No probs....yes it connects my phones hotspot + also I can connect to the router via the phone as well. It's just the car does not want to connect

Yes Phil, the router is set to WPA2...I turn it on, the car can see it but still crossed out as nit usable. I am lost wbat should I do....if I do hotspot from my phone, it connects fine

Yeah that is what I thought, and it did not work :-( WPA, WPS, none works :-(

Hi team, hope you can help me out. I bought a TP-Link M7200 4G pocket wifi router with an O2 data sim card inserted to use it as a hotspot in my Superb iV. I could connect to it with my phone, it is working fine, but simply I cannot connect to it with my Superb IV. It recognizes the WiFi, I can see it in the list bit the Wifi icon is crossed with a red line and if I want to connect to it, it is showing me an error "this type of connection is not supported" Any idea what can be wrong? I tried with password required, free login, pin enabled/disabled but no luck. Thank you so much for your feedback

Erik thanks...this is very useful...I am starting to worry as mine is also July 2020 :-) same SW, same HW...and the range I can do now is around 21miles...but it`s 3-4 degrees here, so might be it`s really temperature related...how is your range currently and what are the conditions?

ah understand...yes it might be the SW did the trick....I mean it`s a shame if they released a car with such a SW version and who knows how many other cars are running out there with that SW version. Did you get any other details from your dealer on what SW they had to upgrade and what version that was? Would be good to understand the make/year of your car so other users with similar MK and short e-range can go to their dealer as well. Thank you!!

Hey Erik, it was a 2016, but it did since the beginning...dashboard showing 50km and real range really depends. My point here was really about that we should not look at the SW but the real range. If yours showing 50km and mine 35 but we both can do 40 with similar driving style, then it does not really mater what is the SW version. I did 3 trips so far with my Sept 2020 built Superb iV and both I could do 32-33km "only"...still 10km better than my GTE under similar conditions so I don't think there is anything wrong with the SW

Guys, I had a Passat GTE with 10kwh battery...and it very much depends on your driving style and temperature outside...way to work I could get 40km with a very very careful drive (with +10 degrees)...way back when I was in hurry (with +1 degrees) I could get 25km so it really depends...don't think a SW update would change anything, it's still the same capacity battery...don't look at the number the dashboard or the app is telling you. My GTE showed always 50km and could never get to that. Look at the real kms you could get purely on electric...my advice, prior your trip, start charging so battery will be heated, and first 3-5kks go on petrol so the engine will be warm and then switch to full electric...avoid kick downs and you will see a real number of the range

Thank you Erik...mine is a different Device number but SW and HW number is the same...however my navigation is down to 19.11 Spoke to Skoda service today and they said that the navigation version does not matter as the MIB3 is pulling always the latest from the Internet...not sure this is the case tough

This is excellent and thanks for that....I agree it`s a shame that you go to their update portal and still showing based on your VIN that you have to use an SD-card to update your maps...CRAZY...if it would be just a general message, ok **** happens, but it`s offering it to you based on your VIN number which is very bad!!! Wish I would still have the MIB2.5 with sim card slot, SD slot and built in HDD

on point 2 - yes it should...but my superB is a MY21 and has NAV DB version 19.11 and other users reporting they are on 20.16 - so there are updates available, but the system is not offering it as a downloadable update + the USB update is not working so kinda lost how we can update it

Thank you...interesting that my SW has a higher version (but it's also a different HW), however the navigation and radio versions are much higher.

Calling for help, still if you have a Superb iV, can you post your SW version from Settings-System Information"?
