  1. Yeah they have a place and are a good gateway for many people. Electrification sceptics (mostly) trot out the same lines that did the rounds when they introduced diesel cars, and fuel injection, and catalytic converters, and ECUs, etc etc. It's not perfect, but neither is petrol 🤐
  2. If you drive in sports mode it won't do the fancy sat nav thing because sports mode tries to maintain 50% battery at all times
  3. I think this has always been the case since the golf GTE. If you use the onboard satnav it tries to arrive at the destination with nil charge remaining. Edited: it's not actually shown in the manual or the brochure!
  4. @noiseyv E-Boost is sports mode. You'll have enabled this either by pushing the sport button by the gear lever or by using the mode button and selecting sport. This mode will use the petrol engine to charge and maintain battery level at 50% To preserve electric, when you switch to hybrid, untick the "auto" box and then you can set the desired battery level to be held by using the up and down arrows on the battery graphic. This was previously known as "battery hold mode"
  5. Unless you're driving down the M1 in third gear, or Vmax, that's not normal. There's an issue with the inbuilt silica bags that burst. It sounds like yours has, shown by your black header tank before you replaced it. My (non expert) opinion is that the silica has blocked some coolant channels in the engine which is preventing even cooling of the oil. Because some are unblocked, the rad is still maintaining coolant at 90, but it's not getting to all of the block, hence the higher oil temperatures. Do you have a VAG specialist near you?
  6. Looks like it's on an exposed edge before the seal? Personally I'd spray some bleach in there from above and call it done
  7. @Bob3what country are you based in?
  8. I had read that the P10/P11 Primera was meant to be a decent drive actually!
  9. Maybe you should take it a bit easier 😂
  10. I must be the only person who prefers comfort mode! Granted sport makes it less like a bouncy castle when you want to press on
  11. Updates are done over the air, the car just tells you when one is available. That bit actually works quite well. Live traffic is done my using a Skoda data plan or using your own phone as a WiFi hotspot
  12. If you are going to spec 17s, I wouldn't get the DCC I don't think. Area view is 50/50 imo. The extra cameras are great for lining up in a bay, and the side cameras stop you kerbing the wheel when parking. But the front one is completely useless when trying to judge the distance from an object
  13. Having had one without, the silence is nice but I do see the safety benefit. I just don't get why they chose such a rubbish sound for these
  14. iV owner with 19" wheels here. It's fine around the houses, on the motorway it's noticeably louder than the Passat GTE it replaced. Not much to be done about it other than turn the radio up a few clicks. This one's subjective but the e-sound generator also ruins the low speed drive. The ideal speed is 20-40 ish when the e-sound stops groaning away
  15. Yours came with a warning triangle! Lucky
  16. There's a time limit on editing your own posts. @Gizmo could you edit the autotrader links out on the thread? They contain the OP's postcode
  17. Its too big to be access related. Can't work out what else is missing, but it's clearly shaped for *something*
  18. Anyone know what's meant to go in the blank area between the tyre compressor and the bottle of glue? Looks like it's meant to house something, but I can't work out what
  19. Apologies I edited my post above! Here's the February 2021 Brochure, it should cover the standard kit on yours if you flick to the specifications at the back SKODA SUPERB Brochure 02FEB2021 (1).pdf
  20. Edited. Blind spot detection should be standard on yours, just double checked the brochure
  21. I think they're just 3.6kw I'm afraid. The EV tech is 8 years old on these cars now!
  22. You're right about audience participation. I discovered my partner had just been driving it until the battery ran out then letting it switch to auto because the buttons are too much effort. Interestingly it delivers pretty much the same economy when driven that way compared to me constantly changing modes 😆
  23. I looked at doing it when I had mine but the buttons have a subtle bevel to one side. It then got into "too much effort" territory!
  24. Yeah dedicated sport button, and on the correct side of the gearstick this time!
  25. Didn't realise the on board charger was capable of more than 3.6kw?
