happy to go back there again in future. Car performing great. Interesting comment picked up on…. ‘Another identical model / age in for the same fault’ so might become a common thing these high pressure pumps. Also SOS will be a software fix and expected a month away. Won’t be ‘over the air’ but one that must be booked in. Alls well that ends well!

MY21 1.5TSI Broke down today
Hi All, So back from Holiday today….Collected car……. Broke down on the way home sounds to me like a turbo pipe blown of as sounds like a vacuum when you accelerate with air rushing… So back to the dealers the car went this PM and have been given a 2019 bright blue 10000 mile entry spec Octavia in replacement to our 3000 mile brand new Karoq… Its like they are TRYING to %#*^ me off on purpose!! Sorry to any bright blue entry Spec Octy owners. Not meant as offensive but had I wanted one I would have brought one! In other news the rear brake mooing noise has been fixed I am told, although only had car back 30 mins so wasn’t able to test! (PHOTOS ATTACHED - shiny new metal cover on these new pads?) And still no timescale on the ‘SOS’ fix due. Was so nice to have her back for 30mins, comfy and new car smell for a little bit again!! Oh well… assuming the servicing side of the dealer bothers to contact me again next week with an update or further lies we’ll see what happens…

MY21 1.5TSI Broke down today
By technical I guess it means they don’t have the expertise so they are going back to Skoda for help? Since the last updates on the app I have found it spot on even shows when a window slightly open! Not putting mileage true but going to spend the entire holiday panicking about any mark on the hire car costing my excess!
