  1. Is the problem not slightly different? I'd have thought it's because the rear brakes see so little service use, the discs are corroded through lack of use? Which explains why the fronts are fine?
  2. OP, your Bosch ones definitely fit. I've just replaced mine with the same ones. They just require you to bend the widget away from the blade before you slide it into the arm. If it's flat against the blade it doesn't seem to want to seat into the arm for some reason. Hopefully you still have them and can keep for next time
  3. That is how it feels. It's almost like hand-off happens at too high a speed. ETA: what's common for me is the lurch happens (i.e. suddenly you're not decelerating any more) so you press the brake further, which then fires the ABS
  4. @MarkyG82 I'd say it's pretty much identical between them both. It definitely doesn't bring it to a halt. The interaction between regen and brakes is not as good in the superb compared to the GTE, the superb sometime lurches as you come to a stop and it can be disconcerting. Haven't worked out the cause or if it's just a problem with my own car.
  5. I had a Passat GTE before the iV. At 4 years and 88k it was still on the original front pads and discs. It needed new rears for the second MOT because the discs corroded through lack of use. I don't think occasionally mashing the brakes will be enough to prevent the same unfortunately
  6. Not sure if it helps in this scenario. My car was only delivered October 2021 and occasionally exhibits the behaviour you've mentioned, though mostly on the opening cycle. When it sticks, another jab of the button does get it to open fully without issue.
  7. When did the USB get added to the centre console?
  8. I saw your post about that. My phone gets hot using AA wireless. Combining it with heat from wireless charging seems like a recipe for bad news? How do you find that after longer trips?
  9. Yeah just tap the dead space and it'll fade back to whatever you were doing. Another gripe is the background picture when you change to sport / comfort. Fine in the day but incredibly bright and blinding at night. I can't believe someone tested it in the real world and signed it off
  10. Clarification: if you get a trickle charger, don't connect it directly to the battery, you need to use the jump posts under the bonnet instead - something to do with the smart charging / start stop system.
  11. One of those CTEK jobs will do a float / maintenance cycle without bother. Personally, I'd just disconnect and remove the battery for the time period. Store it somewhere with a stable temperature and it'll be fine. We do this with the 'summer car' and it starts as eagerly after 6 months as it ever did
  12. Same on mine when I wash it (tail lights too). Surrey John's advice about parking in the sun is the best you'll get, it disappears pretty quickly
  13. Edited: I can see the ambition trim in the Czech Republic is available with the Amundsen with the IV powerplant. Looks like it should be a relatively straightforward swap
  14. The IV doesn't have an alternator so you shouldn't have this issue, when the ignition is turned on, the 12v battery is powered / topped up constantly by a transformer connected to the HV battery. The only thing to remember is that the IV has a much smaller 12v battery as a result, so any always-on camera needs to have a low battery protection mode, otherwise it may drain the 12v battery overnight
  15. You'll probably find it's not possible. If you're buying new, you'll get the new steering wheel with scroll wheel for the volume - It works brilliantly, I've not used the touch screen volume button ever
  16. @roottoot thanks for taking it in good humour 🙂 We both know the information flow from Skoda won't get any better. (They don't mention the 18 month service interval on sunroofs for a start) We're going to get more of these issues cropping up, so would be good to know from the OP if the garage can determine cause of failure to act as a heads up for other 1.6TDI owners.
  17. I'm bored of seeing threads with that blue Skoda 2021 price list because it means nothing, it's a menu for out of warranty customers to get them in the door, nothing else. I think it was originally perfected by Mini and is now aped by others. OP is in a kicker of a situation - unfortunately I think they will struggle with a goodwill repair - the good (?) news is that a replacement engine should be relatively easy to source. I'm not familiar with these engines. Do they just bend valves or is there likely be any other damage?
  18. To be fair you're not missing much. It absolutely obliterates your battery!
  19. I have Hardware H22 and software 0278. My device part number does end in D and not A though. Wireless AA works for me. Does it not show up as an option when you're in the car without the phone connected? It doesn't say wireless, you just tap the android auto logo for the device
  20. They'll be led or maybe xenon depending on when it was built. The good news is you don't need stickers. Oh the central display go to the car menu , settings, light . There'll be an option to convert your headlights to right hand traffic
  21. Do you have halogen, xenon or led?
  22. Did they ever offer the sportline with non-black versions of the supernovas? That matched with a dragon green kombi would be my ideal
  23. Sometimes the oldest tricks still work. Clean inside your glass, check your carpets aren't damp (water ingress), then fault find your A/C. I understand the new refrigerant r134a leaks more easily than the older type, so you might 'just need a regas". My 2017 Passat needed one at 2 years old. Interestingly Hyundai class refrigerant loss after 6 months as "normal". But eliminate the simple stuff first
  24. Looks gold in the post above but it's definitely in the greens in the flesh. Just a shade more green than a tennis ball. A fantastic colour
  25. It's in car menu > settings (buried in there somewhere) You can dim them indepently of the backlights. Changing colour needs a bit more work / coding I understand
