  1. I saw a new Sportage last week, actually quite striking in the flesh!
  2. To be fair. The Superb is now the same price as the Passat, even with the down-market interior. Objectively, there are better value BEVs / PHEVs around. The value the superb and Passat have is the massive boot and interior space. What models are you looking at @Sevlow8?
  3. Don't let them off until they fix it or give you something in writing that it's safe to drive as-is.
  4. Looks like you've got a full house on supply chain bingo
  5. Mine was delivered in October 2021 and they've been poor since day 1 too. Gonna replace them in the spring once the frosts have stopped.
  6. I had a 2017 Passat GTE and the VW app was rubbish, very similar to the issues you're having. On my iV the app has generally been fine, and much more responsive. I have had a few issues with the car though, which might be part of your issue. Sometimes if I set the departure timer within the car, it either won't do anything, or it will charge but won't warm up. This happens maybe 1/10 times it's set. I'm planning to leave it until the next service and complain about it in the hope the big MIB3 update has trickled down to Skoda and they can re-flash the unit.
  7. The thing with lease companies chucking the service history is annoying. Found my old Passat for sale and not a mention of full service history because it must have been binned prior to auction (I'd kept all the advice notes in the wallet)
  8. This is right. Get the order number and go on the Skoda website live chat during office hours, they'll tell you exactly what the status is
  9. Interesting. Perhaps a manufacturing defect on the Bosch? If it helps in future, the OEM blades on my superb look identical to the valeo silencio - might be worth giving them a go next time
  10. At first glance they seem to look very similar. Were they difficult to slide into the socket? Or did the catches not line up?
  11. Perhaps the seller on amazon had them listed incorrectly and they were for a MK2 or a different car entirely?
  12. Dealer wipers always have a healthy mark up. Where did you buy online? I've been using wiper blades.co.uk for a few years without issue
  13. As someone suggested above, a decent sized block of wood bolted to the floor to act as a stop will work. Mount it slightly further back so the car can "sag" forward when you release the foot brake. You quickly learn how much room you have left once the solid beeps start with the sensors, I park mine in a similar sized space without issue
  14. Did this issue get fixed? I have a MIB 3 unit with an identical issue. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes of driving before it works out where you are. Other times it'll work perfectly for a while then drop out and starts to suggest I'm driving off road Android Auto and car play are always accurate, whether wired or wireless
  15. If it helps, the VW brochures list the standard tint at approx 65%. I can't imagine they have a Skoda specific window tint so it's likely the same?
  16. You can tell after a pure electric journey. It'll display on the virtual cockpit. 3-5 currently. (post edited after I checked on the app)
  17. Cheers for the reminder, I've just gone and filled the wiper fluid that's been bonging for the last week. I look forward to upwards of three days motoring before it's empty again! I had a B8 Passat that never suffered the issue. What's the pre-emptive fix? silicone grease around the spindle of the locking cam?
  18. All golf 8s are being recalled for a major software update on the mib3 to fix these types of issues. Hopefully it trickles down to the lesser models. Link in German https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/neuheiten/vw-golf-8-upgrade-software-hardware-rueckruf/
  19. Echo the above. Plus you don't want to damage your ballasts with some shonky LEDs
  20. It's a pity because the hyper green VRS is a thing of beauty. Luckily it wasn't on offer when I ordered the superb or I would have traded most other things off for the colour!
  21. Be thankful you aren't in an Octavia or ID3 with the same issues and no physical A/C controls. How I get around the other driver issue is by using the seat memory. I'm 1, my partner is 2. At least if the profiles stick, you can always get the seats and mirrors to the right location
  22. To me it seems they've added a load of "functionality" to the MIB 2.5 hardware and it's not fit. My B8 Passat was flawless. One of the reasons I chose the superb over a Pug 508 was the laggy touchscreen in the 508, sometimes I wonder. When mine sticks on guest there's no way to undo it until a couple of full shutdown cycles. I've just configured my guest profile the same as my own, so it's less of an annoyance.
  23. That's interesting knowledge! Makes a lot of sense
  24. Recent news is that VW are set to push Skoda further down market to compete and stop cannibalising sales. Don't see how successful they'll be with a Dacia strategy given the following the brand has, but they'll likely only have one halo car in future - the Octavia VRS
  25. It's not in their interests to be fitting two batteries to every car sold, they'll be disconnected I imagine. Although I can assure you that your wiper blades will be knackered when they arrive after sitting in the baking sun all summer, as mine are!
